I know this is a serious RP, and I plan to go along with that. She's just naturally silly, is all. I find it all the more worthwhile when she's serious.

    Name: Angela Stroodle
Known by: Death's Ditz (Also known as double Ds)
    Age: 27
    Gender: Female
Appearance: Wears a casual, unbuttoned, black suit and black tie with a white dress shirt underneath. Similiarly matching black pants. About 5'7" and (normally) 132 lbs. Obviously no sword or tatoo.
    Spoiler

    Alignment: Neutral
Conduit Abilities: Weight manipulation. This not only includes herself, but what she touches. She is also able to send weight manipulation from one object to another, as long as it is pre-planned. This has many uses. The most obvious is increasing the weight of a wielded weapon to increase its power. She can also decrease the weight of something to make it more vulnerable. Increasing the weight of air as she punches it to create a shockwave, increasing the weight of her muscles to amplify her strength and speed, or increasing the weight of specific parts of her body to change her center of gravity. There are many uses.

Weapon of Choice: With her powers, nearly anything can become a weapon in her hands. Even a gun's bullet can be amplified with weight to increase its power. If she plans on going into battle, she usually grabs a pipe or something.
Personality: Silly. That's really the only way to describe her. A silly woman that has a diet of 90% chicken. A silly woman that watches horror monster movies not because she gets scared, but because she wants to kick monster butt. A silly woman with a silly dream: to be a hero. Yet not because she wants to save people, its because Angela wants to be showered with praise. And she also wants to kick monster butt. Normal criminals are boring.

Alright then, added you as well.

Also I should mention that if anyone wants an NPC related to their character on the NPC list, just tell me. This won't mean they have to be particularly important, they'll just be there for reference.

Can you add a Michelle Cote? Would be my characters sister, and I think will also be in Chicago and make a few appearances.

It would be cool if you added Prof. David Marklin. I don't want to write more about him really, but he could be on the NPC list as a reference.

    Any open slots?

Also, is this canon, with Cole McGrath, or just with Ray Spheres in some new city (not Empire City or New Marais)?

    /interest
Not sure if you meant to use "your" or "you're"?

Including you, we're looking at 9 player characters (plus a possible two more for 11). That's fine with me, as long as it's fine with you.

Also, this is non-canon (I should probably have put that in the OOC as well! I'll add it in now) and none of the characters will appear from the games. It's taking place in Chicago.

Name: Calvin Mutare, formerly Calvin Garder.

    Known by: The Supremacist.

    Age: 29.

    Gender: Male.

Appearance: Calvin's appearance is very disarming. He stands at around six feet, and has very stark, refined facial features. He's athletic, but not noticeably so, and his tanned skin reveals his affinity for the outdoors even so much as his choice of wardrobe (typically a suit or other formal attire) reveals his love of class. Calvin has very soulful, big blue eyes, and trimmed, well-kept blonde hair. He's almost always wearing a confident smile, and is very skilled at hiding his emotions behind a façade of facial expression and body language. Calvin has a short, trimmed beard that helps frame his face and add a touch of wildness to his otherwise very classical appearance.

    Alignment: Neutral.

Conduit Abilities: Calvin's most useful power is his ability to sense the presence of conduits within a small radius. Calvin can quite literally feel a conduit coming from a certain distance away, and distinguish between conduits and normal people with ease. At close proximity to conduits, Calvin can also distinguish the general nature of a conduit's powers. Calvin's power extend to a greater reach when applied only to non-conduits; Calvin is capable of judging the emotion of non-conduits around him, detecting not only any hostile intent but also innocuous things like what mood they're in. Beyond this "sixth sense", and all activated conduit's innate increased endurance and strength, Calvin can also control the minds of those he judges in a direct way. This particular extends only to non-conduits, and is also Calvin's only power which allows him to directly influence events rather than merely perceive them with greater breadth. Once brought under Calvin's control, a non-conduit can either be allowed to maintain their personality (with Calvin merely exercising an executive control) or be drained of their individuality entirely and rendered an automaton. More direct control requires more focus on Calvin's part, whereas mere tugs and twists at someone's mind can be done without much exhaustion.

Weapon of Choice: A very well used combat knife for quick, accurate strikes with minimal mess.

