The Plot:
A human woman who went by the name of Yuri, though she was an Exorcist, had a unique view of demons, believing they entered Assiah because they were curious. She even went as far as to fraternize with Satan, allowing him to possess her body so she could show him life in Assiah. Eventually she became pregnant with Satan's children and the result was two twin boys, one named Yukio and the other Rin. Rin inherited Satan's powers and demonic appearance while Yukio was too fragile to do so and came out looking more like his human mother than his demon father. The two grew up close as brothers though, in reality, they couldn't be anymore different. Yukio became an Exorcist at a young age and Rin dropped out of school after junior high with only limited knowledge of Exorcists and their workings.
The two lived in a monastery with a man by the name of Shiro Fujimoto who acted as their biological father. Shiro sealed Rin's powers at birth within an ancient sword known as the Kurikara, a demon slaying sword, with the help of a certain someone, thus allowing Rin to live as a human.
However, this only lasted 15 years, when a fateful incident involving Father Fujimoto occurred. A number of demons headed by one named Astaroth came for Rin but Shiro arrived just in time to exorcise the demon and to get Rin back to the monastery and safety. However, Astaroth was determined and returned, once again possessing the body of a young boy by the name of Shiratori before pursuing Rin once more.
Back at the monastery, Rin was given the demon-slaying sword, Kurikara, and told that he was the son of Satan, that his satanic powers were sealed inside and that if he drew it, he could never return to being human. Shiro then locked Rin in the room where he had given him the sword and a phone with a single number in the contact list just as the demons arrived only to have Rin break out when the fight was nearly over.
The fight ended shortly after and that's when the father told him to call the only phone number in the contacts list again of the phone he had given him earlier. Hurt and confused, Rin believed Shiro was tired of acting as his father and only wanted to get rid of him. Rin snapped and told Shiro he should stop pretending to be his father, which resulted in Shiro slapping Rin hard across the face.
Rin's words hurt Shiro's heart and broke down his will, thus resulting in his being possessed by Satan, who opened the Gehenna Gate and tried to drag Rin through it. However, Shiro regained control of his body briefly with a burst of willpower long enough to take his own life, thus causing Satan to lose control of his body. Yet both Rin and Shiro's body were being drug into the gate with Rin unable to break free of it. Despite the consequences he had been warned about, Rin drew Kurikara, thus releasing his demon side and his powers, which he used to destroy the gate though it was too late as Shiro was already dead.
Rin decided to become an Exorcist to destroy Satan and was accepted into True Cross Academy with the help of Mephisto Pheles. He trained alongside his classmates with the warning ingrained in his head to avoid using Satan's power too much or it may cause unforeseen disasters.
Rin tried his hardest to listen to this advice but things did not work out the way he planned; circumstances kept arising where he was forced to use the powers, whether it was to save someone he cared about or someone else was forcing him to use them. Later on in his training as an Exwire and as Rin kept using the powers, he began to change. His demon features became more prominent, almost impossible not to notice, and he seemed to become angrier and even power hungry.
Finally, one day came when Rin was alone, Yukio being off on his own business, Satan called out to him. Far gone and twisted by now, Rin listened to his father's offer of power which could only come by opening the Gate of Gehenna and allowing it to take over Assiah. Rin allowed Satan to possess his body and immediately they went to work on summoning the Gehenna Gate. Many came to try and slay Rin but he fought back violently, his powers enhanced by Satan's presence in his body. The gate stayed open even as he fought, demons straying out of it by the hundreds, wreaking havoc on Assiah as Gehenna fought to overcome the pure world.
Eventually Assiah could no longer resist and succumbed to Gehenna, much to Satan's glee. He watched in twisted satisfaction as humans began to morph into the various creatures of Gehenna, some receiving subtle changes and others receiving much more drastic ones. He laughed hysterically in triumph though his laugh was cut short by an inhuman roar tearing from the body he currently inhabited. With his tail lashing in anger and intense blue flames surrounding his body, Rin snarled at his father.
"This is my world, you bastard! Get out of my body NOW!"
The flames grew even more intense and the air was filled with an ear-piercing wail that sounded utterly inhuman and terrifying. The wail kept up for several long moments, growing more pained with each passing second until it abruptly stopped.
Rin stood still for several moments before glancing out at his morphed subjects, a sadistic grin spreading across his features, revealing his full mouth of pointed teeth.
