He is a shy young man, who's nervous disposition and inability to defend himself makes him an easy target to bully in the workplace.
She is out-going, takes no nonsense and does everything in her power to prevent her friends feeling like they are suffering.
She is also the daughter of the owner and manager of the café where he works, and has taken it upon herself to befriend him, coax him from his shell and get him to defend himself.
