The Bitter Scraps [LOKIS Dreamer & Lexen]

The night was young and cold. Its wind bitter and unforgiving. It licked at Tabitha's open skin to make it tingle all over. Under her breath curses were spit against everything and anything. First came the weather, it's horrid nature simply making this task even less appealing. Next was the people she worked for, shameful bastards with ill intent for all. Finally, her mood caught up to her current partner for the jerk he was to not arrive with her. No, instead she had to wait in the terrible cold. Little things could make her feel better. Yet, one amusing idea came to mind. It was to take the hold on her own. She held Vince and Vain on her hips, the sister guns were all she needed. That spineless lollygagger could catch up later.

Removing the weapons from their holster, Tabby stepped back into the darkness. Her swift feet tiptoeing their way along the backstreets until they came upon a short window. It was barred with wood but voices could be heard beyond it. Deep voices roared and whispered. They discussed simple things, such as who won the last match of cards or which person was more cunning. It was simple and useless. Yet, she waited. Her ear close to the wood as they continued to discuss. She was waiting for a word, a simple word made in reference to a certain term. 'Scaps' the word rang as one of the men roared about their tidings. She waited a moment longer, trying to find further proof that the hint the company had given them was true. Then the word came again about who would feed them. "Lock and key, here we go." She whispered to herself with a crooked grin.

Gripping her guns tightly, Tabby used the butt of her left gun to break in one of the wooden boards while, without a second breath, began to aim through the small opening and fire. The men, in turn, began an uproar. They scrambled to their weapons, some aiming for the window, others moving to the door and hoping to cut her off outside. She had hit and killed at least five, while wounding around three before carrying herself away from the broken window and around the back of the building. There were more than a dozen left, she deemed, cutting down two more that trickled out of the back door. She followed their route into the building, confronting one man that came at her with a knife. He nicked her left thigh but he took a shot at point blank range to the gut. His blood painted the walls and her smile before she disappeared through a door and pressed herself against the wall, waiting for another victim to come running in.

RayVen ran as fast as he could, leaving a string of curses flowing behind him like his leather trenchcoat, jumping from rooftop to rooftop trying to get to the randevu point. He was late for.his first assignment and this gave.him a bad feeling inside that something was going to go wrong and.it would be his fault, but he continued to push his long fox-like legs as fast as they could go. As he made a final leap and landed not far from were he was suppose to meet his partner did he hear the sound of gun fire close by, " Damn, looks like the parties already started." he breathed as he tried to catch his breath, but pushed his body further on, for there was a job to do and he didn't want to fail his first mission.

As he rounded the back of the building he knew he was at the right place, the fresh smell of blood soaked the air around him as he stepped cautiously through the entry, finding not far from the door a man laying dead on the floor with a hide in his gut, this caused RayVen to quickly draw his long knife from its belt as two men ran in through the back door behind him, most likely reinforcements, they however fell quickly to his blade as one lost his head and the other got a new hole to breath from. The black fur on RayVen tail bristled as well as his long ears perked for.the slightest sounds, " I have to find my partner and the others before more arrive." ge said quickly to himself as he turned to run down the hall.

He didn't make it far before another man blocked the door in front of him, holding a rather large gun pointed right at his head, his sickly grin falling on RayVen long knife as he knew he was to far for him to reach, but the smaller knife up RayVens sleeve closed the gap quickly. But sadly even with the man dead, the skinny silver blade stomping his ability to think, it had not been quick enough to stop him from pulling the trigger, causing now a hot pain to rip through the boys left shoulder and sending him into the wall with a loud curse of suprise. "I guess this is why i should carry a gun." he tried to laugh through bared fangs as he held his shoulder, feeling the light trickle of warm blood. But his laugh didn,t last for long when he heard the sound of at least half a dozen men coming his way. He quickly got to his feet and gripped his knife with a firm hand. as RayVen hurried through the doorway next to him, catching a new scent now from the blood soaked walls, but who could it be.

Tabby waited, listened and planned. She could foresee how this would go quite easily. It was a pity that the underworlds had such inadequate foot soldiers. Someone would assume that capturing such a valuable currency as young scraps, they'd protect it more carefully. However, this job kept Tabby's pockets full and her mind busy. Then, with her ear against the wall, she heard another person enter. Their footfalls sounded lighter than the typical gang men, making the woman curious as to who it could be. Cautiously, Tabby moved to peer out from the crack open of the door. She could see a figure and tail. Getting a better angle, Tabby's attention fell onto a pair of ears and something shining back to her . "Looks like my partner finally made it. Interesting." She muttered under her breath, eyeing the scene closely.

Yet, her silent studying was shattered when she heard a shot. The mysterious party member seemed to have been the victim, bearing only blades to his disposal. If there was one thing comforting from this observation, it was the way in which he handled getting hit. There was no crying, only what seemed to be a nervous laughter. It was when the sound of more men coming that Tabby decided to step in. It was their first mission together and the company would not be pleased to hear that one of their products didn't make it through the gates.