"Welcome to Gehenna, your new home."
Do you enjoy being a newly born demon or do you hate Gehenna with all your heart and want to go back to being human? There are rumors spreading that there is a group that wants to bring back Assiah as well, ones that Rin himself has even heard, though nothing is known about this group, such as who is in it or if it even exists. Will you seek out the rebel group, will you take things into your own hands or are you content to sit and enjoy your new life?
The Setting:
The setting is going to be the world of Gehenna though we're going to have to take some liberties with it since it wasn't shown in the anime. Since it's overtaken Assiah, I intend for some of Assiah's original structures to remain, such as the monastery where Rin and Yukio lived and True Cross Academy though it will have an addition where Rin lives, isolated from all those who want to kill him.
The Species:
Demons:
Pure-blood Demons: The pure-blood demons are the ones who lived in Gehenna originally and did not transform when their world took over Assiah. They are typically the most favored in the world of Gehenna too, being granted special privileges over the reborn demons, who are believed to be inferior because they were once human. Not all pure-bloods think this way, of course, but many do. Pure-blood demons have a sub-species/race within the class of demon, which can be anything from a simple animal to something from mythology/folklore of any origin.
Reborn Demons: The reborn demons consist of those who were once human that turned into demons when Gehenna took over Assiah. When they transformed, each one suffering varying degrees of transformation, some gained demonic features such as claws, a tail, pointed ears and/or fangs while some changed shape entirely. If they changed shape entirely, the one human trait they maintained aside from their memories from/of being a human was their ability to talk, thus allowing them to communicate with those around them. They also gained new powers when they transformed, which are completely up to you decide what they gained. Just like pure-blood demons, reborn demons also have a sub-specie/race that they belong too, which can be anything from a simple animal to something from mythology/folklore of any origin as well.
Angels:
Types:
Pure Blooded - These are the angels that serve God's will, representing Divinity in its purest form.
Hybrid - These are the offspring of angels and humans; by natural law, they are not supposed to exist, and a hybrid's birth holds extreme consequences.
Fallen - These are angels that have fallen from grace, due to their own sinister ways, or crimes that they wittingly or unwittingly committed. If their crime was serious enough, their wings will have been revoked, stripping them of their powers, and condemning them to mortal life.
Dark - These are the angels that are condemned to life in Gehenna, making them a putrid mix of angelic and demonic power, making them virtually invincible, and nearly impossible to destroy. Only God and Satan are powerful enough to defeat these creatures, who regardless of their past, will have become corrupted and mindlessly cruel.
Pure Blooded Angels:
Appearance: Pure blooded angels often have trademark traits, consisting of hair and eyes of unusual coloration, and a natural glow or 'aura'. Their most distinguishable trait is their wings, though, which can often span from nine to twelve feet.
Life Span: Pure blooded angels are considered ageless, often appearing both young and old at once. They do not age, and do not die by natural means -- this does not mean they are immortal, as they can wounded, and they can be killed, though it is significantly more difficult to fatally wound a pure blooded angel than any human being.
Abilities: All pure blooded angels have the same abilities. However, individuals can strengthen individual abilities with practice, giving each angel a unique skill set based on how they utilize their skills.
*Wings: An angel's wings do not grant the power of flight. Rather, they can be considered a storage cell, of sorts, in which all of their angelic power is kept and drawn from. This makes the wings an angel's single most important attribute.
*Grace: All angels have the ability to produce and manipulate this energy. It often appears as a bright white light, and is highly flexible and fluid; it can appear as a soft orb of light, or become a laser beam of deadly energy. It acts very similarly to holy water.
*Holy Voice: An angel's true voice is typically interpreted as a shrill, often ear-piercing, high-pitched sound to mortal ears. It is often unbearable for demons to hear. Angels are capable of mimicking any sounds, enabling them to sound like any person or creature of their choosing. Their songs contain high levels of Grace and holy power, allowing them to cleanse entire areas of demonic presence.
*Super Human Strength: All angels possess an abnormal amount of strength, at a level unable to be gained by mortals.
*Levitation: While they cannot fly, all angels have the ability to levitate several yards above the ground, and travel by these means.
*Healing: All pure blooded angels have the ability to heal humans, though only to an extent. Otherwise fatal wounds are impossible to heal, even for angels.
