MLP: Haze Awakens IC... [Probable grimdark]

We're bored so we figured we'll just make the IC and do things.

Autumn Gold flinched as the sharp rays of sunlight found a way through the curtains and into her room. The light was almost blinding, pressing her to leave her comfortable, warm bed and close them again. After she had shut out the light, she looked around her well-furnished room and grinned. 'Still here,' she thought. It had been a whole week since her best friend's family had adopted her, but every day she expected to wake up alone and find out that the whole thing had been a cruel dream. She levitated a book off of her bookshelf - this was almost the only book she hadn't read yet. If there was one thing she had missed about her previous home other than her parents, it had to be the books. To call Autumn an avid reader was a severe understatement - the filly spent most of her free time reading different stories. Sometimes, she even read non-fiction. But nothing compared to the immense joy she found that stories brought her. Perhaps it was the ability to take herself out of her life and put her in another whenever she wanted. She wasn't sure exactly why, though.

After reading for a while, Autumn checked the clock and calmly placed the book back on the shelf and exited her room, trotting over to Al's bedroom and knocking on the door softly, to see if he was awake. When there was no answer, she sat outside and started to think. She had thought about waking Al but he had stayed up rather late the previous night. It was better to let him sleep in until it was necessary. She started to sing quietly, so as not to wake anypony, while she waited for her best friend to wake up.

[Alyarin]

Alyarin rolled over to his stomach in response to the knocking on his door, face in his pillow, the knock having roused him from his sleep, leaving him reluctant and yet willing to get up. He stretched out on the bed, relaxing with all legs spread out, soon rubbing the sleep from his eyes, accidentally catching sight of his mane for a moment and losing himself in it's dark and seemingly endless depths for a few moments before shaking free from it's sometimes hypnotic sight, inhaling as he raises to sit up, rubbing his right eye, climbing out of bed before walking slowly and drowsily to his door, smiling as he heard the gentle singing, moving his hoof to open his door slowly, walking over to Autumn Gold.

"Good morning Autumn..." He says, stretching out, feeling a few clicks around his spine and smiling a bit wider in response to the feeling, before relaxing again.

[Frettzo]

It was early in the morning, and Raz Spirit was already up and around. His family was in charge of one of the farms on the outskirts on the city, and it was a big family. He often had to help with the chores, and that included helping his big brother collecting apples and sometimes bringing him drinks when he was out plowing the fields. One of Raz's life goals was to be like his Big Brother... Rough Spirit was big, strong, calm, and supportive. Not to mention helpful, if not for him, their family would have to work a lot harder every year.

This morning, Raz was in charge of cleaning the dishes left dirty from breakfast. It wasn't the most fun task, but he managed. His family had always been a traveling one, never staying in one place for too long, but they were attempting to change that, in this town... Finally the Spirit family was settling down.

Autumn's voice faded to a soft humming as she heard Alyarin. When the door opened, she grinned and hugged him. "Hullo! Good morning, Alyarin!" She exclaimed, examining his room to note anything that had changed as it often seemed to with her friend. After a few moments, she let go of him and trotted towards the stairs. "Shall we depart?" She asked him, smiling sweetly, "Your parents have yet to wake... but, if we were to be early, t'is a perfect day to practice our magic in the absence of... prying eyes." She rolled her eyes as she said this. One particular colt, who was known to the others as red, had hounded Autumn for months before she had met Al. Although he was merely a minor disturbance now, he still bode unwell... and for both of them. Autumn knew him too well to assume anything otherwise. She motioned towards the stairs, waiting for a reply.

[Alyarin]

Alyarin hugs her gently in response, gaining a cute smile as he does so, pulling away as she did, not really reacting as she checked his room. A few books had moved, with a scientific book on the right side of his desk and a magic research book to the left side of his desk, both open, chair sitting directly in the center.

He looks at her sympathetically, knowing exactly what she meant. She had been treated horribly by Red and the others from the first day he knew her, by Red especially. Al first met her crying in a corner after being hit by and then insulted by Red, who seemed to particularly enjoy picking at the wound that her parents deaths had left. At least, at the time he did. That all changed a few days ago, though...

