Life exists in many shapes, many forms. As our greatest philosopher phased it; 'infinite diversity in infinite combinations.' Where there exists life, there exists the possibility of intelligence. With intelligence comes the potential of great gain, great advancement and great good, as well as the chance of great evil. We have long since moved one, ascending to a higher plane. And from here, we look on to see what this new life will make for itself.

The spiral galaxy is known by many names, and is home to many races. And is also home to many dangers. But those will be encountered in time. This is a tale of discovery, exploration, conquest, lose, gain, growth and death. Within the billions of stars, life has spawned, grown, and developed. And as these races set foot out into the stars, a story is bound to follow. Legends told, conflicts made, allegiances formed.

But, the future of each race is for them to decide. To become benevolent race who have no more interest than to make peaceful contact. Or raise to be a malicious people bent on galactic domination over the lesser races. Or maybe curious explorers just intent on traveling the expanse of space and seeing what wonders the galaxy holds. It's all up to them to decide, but a story will be written.

I'm not going to give a straight CS, but rather a list of what I'm looking for.
Species Name:
Nation Name/Names: somewhat optional
Homeworld: name, size, rough population
Home System: if you have space stations, colonies, mining ops or the like, just list.
Sector: (see map)
Other Sectors: Depending on your tech level, you can have up to two other sectors, though not as explored as your home sector.
Description: appearance and such
Society: You don't have to go in too much detail.
Technology: just a basic overview. Include Faster than Light tech (at least a name) and common power source.
Fleet: military and otherwise. You might be the type to have many classes of vessels or just two, it's up to you.

Use the XY coordinate grid to pick a home sector. Each sector is about 20,000 lightyears across and will have about thirty solar systems within it, with maybe eight able to support life.

Assembled from the records of the Observers and the art of the Cartographers is the Archive of Sentience; a fabled database containing knowledge of the many races that make this galaxy their home.

-Travel across a sector should take about a a day or two for common FTL drives

-Wormholes and other such instantaneous travel for a ship spanning over five or six sectors must have some major power drawback or restriction, so as to prevent abuse if in war with another nation.

-Complex scans should be limited to current sectors, adjacent at most, with detailed needed a much closer range. You are free to detect major power surges, stars going nova, things like that though, or ships approaching with FTL (if you are looking for the right things) with powerful scanners, but not things like planetary composition and viability.

-As is relates to telepathy; aliens being aliens in their thought patterns and biology, and thinking in a completely alien language and manner, will make it impossible to telepathically connect on the first encounter, and even when you establish the connection, it will still be limited compared to within their own species. Telekinetic abilities will also have a limited range and limited weight limit.

Tiny squares. Big ones are the quadrants and serve to mark the X and Y axis. Hurrah for charts

As I'm doing this from my phone I might make an error. I would like to reserve (16,7) as my race's home sector if you will, incase I got X and Y mixed up im looking to be in the mid south west of the Galaxy. I'll have a sheet up sometime tomorrow.

Thats what I thought. Just one more annoying question lol. How would I label the quadrant i'be chosen. I never really understood those kind of charts in school.