*Invisibility: All angels have the ability to render themselves unseen and unheard by mortals.
Limitations:
*Angels are not immortal.
*All power is stored in the wings; therefore, if the wings are damaged or removed, the angel will lose its abilities.
*Are not capable of flight.
*Using too much power at once will severely deplete an angel's energy levels.
Hybrids:
Appearance: Hybrids typically will inherit only one unusual trait, in addition to their wings. When a hybrid has been found, however, they will often have their wings revoked.
Life Span: Hybrids tend to age at a slower rate than mortals as they grow older. Thus, a child or teen would not look unusual, but a middle aged hybrid would appear unusually young and vibrant, and a senior would be unnaturally healthy and lively. While Hybrids seem to have a bit more resistance and tolerance to wounds, it is far easier to kill them than a pure blooded angel.
Abilities: Hybrids do not possess nearly as much power as full blooded angels. Typically, they will inherit all of the angelic parent's powers, but only be capable of utilizing half of its power.
*Epigenetics: Hybrids can inherit their angelic parent's skills at their different skill levels. For example, if an angel were to have spent years training it's healing abilities, and mostly ignoring its invisibility, the offspring would inherit a much stronger affinity over healing than invisibility.
*Wings: All hybrids inherit wings, the center and origin of their power. Without wings, they would be mere mortals.
*Grace: All hybrids possess this energy. While it may not be as strong as a full blooded angel's Grace, it still exists, as it is what separates angels from mortals. Some hybrids may be able to manipulate and utilize it, while others may have little to no control over it.
Limitations:
*Hybrids are considered criminals due to their existence alone. Because of this, they will often lead lives of hardship.
*Often, someone will be sent to strip these unnatural beings of their wings, rendering them completely mortal.
*However, if this process is interrupted, the hybrid often keeps one ability, the strongest one it had inherited from its parent.
*Using their abilities often takes both a physical and mental toll on their health, and can be incredibly straining.
Fallen Angels:
Appearance: Fallen angels usually still possess all of their unusual traits, but without the bright glow of purity. Typically, their wings will be crippled, with darkening feathers, which begin to rot over time, unless they have been removed. They maintain an 'aura' of normalcy, which surrounds them and makes them appear human to the mortals around them.
Life Span: Simply put, once a fallen angel has lost its status, it will begin to age as a normal human, often starting from somewhere in the mid-thirties. They lose virtually all of their abilities, making them painfully easy to wound and kill.
Abilities: Fallen angels have had all of their power removed, leaving them without any particular abilities. Some may possess hints of enhanced strength, but will no longer have any otherworldly skills.
Limitations: Again, as a fallen angel no longer possesses the mark and favor of the heavens, it is virtually powerless outside of human capabilities.
Dark Angels:
Appearance: Dark Angels will posses a terrifying kind of strength and presence, gaining an entirely new 'aura', consisting of fear and darkness. Their hair, eyes, and wings will be cursed, making them black. They always possess demonic traits, such as pointed ears, sharpened teeth, and horns or tails.
Life Span: It is unknown how long dark angels are capable of living, as they have almost always been defeated by Satan, or have gone into hiding.
Abilities: Dark angels possess all of the same powers as full blooded angels, along with a few gained skills. They choose only to use these powers to harm, rather than help; therefore, their abilities to heal are virtually wasted on them.
*Telekinesis: The ability to move and influence objects with their mind.
*Teleportation: Dark angels can teleport anywhere in the world, as long as necessary precautions have not been taken against them (see limitations).
*Sedation: Dark angels have the ability to induce unconsciousness in humans, demons, and angels alike, for varying amounts of time based on the victim's personal strength and will.
*Telepathy: Dark angels have the ability to communicate with their minds, and often influence or even take over the minds of others, again, depending on the strength of the individual. They are capable of manipulating, changing, adding, and/or removing specific memories.
*Resurrection: Some dark angels are capable of bringing back deceased beings from the depths of Gehenna. Bear in mind, this pertains to dead souls of humans, not demons.
*Pyrokinesis: Dark angels have almost absolute control over the blue flames of Gehenna, which have been infused with their own dark energy. This substance is destructive and deadly, but useless against things that have been protected with holy water.
Limitations:
*Dark angels have no soul and no heart. Therefore, they cannot properly die, nor properly live, placing them in a hellish state of agony and anguish, which often infects their mental state. In short, most dark angels will have gone insane, making it possible to trick or outsmart them, though it isn't easy.
