    Divinus: The Deity Role Play

    Divinus: The Deity Role Play
Ever Wanted To Role Play A Deity? Have you done it already? Want to again? Hopefully yes.
The universe of the past has been totally destroyed by an unknown force, now another one has been put in it's place. The world below can hardly be called a world at all. All that's left is a vast mass of rock waiting to be remade in the new god's image. So as the new gods come into place in this brand new universe, they will recreate life on the world, create new magics, make new people's and nations, and lead heroes and villains in their new roles in this role playing setting. This is a Mid/High-Casual role play. Technically High Casual, but I'm lenient when it comes to these things, few things bother me in a role play other than god-modding and one liners. Use proper capitilization and try to punctuate as best as you can. Use appropriate grammar, but I"m lenient even on just a tiny bit on grammar and occasionally things like capitilization and punctuation, since they are such small mistakes easily made. (See, that wasn't even good grammar there).

All the gods know there is an Ultimate Force in the setting, this Ultimate Force is beyond even Fate. Oh, and that brings me to Fate. Fate is another overwhelming force in the universe that perplexes even the majority of, if not all of, the gods. Ultima, that is, the Ultimate Force, is a living person, or force, as it were, just as Fate is. The power of Ultimate is greater than the gods, and it would be unlikely, if not impossible, that the gods will be able to defeat it or fight it for a loong time. (Although it may be possible if the role play gets off the ground and is played long enough). Fate, is a force of the future, past, present, time and well, Fate. There is an upside to having these two powerful forces in the setting for the gods though. They aren't just there to look awesome and be better than you. Ultima and Fate can be approached for special favors and powers. How you gain favor and power from these two forces is up to you, and should be explored in character during game play.

So, without further ado, here's the character sheet:
    Name:
Domains/Portfolios: (Will explain these two after the character sheet is done)
Alignment: (Good, Evil, Indifferent or some kind of variant of Good or Evil. For example, if your a guy who's extremely into law but who's benevolent and uses law for the good of the setting, Lawful Good is your alignment. If your a Jackboot fascist, you're a Lawful Evil).
    Personality:
    Apperance:
MusicTheme: (Optional but really wanted to add some spice to the game).
Description: (What is the essence of the character? For example, if they are a god of war, are they a savage killer, a shrewd tactician or warrior king type of war god? If they are a god of magic, are they a wise type of mage, or an evil, wicked witch. etcetera. Make this part interesting. ).

    Other:
    Domains/Portfolios:
There tends to always be a bit of confusion about domains vs portfolios, so I am going to address that. On your deity, they should be phrased Domain (Portfolio). Domains and portfolios represent elements that your deity governs; what you are the god of. They should generally be one or two words, and clear aspects. The difference between domain and portfolio is that domain is broader. You are god of everything within a domain, but partial to the part inside your portfolio. For example, a god with Water (Oceans) has powers that extend to all water, but especially so in oceans. The main reason we do this is for flavor. No two gods may have the same portfolio, but two gods may have the same domain.

    Might:
Units Of Power In This Role Play Are called "Might". Might can be seen as "MP" in other games. They are used to perform ecspecially powerful and strong acts of power from a Deity. Deities will be able to eventually gain new Domains/Portfolios through spending Might, and that's not all.

You see, typically, a Deity can spend absolutely no Might points at all to raise a very small island from the waters, or extend a continent/island by up to 22,000 square miles per "Turn". (Turns are ambigious and will be explained after Might is explained).
However, if you spend "Might" to raise land up from the Earth, you will be able to create a land the size of Alaska.

The following is a list of common uses of "Might":
1 Might: Raising the Land/Create Sea: As stated, you can create a piece of land on the waters in an ocean (Or in the case of this new world, replace the barren land and fill with with a sea of water around the same size in nautical terms)

1 Might: Make Hero: You can create an extremely exceptional hero/warrior or other person of renowned talent/skill and power. Those imbaued with such power also gain immortality.

1 Might: - Bless/Curse: Blesses and Curses are the will of the gods made manifest. They can range from a golden age for an empire, or to increase the mortal population. The population that finds themselves under the pleasure of a god will find their crops prosperous and their ways smoothed, as the subtle magic of the god is worked in their favor, The population that finds themselves under the curse of a god will find their crops barren and their land blighted, as the subtle magic of the god works against them. . Blesses and Curses can be countered by other gods, however.

