Vincent smiles, watching as Novalee and Kara slowly begin to get the hang of the maneuver. Soon, he sees Kara hold up a hand, seeming to be in pain. He slices his arm through the air and the clones dissolve into black clouds. He stepped forward, ready to help her if she needed it, but stopped, watching as she stands, offers to get some drinks, then walks off. "Take your time," he says, "we don't want you to wind up on bed rest."
Vincent walks over to the tree and sits down, starting to feel a throbbing feeling emanate from his head. You went too hard on them, Isaac says, not only slightly angry. I should've known this would happen!
Vincent smiles and says out loud, "You worry too much. Her wound won't heal if she doesn't exercise it."
If he could have, Isaac would have slapped his hand against his face. What kind of logic is that?
Vincent almost replies when he remembers that he and Isaac aren't alone. And you've been talking to me outside of your head... Isaac says, dread filling his voice.
Whoops, Vincent thinks, too late. Even he understands what could happen if his and Isaac's secret gets out. The two of them would be run out, or worse, if the Overseer finds out that Isaac has a borderline homicidal maniac inside of his head. Vincent looks over at Novalee, hoping she wasn't paying attention to the seemingly one-sided conversation, and asks, "Do you wanna wait for her to get back or do you wanna keep going?"
