Hello everyone and welcome to my interest check. I've been on a long hiatus due to personal issues. However, that time has passed, and while the role plays that I was in before are still ongoing, I'm craving a Final Fantasy role play. A few things before I talk about the plots:
I tend to favor high casual to advance. Before I scare anyone off with the advance header, please bear with me for a moment longer and allow me to explain. Though I do prefer lengthy and longer posts, I have no problem with shorter ones. All I ask is two solid paragraphs with character depth and development. However, if you give me more, which I'll love you if you do, I'll happily reciprocate your efforts! Give me gold, and I'll give you some as well!
I have no limits concerning mature elements. I expect violence, blood, and swearing. Within story plots that are adversarial based, it's only natural for these elements to unfold. However, some realism and sense is warranted. If romance does unfold, I expect it to be developed and subtle. I'm not looking for an erotica, but mutual relationships and feelings instead. If you're expecting explicit sex scenes then this may not be the thread for you.
I prefer threads over PM. I tend to lose track of role plays that occur within private messaging, so I usually don't do them. Sorry if that doesn't jib with you, but I see role playing as a story where not only us, the tellers, can experience it, but others can as well if they so wish to.
I'm perfectly capable of doing any type of pairing. That's right. Though my strongest characters are females, we can do MxF, FxF, or MxM. However, if romance will be involved, I can only do a MxF or FxF. I'm very uncomfortable with MxM romances ...
I will do my best to notify you of absence. In the past, I've done a very poor job at this; however, if I will be gone for a good amount of time, I will give you a heads up. Let me also know if this will be the case for you.
I'll, for the most part, lead the story. Though I have the story mapped out in my head, I welcome your ideas and twists that can deviate from what I have planned. Improvisation is golden. Don't be afraid to try something, for, in many cases, I will love you for it and respond accordingly. I think if the system is laid out like this, not only will the story be fun for you, but it'll be fun for me as well! Your my sentient, thoughtful partner brimming with ideas, so I expect you to contribute! Throw them out, and we'll see where it takes us!
If you find that your bored with out story tell me. We can either make it exciting again by brainstorming together or drop it. I promise I won't throw a fit. Honest.

XIII Cross. World. Immerse
It is the year 2120 on Earth as humanity has progressed technologically with new advances and innovations in Science and Life. The study of Magic is also sought after, but only few had the gift to create these phenomena's that scientists continually study. Though the discoveries have yielded many benefits, the process to achieving these goals has left the Earth in a state despair as great megapolises stretch as far as the eye can see. Though there were no consequences initially for humanities thirst for knowledge and power, Gaia the life stream of the Earth, has decided to punish her foolish children.
During the year of 2121, six great meteors fell from the sky. Five fell onto the Earth's surface while a single fell into the great oceans. From these falling stars came beings that humanity had never seen before. Though the olive branch of truce was extended, the beings rejected this and listened to what Gaia had ordered them to do.
So began the purge. The newly dubbed, Fal'Cie's, created horrible beings that swept through the militaristic might of humanity's retaliation. After months of fighting, what remained of the once proud race withdrew away from their great cities. Only a three nations, Dalmecia, Romanastre, and Amaris remained. The three nations came to together to form an agreement to ally with one another though the alliance was wrought with tension. Thus, Dalmecia, the nation of Innovation, Romanastre, the nation of War, and Amaris, the nation of Magic, are tasked with resisting the Fal'Cie's. As war wages ever onwards, Gaia has long since been silent as she endures the destruction taking place. Her hope in her once thriving children was all but lost as her ears are deaf to her children's pleas. This was her gift; her lesson; her punishment.

This is a story that takes many factors from XIII, yet still allows us great flexibility and freedom to create a world that we see fit. There's huge potential in this, for we can take the story any direction we'd like. I definitely hope someone takes me up on this.
XIII Alt. Real. Tainted Fal'Cie
Memories of the great world of Cocoon still burns fresh in the minds of all as the citizens of Cocoon find themselves stepping onto a world where they had grown up fearing. They had arrived on Gran Pulse, which was only the beginning of their long journey to recovery.
After months had passed, the survivors had established many small villages scattered throughout the wide plains of Pulse. The events that brought them to their new home was never forgotten, for the great floating crystallized Cocoon sits high in the sky as a reminder to the past where humans were once lavished in the false luxuries of the Fal'Cie.
When everything was beginning to settle down and the new inhabitants had finally adapted to the land, disconcerting rumors began to circulate around the settlements as personnel of the newly established Guardian Command - led by Lightning, one of the hero's of Cocoon's liberation from Fal'Cie hands - whisper of creatures. The rumors spoke of creatures - like those that roamed the vast plains of Gran Pulse - that were as black as the shadows creeping under the moon's light and held a crimson gleam. What this could be? No one can say for sure.
Though rumors for now, a being, long forgotten from the world, stirs from its dreams and restless slumber as the bindings created by the other Fal'Cie loosen and break away. Now, a new malice emerges that threatens the fragile life on Gran Pulse as its hunger for revenge resurfaces.

This is a post Final Fantasy XIII alternative. I was't really too fond of FF XIII-2, so I thought it'd be more interesting to play this out instead. The canon characters will be present, but our characters, unless you can convince me otherwise, will be OCs. The canons are there for story devices and progression.