1 Might: - Censure/Praise: You use Censure/Praise actions on individuals or small groups of people not societies or whole organizations. Unlike Bless/Curse this action can be more severe, like turning someone to stone or bringing back one person back from the dead.

1 Might: Form Society: Form Society allows a god to organize life into grouping beyond simple hunter-gatherer tribes or wandering monsters. This action can be used to set up governments and armies, and even specific things like a mage's guild or an order of knights. (A well established army will obviously be better suited for a prolonged conflict than ill equipped savages. This is represented by the fact that Mortals in societies may use advanced concepts for combat. Mortals not in any society may not. A mortal may only be part of one society at any given time.

1 Might Set Portal : A portal is a permanent connection between two places. Deities and magic can create temporary portals, but you can use this action to create a permanent one. Alternatively, use this action to create a hotspot for mana of a different world. For example, you could create permanent strong magical connections between the dungeons of a castle and your world of death, leaving deposits of negative energy.

So When May I Do An Action Without Might?:
Well, it depends on what you intend to do. You can introduce concepts to a civilization, such as invention or a kind of magic for FREE Once and only Once a turn. For example, you can teach a primitive hunter-gatherer group semi-advanced agriculture (For example, advancing a Stone Age Tribe to Ch'in's superior agricultural techniques is acceptable, but suddenly having Unk the Clubman riding around a vast farm of many acres with a tractor isn't.) Sometimes it will take one extra turn after teaching your society something for it to take into effect if it's exceptionally dramatic enough.

BUT, if you want to really pump up the juice and teach your civilization extremely powerful magic that would help them have a good edge over their competitors, you would need to spend Might. For example, if you had a civilization of people who knew "The Force" (A Concept that in it'self would need Might to introduce) You would need to spend at least 1 Might (Maybe more) To introduce the concept of "Jedi" to them.

    Further More:
There are ways to earn greater strength with your deities. You must spend 3, 4, and 5 might, respectively, to advance in levels. Of course, we all start at level 1 as Deities. Increased Level is basically the "Power" of your player Deity. A Level 4 Deity, for example, can, under most instances, defeat a Level 1 Deity easily, but even then, you must role play the combat encounter with your enemy fairly. There are ways to defeat high level Deities. Below is an example of a BAD Deity "Fight".

BigAndBadassia, the God of Godness, is a Level 6 Deity.
PunyMacTinyJeans, God of Wimps, is a Level 1 Deity.
"BigAndBadassia stomps into Puny's Temple and before Puny can react, Big rips off Puny's arms, rips off his left, rips off his right nut and crushes his skull with his boot."
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    The following is more proper.
"BigandBadassia storms into the Temple, there were no magical beasts or powerful gaurds there."
    Then the next post.
Puny turned around and shot a magical bolt of lightning at BigandBadassia. Badassias was fast, and he swerved to avoid the bolt of energy that Puny shot at him. " Then I, or a Co-GM decides based on their writing/roleplaying ability, the Deity Level, Plus any expended Free-Actions or Might points spent, decide who gets hit, how strong the blow was that Puny or Baddassia took, and eventually if all of their life force is spent.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Since Puny didn't spend any free-actions, Puny clearly misses.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
"BigandBadassia charges at Puny and attempts to run him through with his bastard sword."
    Puny's player posts.
"Puny spends a Free-Action and 1 Might to avoid BigandBadassia's attack. He tries with all of his puny might to not get skewered." Okay, so BigAndBadassia has at least +10 attack, but Puny spent +1 with his Free-Action + 1 with his Might point. I, the GM or a Co-GM rolls the dice, and it turns out that Puny didn't get hit. Now, on the other hand, if BigAndBadassia managed to run Puny through, Puny still might have hit points to survive the blow."
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The point is, that just killing other player characters instantaneously is not allowed.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Here's the Experience Table:
    Might To Advance
    Level 1-Level 2: 3 Might
    Level 2-Level3: 4 Might
    Level 3-4: 5 Might
Level 4+: 5 Might per Level

    The IC
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay so guys. You can claim more Domains/Portfolios, but doing so takes spending 3 Might Points on them, then spending another 3 Might to buy your Domains/Portfolios. So, for example, someone wanting the Portfolio of Fire spends 3 Might curse points to destroy a large civilization. He then spends 3 Might Points to gain Fire(Flame) or Destruction(Flame) with his fire points.

That is how you gain more portfolios.

After everyone has reached Level 3, you cannot advance more than one level at a time.

