Typically involving monsters (usually my own creations), I find horror involving things like serial-killers to be very... well, not horror. Maybe it's a faith in humanity thing, but whenever I see a horror movie involving a serial killer they just don't horrify me. Most of them pale in comparison to what some people actually DO do to one another.
That's true. It's always fun to play by your own rules with your own creatures. Kind of why I have been dabbling in D&D-esque horror writing as of late.