*Their nebulous mental state puts them in an unusually vulnerable position from time to time, when they might be overcome with emotions or past memories. This is incredibly difficult to induce, but not impossible, as it has been documented to be a successful tactic.
*While they are powerful, they are still beings of Gehenna, making them susceptible to high grades of powerful holy water. If one should manage to trap a dark angel, or be able to predict where he or she might teleport, preparing a good dosage of this substance will almost definitely seal their defeat.

Description: Since he fell victim to his powers, his humanity has practically disappeared and now that he's in Gehenna, he has a full demon appearance. His mouth is full of pointed teeth and his ears are longer than they used to be, ending in sharp points. He also displays his tail proudly, not hiding it beneath his shirt any longer. Quite often he can be seen surrounded in blue flames, a sign of his birthright as Satan's son. Surprisingly he stills wears the True Cross Academy uniform though he no longer attends the school for his safety. It consists of a loose black, red and white necktie, a white shirt, black pants and a black jacket with white lining. When out and about, he carries the Kurikara sword slung over his shoulder in a red sleeve.

Personality: Rin has changed and is more prone to angry outbursts than before. He is merciless and kills with reckless abandon when he sees fit. His soft spot for animals still shows though, particularly when Kuro, his familiar, is around. His presence brings out some of Rin's former gentleness and shows others a side of him long lost. He likes to be alone usually and doesn't trust easily, as he knows there's a lot of people out there that probably want his head, particularly this rebel group he's heard rumors of but has never seen yet.
History: He was born from Yuri, his mother, a human, and Satan, who was his demon father, alongside his twin brother, Yukio. Their mother died shortly after giving birth to them, however, and the two were adopted by Father Fujimoto, who acted as their foster father ever since after sealing Rin's demon powers inside the Kurikara sword, thus allowing him to live as a human. The father and the rest of the members of the monastery tried to defend Rin from Astaroth and succeeded though Rin believed that Shiro wanted to get rid of him when he gave him his cell phone and told him to call the only number in it. Rin snapped and hurt Shiro's feelings by telling the old man to stop pretending to be his father, thus causing him to be possessed by Satan when his will was broken down by Rin's words. Satan tried to drag Rin through the Gehenna gate after opening it but Shiro regained his willpower and took his life, causing Satan to lose control over his body. Race and species: He is a pure-blood demon, known as an Oni.
Alliance: He does what he pleases, not fearing Rin nor siding with the rebellion. However, he is against killing, being a surprisingly peaceful demon though he always carries a sword with him that he is more than ready to use. Often times he tries to get in between the fighting, expressing a strong desire to stop it.
Description: He has long light brown hair with long bangs that slightly cover his right eye and rest gently against his left cheek. He always keep it tied back in a smooth ponytail by a white band. For clothes he wears baggy white pants and a baggy white shirt beneath a green and tan tunic with scaled shoulder guards coming off of it. Covering his entire forearm is a brown arm guard with the textural appearance of wood except for the clasps, which are a solid dark brown and light tan. His hazel eyes are slanted beneath thin dark brown eyebrows while his mouth is usually set in a firm line. He has a separate form he can change into though he usually tries to hide it, only changing into it when he's in a fight or when he believes he's found someone worthy of seeing his true self, which doesn't happen much. In this form, two white horns sprout from his head, his eyes change gold and his hair changes snow white.
Personality: He is peaceful, kind and down-to-earth. He's quiet and keeps to himself a lot though, when he does become your friend, he's loyal, nice to the point of being considered sweet, and even a bit of a charmer, sometimes saying things that put him in awkward spots with women. He is mysterious though and isn't always easy to read despite the easy life he's carved out for himself.
History: He has lived in Gehenna all his life and is well aware of how demons naturally are though he practically detests them for their violence. He strives to be peaceful, something he believes he inherited from his gentle mother while he believes his constant interference during fights is something he inherited from his father, who always intervened in things that weren't his business. He learned how to use the sword from his father, also receiving his sword from him for his fifteenth birthday. He's a loner, having no friends, only acquaintances, and has never even dated in his life nor expressed any desire to. He had a simple life otherwise and set out on his own at the age of twenty, making his living by giving sword lessons and doing the occasional job on the side for demons in need.