Personality: Manipulative and cynical. Calvin is capable of making an educated guess as to what personality would best befit an engagement or circumstance, and adjusting himself accordingly. Calvin's base state is a very Machiavellian one-track state of mind, with his goals being the only focus of attention. Calvin is indifferent to affairs of morality, as his arrogance has convinced him that his goals will lead to the greater good, regardless of what means must be fulfilled to achieve them. Calvin looks at very morally focused self-proclaimed guardians with disdain, and finds most administrators of justice childish and naive. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Calvin also holds a burning hatred for what he likes to call societal waste; beggars, career criminals, and misanthropes of varying kinds. Individuals of that calibre are Calvin's primary victims for manipulation, and act as a trough from which Calvin can draw the water that is his mentally controlled assistants and lessers.

History: Calvin grew up as "Calvin Garter", the adopted child of the lower middle class Garter family in down-town Chicago. Throughout his childhood, Calvin's adopted parents, whom had been unable to conceive a child themselves, gave Calvin every available opportunity to succeed. They loved him, and cherished him, and wanted him to grow up to fulfil his dreams. As a young man, though, Calvin quickly displayed a sort of apathy to life, and his success in school. As skilled a student as he was, Calvin didn't really seem to care about how well he did, or anything else for that matter. He was socially inept, too, with few acquaintances, and no real friends. After graduating from High School, Calvin became very interested in his real parents, the ones who had put him up for adoption. He loved his adopted parents, and was grateful to them for raising him, but they understood what Calvin wanted to find, and so gave him a reasonable amount of money to start living on his own and beginning his search for his parents. It was during this search that an event happened which changed Calvin for life, both in regards to his personality and his outlook on life.

Vincent and Isabella Mutare died in a plane crash a year after Calvin began living alone. Calvin had heard about it on the news. A rich couple, the descendants of industrialists, dying in an explosion on board their own private jet. How (not even a little bit) sad. Calvin really only took interest in it when he received a letter in the mail summoning him to the reading of the couple's will. As fortune would have it, they were Calvin's real parents, and they'd left everything they had to Calvin Garter, their biological child. Calvin Garter was Calvin Mutare. Calvin's new-found wealth and estate forced him to radically change himself, arguably for the better. He became much more skilled in social interaction from attempting to manage his biological parents business, and he developed an affinity for high class luxuries like fine clothes and food. It was perhaps this sudden influx of social interaction and dependency that encouraged the development of Calvin's power after the event.

Calvin holds onto an ideology that all men are not created equal. He has always mused, since well before he became an activated conduit, that there are a precious few number of people in the world who are naturally superior to others. With his activation as a conduit, this seedling ideology grew taller and stronger in Calvin's mind, and its enforcement became something of a goal of his - something for him to strive towards. Calvin has assembled an array of weak-minded non-conduits to act as his assistants on his various escapades and attempts to prove conduit superiority, most of whom are drawn from the bottom rung of society both to avoid arousing excess attention and to help invent a sort of Robin Hood image of Calvin as a propagator of class warfare (something which he is very much not).

The personality and history are really good, but I have a few issues with the conduit abilities. The most problematic for me is the mind control ability. I think it's fine as long as it stays that he can only control non-conduits. I don't know if you planned on upgrading it so it could be used on conduits, but going there is far too big a can of worms for me to allow. Beyond that it's fine, just as long as a few non-conduits are immune and that he can't control an entire army of people at once. A mob is fine (As is his various assistants).

As for the rest, I only have a few minor suggestions. Being able to sense conduits at a large range probably isn't a good idea not only for OOC reasons but as there still is quite a number of them around the city that won't be of any importance to the story. I'd much rather if the radius was considered small.

For sensing other conduit's abilities, I don't mind it, but I'd rather it be vague at a distance. For him to get a precise reading of the conduit's abilities, it'd be better if he had to be engaged with the conduit, either through conversation or battle. As for alignment, it's not so much a literal thing, so that should be left out. Personality should be enough to tell him if the character is evil/dangerous/good/heroic or whatever. You could even add a mild mind reading ability if you want, where he can get an idea of a character's past actions and decisions.

As for just glancing at someone, it'd be better if he had to at least concentrate a bit.

And keep in mind, you could always upgrade these later.

    Thanks! Added you in.

I think that's all the profiles we'll be getting, but I think I'll hold off on starting for one more day, if that's okay with everybody.
