The Hunted

[Absolute Grace]

Kara held a hand over her mouth as she jumped back in fright. Her legs tangled themselves causing her to fall over, blood drained from her face and her heart thundered in her ears. The person in front of her looked human. There was no way that she would take this person to The Haven. She shakily stood up and shook her head.
" I will never betray my family. If you want to get to the Haven, human, you will never get there. So just kill me quickly!"

Tokei growls as he sniff around for the Werewolf he just smelt a moment ago. He glares at him when he saw he was behind Kara. He charges him again growling at the new werewolf. He uses his claws to attack the werewolf. He looks mean hoping to scare off the other werewolf.

Jordan saw Tokei rush from the woods as Kara fell over in fright. He hunched over, waiting for the other wolf-anoid to make contact. The strike from his claws fell short as Jordan back stepped. Obviously this one was young and inexperienced in combat as a werewolf.

Jordan jumped backwards, starting to get annoyed. "Your scent is weak youngling!" He yelled, his canine teeth beginning to show once again. "Don't be stupid! The Hunters will find us if we leave too much of a trail!" He growled, his teeth returning back to normal and Jordan sighing as he stood up straight again.

They both seemed like they could be trusted, unless this boy attacked him again, then he was in for a rude awakening. Jordan had fought plenty of enemies before, both human and un-human alike, and knew what it took to rip someones throat out.

When the younger werewolf pounced an attack at the man who jumped backwards, Kara noticed the mans canine teeth and felt guilty. She held her hands and bowed an apology.
"I am so very sorry for my out burst before, I thought that you were a... But you are not, I can see that now." Her heart rate had begun to go back to normal. As she was waiting for a reply, while looking at the ground, she noticed that there were well defined tracks. Her reflex made her wings flutter so that she was hovering over the ground by a few inches.
"He is right. I guess the others will just have to make it until tomorrow, when I will go look for them again." She said looking at the both of them and realised that she needed to introduce herself. "By the way my name is Kara and I am a dryad and a fairy. I am pleased to meet you both. I shall lead you to The Haven so you can have something to eat and I will arrange somewhere for you to sleep."

" Hello my name is Tokei. It's nice to meet you. " Tokei looks at the other werewolf wearily. He lived by himself for so long he's never really been in a werewolf society. It's going to be hard for him to adjust to this but he's going to try as best. " I know I'm bad at fighting. I want to learn that I've never really lived with other werewolves. I'm sorry....... "He stands up on its hind legs and hold out his hand to shake the other werewolves hand. He hopes that he can at least get along with everyone. He then looks at Kara hoping that she is not mad at him.

Drake trekked quietly through the forest attempting to reach Haven as quick as possible. Hunters could be anywhere so he moved quickly. Luckily he had picked up control of his abilities so he was no longer burning the grass each step. In fact because he was a phoenix he was nearly weightless. Leaving no more a track than the look of an erased pencil mark. He could hear voices from a distance. But they were not the same. One group spoke to his mind and the other to his ears.

Drake rolled his eyes. He wasn't much for riddles and he wasn't enjoying the annoying voices. Either way he was hesitant to ignore or believe the voices. If he neglected them then he may not find what they were pointing him towards. But if he did change here he may risk endangering the forest...

Fine He thought But not all the way

Drake focused and suddenly allowed wings to sprout. As they began to smolder he stopped. In result he ended up with two large crimson wings that weren't burning. He gave a silent "Yes!" and leaped off into the air floating toward the voices he could hear because of his improved senses. Being a bird had it's perks. Soon he could see the group speaking. That's when life decided to hit him in the face. His wings disintegrated before his eyes as he lost control and dropped to the ground with a solid thump.

Jordan extended his hand, shaking Tokei's with a fierce grip, which was normal for him. Looking at Kara, he smiled.

"I am Jordan. We should get going, it is getting dark, and it will be hard to outrun the Hunters when they begin searching." He looked back at Tokei. "It is okay, but know that if you attack in the world we live in, it is a challenge," he paused, letting go of the boy's hand. "And only one person comes out of a challenge." He left it at that, turning his body to them and looking up at the sky, which was setting beautifully.

"Where is the Haven?" Jordan asked openly, watching the sun slowly moving down. He grabbed onto his necklace that was swaying in the breeze. His mother had given him the pendant, one that he held dear. He knew he had to do this, to find this place and somehow strike back at the hunters who had made his life hell.

At that moment, a figure fell from the sky which he was looking at, a boy with wings. Firey wings. When he landed, Jordan stepped to him, helping him up.

"Who are you?" He asked, knowing already that this being must have been searching for the Haven as well.

Drake blinked quickly trying to catch his bearings. He looked up to see one of the people trying to help him up. He happily accepted as he was still a little boggled from the fall. He heard the man's question and stood up straight to answer. Looking the man over as he did so.

"My name is Drake. And you are?"

Drake glanced towards the other two people there. Quickly picking up that one of them was werewolf and after swiftly re-examining the man before him realized that both of them were. The third person was a girl of smaller stature though the wings on her back clearly made it apparent that she was not human. He relaxed a little bit at the fact that he was not in the presence of a hunter.

"I take it you are all looking for Haven as well?"

Tokei laughs " Kara knows where haven is" he walks up to drake and hold out his hand. He hopes that he could be friends with drake. He also hopes that the others don't find out about his past. He wouldn't want to have to explain to them about it. He has a hard time thinking about that. He would rather leave the past in the past. He smiles at the others putting on a facade.

Kara smiled as the two werewolves shook hands, glad that they were no longer attacking each other. Tokei and Jordan will fit right into the life of The Haven, well as long as they can control the anger usually associated with werewolves. She laughed at the look in Tokei's face.

"Don't worry I am not mad at you. Better safe than sorry is what the Overseer always says." She told him still smiling but froze with her smile fading to worry.

"Oh no the Overseer! I said that I would be backfore the sunset. Quick follow me" She ran in a panic and then there was a loud thud as something fell from the sky. She pointed to the sky then to the figure and continued a few more times trying to find something to say but gave up and stood beside the figure.

"Are you alright?" She finally burst out.
