to Advance: Medieval, historical role play, 1x1

A lot of text, but please consider reading all of it. I came up with the plot a while ago, and it can be edited to the liking of my partner, but I really want to try this one.
Setting:
It’s the middle of the 16th century, the countries of Europe are warring over land and wealth, determined to become emperors. England, who has been under attack of Spain, and continuous threats from Scotland, decides they are willing to sign a peace treaty with the French, and to create their new alliance with a royal wedding. To ‘prove’ their growing wealth and power to the Spanish, the French King and Queen bring their children and a small court to England, to stay for several months before and after the wedding of their eldest daughter, to the prince of England. Their other two children, another daughter and son are brought along, ready to see their sister be married and peace to become their land. However, the younger of the sisters has no plans on marrying an Englishmen, and is willing to find any way out of the coursed land, even treason.

“The Duke”
Jack (or whatever his name will end up being) was a solider for the Crown, returning to England after a horrible defeat with Scotland. The English King had wanted the borders protected, and their small troop of men had failed miserably. The survivors were left with nothing. So, homeless and poor, the small group decides to steal some of the wealth the King was gaining from taxation and the royal wedding. While on their journey they come across a pile of dead bodies, soldiers and knights making their way to court. As they pick the pockets of the men, trying to find any free coins, Jack finds a man still living, a Duke who is close to his death. The Duke tells the soldier about the death of his son, and as his dying wish asked him to pose as his son at the English Court. Honoring the dying man, Jack agrees. What better way to get to the jewels then from inside the castle, posing as a Duke?

So the plot I have so far is the “The Duke” arriving at court a few weeks after the arrival of the French court, determined to blend in and wait for the opportune moment to set his plot in motion. However, after meeting the youngest daughter of the French, who discovers him for what he truly is, he finds himself with an accomplice. The princess made a deal with him, promising not only to keep his secret, but to supply him with information if he escorts her home when he leaves England. Grudgingly he accepts, and the next few months he plots with the princess, while dealing with the scandals of his new life at court.

So I’m looking for someone willing to take on this plot with me. The character I’m looking for is the solider posing as the Duke, but I would be willing to double as a male, if you wanted, and many other characters since an English court is huge, and typically full of scandal. Other then the basic information about the Duke, feel free to change him around, and work on a back story, I kept him vague for a reason.

I should note this is going to be realistic, in the fact that it is not a simple, princess/commoner love story. I don’t except you to know any history of the time, since no historical figures will be brought in, but to know that England was no wonderland. The weather was drastic, the castles drafty, animals running around, and some unpleasant people. Scandal surrounded the court, and the more twist we can develop the better.

I don't really have too many requirements, just that we have open communication and are willing to help build the plot and see where it goes.
I would prefer causal to advance, so around 2 paragraphs, or more depending on the situation.