Her feet then, quietly, moved her from the room and to appear behind the man. "I guess someone's maker never taught them the importance of being on time." Her voice was coy, although the meaning serious. "But paying a bullet for every one of your sins will get you killed. I know mine would." Her lips changed to a subtle grin, before her hands clenched tightly onto Vain and Vince as her golden eye flickered to the door.

Six men came in, all raging about the intruders. Tabby made quick work of the first four, gunning them down in rapid succession. The fifth she shot in the right elbow, rendering the rest of the arm useless and the sixth in the knee. The one that cried loudest was finished off with another bullet while the other one remained on the ground, trying to manage their way onto their feet and clog the escaping blood. The last six men came barreling through, the first to enter took aim at Tabby, but, with a sly grin, had pushed her way to the far right and escaped the bullet. In turn, she took down the man who had shot and another member on his left. The next two men came in, shooting all over. One of them even finishing off the only member who survived from the first horde. "Ready for some fun?" Tabby flickered her eyes over to the strange scrap only for a second, showing her enjoyment of this, before galavanting off into the fury.

The new presence.and.voice of his partner gave RayVen the chance to collect himself, using the time that here gun play was giving him to cut.up the black shirt he was wearing under his coat, baring his toned chest that was mared slightly with old bullet scars, and tied up his shoulder to stop the bleeding. " Ya well, a few scars here and there gives a man character, and i hear that girls think its sexy." he said.with a brighter grin as he stood firmly to his padded feet and drew another knife from his belt, this one being a tad longer and border than his first.

RayVen stood back for a moment and watched as his partner mowed down the men that scrambled through the door, enjoying the bold yet beautiful action the female scrap was displaying. And as she turned to him and signaled with her coy voice that the party was just starting, he was more.that ready for.round two. "Save me some." he said baring his fangs, crouching low and following close behind his partner towards the remaining group. Holding his smaller blade in his teeth Ray was able to use his now free hand.to retrieve a few more throwing knives from his side, sending.them easily whistling from behind the girl and into two men on her left, stopping there 'spray an pray' gun fire as fast as it started.

"I think im going to need a drink after this," he breathed as he took up his blade again to snuff out a man on the ground that tried to reach for his gun once more. "You care to join me, it could.be my way of apologizing for my lateness." he said smoothly through the rain of gunfire, which had almost drowned out the sound.of three men who had come around from the back. " Actually hold that thought." he said turning quickly to face the three and rush them. A normal man would have never closed the gap between them before being riddled with lead, but Rays powerful yet slender fox-like legs made it a flash, getting into the first ones face causing him to leap back in suprise, knocking.his friends down with him and allowing the boy to cleanly pierce them through.

She had looked back over to the man while she offered him to play as well. It was unusual to see a scrap with such animal characteristics. Most inherited some small things but he came with the whole package. It appeared the company was having more fun with their later products. She studied then, in silence, as the man cleaned off the last members. It was quick enough for her likings, which was decent enough for her. Yet, then when drinks were offered, Tabby raised an eyebrow. "The only men who take me out for drinks are the ones who end up dead later. Just bad luck..." She smirked slyly before the three other men marched in.

It would appear that Ray had finished it with ease letting Tabitha rest for a while. When it was done, he woman mentally went through all the numbers she had counted while her head was pressed against the wooden boards. Checking twice, it was sure that all the men were finally dead. "Looks like that was the last of them. Now we have to do searching. The company said that this place was holding a couple scraps but no clue where. I say check the floorboards but do whatcha want." Refitting Vince and Vain back into their holster around her hip, Tabby straightened her back before clapping once, "Find anything useful, keep it. Company don't care and neither." Shrugging it off, the woman began her search.

Her golden eyes dragged her view up and down. Her eyes catching onto all the filth that a throng of men would create. Empty bottles and broken chairs lay a mess everywhere, yet one path was made through the garbage. It was easy enough to follow, her quick feet tiptoeing through it until she reached an odd square on the ground. It was slightly discoloured compared to the other floorboards. Slightly lighter than the rest, as if it hadn't been stepped on often. It sent a grin onto her pink lips. Bending down, her fingers crept into the small crack between the floor and the trapdoor. It flung open as she heard a small gasp from below. Her gold eyes glittered in the darkness as two peered back. In the gloom, her catlike eyes let her see two children cuddled together in the corner. "The company has come to collect you. Let's go, unless you want to stay here in the dark. I personally prefer it, but you may not." The two scraps stayed still for a moment as they breathed heavily. In the dark they seemed unsure. "C'mon, kids. Tight schedule. I'll drag you out if I have to." It didn't take long for the two to scramble out. Their skinny forms rushing clumsily out of the cellar and to her side.

As if from an innate ability, Tabby turned to each kid and inspected them up and down. Her hands carefully pulling and poking to see that they were in well shape. The men had done well enough to care for their cargo, if not keeping them slightly malnutritioned. A couple weeks good food would fix that right up. "Well, they're in well enough shape. Ready to go, Kitty boy?" Tabitha teased, turning to her partner.
