Be prepared to be penalised if you ever hope to go to Japan with those things.
They'll not let you in to onsens/hotspring resorts that carry the ban. Be prepared that if you ever wanted to work there too, you won't be hired for having a tattoo.
Osaka hates them with a passion.
I guess that's all I can say about them. Be prepared to be rejected if you ever went up to Japan, otherwise prepare for a world of pain for getting it around the collar bone and neck.
You can get a job. Especially as a foreigner. Just not in the public sector. and yes, steel yourself. Its gonna hurt like a bitch for a time.

Public sector = everything in Japan that's available to foreigners.
Isn't it around the collar bone and what not that they get infected the most due to the number of little hairs around that area? I know someone who bled so much that they fainted in the sink.
Thats more a risk for men then a woman I think.
And I meant govermental sector. Publiccly owned companies tend to have less of a problem with tats. My friend works for Sony. They only really cared that he was fluent in both Japanese, English and Swedish.

Doesn't hurt worse than a sunburn after, and depending on your tolerance for pain, it's not that big of a deal.
Funny story. I hate needles, have all my life. On my first tattoo, they got about ________________________ that much of a line done and I passed out.
I woke up, drank some water and pop, and sat down for the next 2 or 3 hours and was fine. Anxiety issues and shit.
Anyway, you'll be fine.