    Name:
    Gangcheol

    Domains/Portfolios:
    Earth/ Mountains

    Alignment:
    Lawful Neutral

    Personality:
Gangcheol is a caring giant, one with the cares for his fellow gods and of the ones he creates. His mantra is that all life has the right to thrive and to be taken by the stronger, which leaks over into the classic law of "survival of the fittest". He is not the kind to get involved in another's business, out of respect that he would have no right to interfere. He favours independence and fortitude above all other attributes, the ultimate form is one that can fend for themselves and not bother with the petty conflict of others who would seek to change the world for themselves. His attitude may put him at difference with other beings, due to favouring solitude and not being a reliable ally.

    Apperance:
    Spoiler

    MusicTheme:

    Description:
Gangcheol is one with the rock, the mud, the dirt and the mountain. He is in essence, a walking mountain his feet tearing and churning the earth into something new with every step taken. He has no connection with the living things on the earth or with the tress growing, but he gives the minerals life, a "presence" of their own. This does not make them talk or feel emotion but it gives them a centre of being, if willing Gangcheol would give them form and conscious. But would want rightful reason to do so. Gangcheol would not take sides in dispute or war, nor would he join lest he was a victim. As long as no other deity interferes with his grand works, Gangcheol will remain the moving mountain.

When can we expect a start Raiser? Not to be impatient but my work load often gets the better of everything I'm doing. So it would be good to, well, plan a rough moment when to begin the RP so I can make it a priority.

    Name: Uthanirdael “Uthan the Outsider”
    Domains/Portfolios: Fantasy (Illusion of)
Alignment: Amoral, only appearing before those who he has shown interest in. This could be a good or bad thing, depending on the person he chose.

Personality: Considered to be one of the most mysterious Divines, Uthan is said to be a god who even the other divines are weary of. This is most likely due to the fact that he chooses almost out of random those who interest him, causing many plans to be changed. No one knows if he truly plans or merely acts out of his own impulses. All that could be said about him is that he loves to watch those he has chosen, almost like it was his own little game.

To those who meet him, Uthan speaks without any emotion and is believed to never have them. Only the other divines have seen him show a few emotions like joy or rarely anger. He doesn’t enjoy the company of the others and makes sure to avoid them whenever he can. This is due to the fact that he sees them as “Boring beings that haven’t yet done anything interesting” which puts him more at odds with others. The only two he seems to hold any interest in is Ultima and Fate, who he views as “Slightly more interesting beings then the rest”.

Uthan has expressed great interest with mortals as he seems to watch them. Those who gained enough interest have him appear before them. After placing his sigil upon them, he watches those ones more carefully just to see what they can do. Only a few have disappointed him and thus had their souls chained to a mountain. Few other mortals have angered him but allowed others to end the source of his anger.

    Appearance:

Music Theme: Tosca Fantasy by Edvin Marton

Description: Uthan is considered the outsider due to his nature and thus is considered by most to be a heretical topic. His followers are from all walks of life which makes it hard for anyone to know. All of those follow one of the many cults that rise to his name however a few have been able to gain his interest, which is either good or bad for them. He is considered a god of magic due to his connection with illusionary magic and most of his cults host mages or others who use it.

Perhaps the one thing he is known to do is create his chosen, people who had gained his interest. No one is safe from being chosen as he will appear and grant you the use of his sigil, whether you wish to or not. This has been the main point of conflict between him and the others since he has chosen their followers as well. Those who he has chosen have been granted great powers to do as they see fit as he will simply watch what they do next. One of the Perks of being his chosen is that they can use cult shrine in an attempt to speak with him further. However, Uthan decides if he answers or not.

It is said that those who were able to completely interest him before dying were given a place in his realm to enjoy their afterlife. This Realm is referred as the Floating Islands outside reality and where also Uthan’s Palace resides. All shrines as modeled after the center piece of the realm, the Sigil Temple, which is inside the Palace Garden. Only the Chosen can enter the Sigil Temple as it hold the very sigil that Uthan created himself from which all others draw power from. His cults who call this sigil the “Primal Sigil” have made their own in an attempt to gain his favor, the very act alone takes the skull of a chosen to engrave it upon.

