I Can't Face the Dark Without You
Welcome to small town, Ash Lake, where nothing bad ever happens
Let me tell you right now, that's a load of crap. Everything bad that could have happened did, and now things are falling apart for a group of four.
The summer before Senior Year is supposed to be the best time of any high schooler's life. It is the summer before their last year of high school and they can go on into the world the next summer to become who they are and what they want to be. But not everything when right this summer. No one expected for it to happen, but a group of five became a group of four this fateful summer and nothing will ever be the same. Ash Lake would be forever changed, but that's not where this all begins... It first starts with a group of three.
Meet Heather and Roland Rivers, fraternal twins and best friends. Their first day of kindergarten though, it started in motion a great thing that would carry on up until they were in high school. The first day of kindergarten, Roland met his first friend outside of Heather, Adam Stone. Adam was their next door neighbor, and after Roland helped him away from a group of bullies in kindergarten, they were inseparable. They did everything together. Sat together, ate lunch together, got in trouble together, laughed together, and along side them the whole way was Heather. They were practically triplets.
Up until Middle school it was just the three of them. Until Roland saved yet another boy from bullies in the sixth grade. His name was Tyler Rhodes. Roland stopped at nothing to be his friend, and after a few weeks of getting to know Tyler, they became great friends and Tyler was inducted into the group. Now the group felt better, bigger, but even as they headed to start up high school they knew something was missing. Adam had become the rock, the one who always supported everyone when their less than perfect lives came crashing down on them. And all of them had much less than perfect lives crashing down on them. Heather gave the group a bit of mystery and light, with secrets that she and her twin only shared for whatever reason it was. Tyler was the intelligent one and the one who always talked them out of trouble. And Roland, he was the one with all the answers, all the advice, and he held the energy. He was the glue, but still they were missing something.
Halfway through their freshmen year, they found it. Roland saved a girl named Claire Stephens then, and though only Roland knew what her story was she brought the group the necessary function to be whole. She was the heart. She brought them a contagious smile, a bright laugh, crazy ideas, and she always made sure that when someone was down that they would smile again. And from that point on, this group of five "misfits" were happy. They were always seen together, and they did everything with each other. Whether Heather and Claire were watching Saturday morning cartoons in their pajamas on the Rivers' couch, or Adam, Roland, and Tyler were goofing off in the backyard. They were always near each other.
Then two weeks before Senior Year started Roland was taken from them and they were left in the dark. Claire and Heather though, they were the ones to break away as their dark pasts began creeping back up on them. They had trouble keeping their worlds together, and though Adam and Tyler tried to reach them, they always seemed to fail. They all needed each other, but it seemed like their worlds would just keep falling away from each other until they finally succumbed to solitude.
But Roland wasn't done meddling in their lives yet, and before the end he would show the four that they needed to stay together no matter what.
*This is meant to be a darker themed RP with supernatural undertones. I would like for there to be slow-building romance in this one as well.
*The pairings I would like: Adam x Claire ; Heather x Tyler.