"While it'd be nice to arrive there before them... I think my parents would worry... Leaving a note may be a good idea, though." He says turning towards the wall, horn glowing as he 'writes' on the wall which faces the door by magically 'pushing forwards' parts of it, though mostly in illusion, forming words, along with setting up a reset system designed to remove the illusion after even the most basic of magic touches it.

"Going to school early today. Cast any spell here >> - <<
and the wall will become normal again."

He turns back to her, smiling, and nods, making eye contact. "Yes... Let's go."

[Frettzo]

Raz grinned and jumping into the air as he finished washing the dishes "Yay! Now- School time!" He yelled, chuckling and running towards the door of the big house, being blocked by his mother, who looked down at him with an amused smile on her face "Now Raz, remember what we've told you, be polite to other ponies and always share what you have if someone else needs it!" She said as she pulled Raz into a hug and nuzzled the side of his face "Love you Razzy" Raz chuckled and hugged her mom back for a second, then pulled away, making his way around her and running out of the house "Love you too mom, bye!" He yelled back to her, quickly getting out of sight as he made his way towards the school he'd be studying in. This was actually his first time studying with other colts and fillies near him, as he hadn't had time to be in schools before. He had been taught some things by his parents, but there was only so much they could do with all the work on the farm.

Autumn had watched Alyarin write the note with growing interest. "What an intelligent thing to do... I'd have never thought of it," She said "and yes, let's."
She made her way down the stairs with Alyarin in tow and opened the door, breaking into a canter. "Now, Al, I have two choices for you... Either we work on maintaining the one-way wards, or... you know what..." She had lowered her voice considerably, taking a furtive glance at her surroundings. Not many ponies even seemed to be outside yet, although there were a few - like themselves - who had decided to come early. Satisfied that nopony was eavesdropping, she turned back to Al and smiled. "So.. what say you?"

[Alyarin]

"I'd have never thought of it" Said Autumn

Al blushed at her words, following her closely as she went down the stairs, rushing through behind her as she opens the door, careful to avoid contact, and yet taking the lazy way of allowing her to open the door. He then evens out his steps, walking with her side-by-side.

"Either we work on maintaining the one-way wards, or... you know what..." Whispered Autumn, glancing around, Al doing the same, before deciding on speaking
"...If we find somewhere quiet and out of the way, I would agree to that... If not, then we go for the one-way wards... I think." He whispered back to her, trying to be as silent as possible.

"What time is it, anyway?" He asked, now back to his normal volume.

[Frettzo]

Raz had been walking for a while now. It was such a long walk that he though he had gotten lost, but amazingly he arrived at the school safe and sound. It was still kind of early, so there weren't many colts or fillies around. Maybe he'd be able to actually make friends, stable friends this time. He was getting tired of making friends and then having to leave them due to his family's constant travelling state. As he sat down on the ground, he poked at his horn, smiling as he remembered what he had been able to do last week- He had unconsciously lifted a fallen leaf with his magic! that was a big feat, considering it was his first time using magic of any kind...

Now, though, he didn't know what to do, or how to learn more. His parents wouldn't be able to help him as they were both Earth Ponies, like his brother, and his grandfather had long since lost any ability to really stay focused, making him unable to teach little Raz how to use his magic.

"The wards seem to be the optimal choice, unless you want to return to my old room here. Although... I would rather not" She replied.
She continued to walk, looking at Alyarin, taking a moment's silence to think of a reply. "I'm afraid I can't tell you, for I have no idea!" She chuckled, before grunting in surprise as she bumped into a colt who had been sitting down. "O-oh my! I'm terribly sorry... I should have been paying more attention. Are you alright? I'm sorry..." She blurted out rather fast, taking a step back and examining him. "You seem new... do we know you?" She asked, nudging Al and tilting her head to the side.. "Do you know this colt?"
