Name: Allegra Montgomery
Age: 39
Appearance: Tall and stately with a slim girlish figure even as she passes through middle age of which Allegra is very proud. She is handsome rather than beautiful but is so well put together that one is hard pressed to deny her attractiveness. She has pale porcelain skin of which she is very vain and goes through a lot of trouble to maintain it. She has dark brown almost black hair with a white streak that grows just to the left of her temple. Seemingly in contrast to her vanity about her skin and her apparent youth she is strangely proud of her lock of silver hair, refusing to have it dyed and often sporting hairstyles that emphasize it. She has a long nose, just shy of being too big and a generous mouth that typically falls into a straight line that gives her a very reserved expression but looks just as at ease curved into a gracious smile. Her dark eyes are bright and piercing with a spark of cleverness and wit in them which she does not try to hide.
Personality: Dignity is very important to Allegra who is mannered at all times though she does occasionally let slip a bit of wit, be it clever or scorching. She is gracious and generous though she does not suffer fools lightly. She sees her gift as a duty more than a blessing as every other generation of women in her family has had the gift.
History: Born the only child of the vast Montgomery fortune she never wanted for anything. It was no surprise to anyone in her family that she was gifted. Her maternal grandmother had been a famous Medium until her death when Allegra was ten. The Montgomery’s were as famous for being Mediums as they were infamous but their vast fortunes and social connections meant that they were never truly shunned. She was educated at the best schools with tutors to help her with every subject though she hardly needed them. She attended college, a prestigious eastern Girl’s school where she excelled and made the expected social connections before returning home to the bosom of her family where she took up charity work as was customary. She used her skills as a medium lightly. She’d seen the effects of her Grandmother’s showmanship on her dignity and social standing and that sort of outward display wasn’t Allegra’s way. She prefers to work subtly, speaking to ghosts when no one else is around, rarely taking requests from the living to speak with the dead for them finding the whole idea distasteful. As a result she is very good at ignoring the attention getting tactics of the dead. She is rarely startled by their antics and can be in a room of mutilated, maddened ghosts and seem to all living eyes to be unflappable.