    Uthran’s Sigil
"Somehow you strayed and lost your way, and now there'll be no time to play, no time for joy, no time for friends - not even time to make amends. You are too naïve if you do believe life is just innocent laughter and fun." ~ Cheshire Cat

  10. #10
    Name: Kahwe (Eagle)

    Domains/Portfolios: Foresight (Wisdom)

Alignment: Guess you can say she's spiritually good? Though she's definitely of the more benevolent side!

Personality: Slower than most, she feels no rush. She speaks slowly, and clearly, and listens intently. Often quiet, she leaves an air of mystery about her. She's lucky, and easy to like, not much bad ever really happens to this Goddess. At heart, she's a romantisist and loves to play "match-maker" up in the divine realm. She's one of the more human gods, she feels much of the same emotions a human feels. She's learned to that healing comes with time, therefore hinting at her wiseness.

Despite being one of the slower, more sensitive beings she's also an adventorous one. She often goes to the humans dressed as a young maiden, or dressed as a wise, old woman. A fortune teller, sometimes even called a "gypsy" when she goes down there. She walks around towns, cities, open but concealing her energy. Often giving orphans food whilst telling them of good things to come and blessing them. (The blessing only brings something minorly good to them, however it also heightens their chances of recieving help from the good in mankind by around 10% for a little less than a week.)

She's a Goddess that will actively set upon a journey, just because she wanted to, and she will see it to the end. Despite her all over around likeable sweetness, she has an awful habit to becoming very jealous. So she is possessive and very protecting of all that she possesses and has dominion over. However, she will not do anything that will dirty her hands. Her brother, (maybe someone else's character? any takers?), will destroy and do all the dirty work for her. Does she need someone cursed? Well, he'll throw the curse on them, does she need someone to be killed? Then he'll kill him, set wars upon nations that are harming what she thinks they shouldn't, and so on.

Apperance: Tall, larger feet than normal, tanned skin, long white hair, piercing dark eyes (if you look closely then you will see they're a rather pretty blue). Banana body shape, so she's long and thin. Often wears white clothing that is soft and resembles the shape of snow or feathers.

    Music Theme:
Over the Misty Mountains Cold by J.R.R. Tolkien (he wrote the lyrics, anyway. xD) From the movie The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey.
Happily Ever After by He is We
If You want a Lover by Yoseob from B2st and GaYoon from 4Minute
Pardon Me by He is We
Congratulations, I hate you by Alesana

Feel free to take guesses what which part of her personality each one fits~. x)

Description: She's a Goddess of foresight, wisdom, fate. She's got the power to foresee, therefore she's a very, wise lady. Many also thank her for the attribute called luck. Despite the fact her name means Eagle (therefore reinforcing the theme of foresight, forseeing, fortune telling, etc.), she instead is intricately associated with Chickadees. Legend says that the Chickadees, a sign for clarity and purity of soul, are the Goddess's messengers. They tell her when her worshippers are in trouble or there's a disturbance that concerns her. They also say that they are a sign of thieves, as thieves are very grateful to the Goddess for luck, who are currently the more devoute worshippers.

Extra: To further make this interesting, I picked 3 tarot cards from my deck that were to represent her. And dayuumm, I liked this! It went along with what I wanted and expounded upon. c:

I use the Wizards' Tarot Deck and I got:
    The Wheel of Fortune
This one alludes to the strings of fate, wheel of fate, circle of life, etc. It's about all phases of life, old, young, middle-aged, naive, in love, etc. This is actually a pretty emotional card. The card depicts a kitchen-like area, which gives this card a very home-y feeling. It reminds me of the Goddess Hestia, the one who keeps the hearth fires going in Mount Olympus in Greek mythology. So not only is wisdom and foresight involved, but there's also a sense of peace. Not to mention the lady is depicted like she's taking her time and feels no rush.

    Two of Cups
Symbolizes first loves, a new beginning, teamwork in a partnership, and balance in life. Happiness, bliss. The sun's lowering behind a mask of clouds that frame the two students who are making a toast (or a promise, maybe?), this part reinforces teamwork in a partnership and balance in life. A lot of blue is used, therefore hinting at a very emotional being.

    Knight of Pentacles
A man who's set on his task, one who's got a sure grasp and thinks before he goes. He's inclined to explore, a curious soul of the pentacle suit who's also very grounded and firm about his decisions. Once he's started a journey, he will not turn back. Instead, he will continue through thick and thin. Mountains represent powerful, immovable forces in one's journey/life. They're the things that are there to either guide or hinder one's journey. You can also sorta get the idea of "history repeating" with the repetive mountains in the background.
