I remember my first major. It was actually ^Biochemistry. You may change your mind. It's a good field to go into, but I started hanging out with this Russian Guy I went to high school with when he got his degree in Biochem. He hated every second of the work. Sitting in a lab all day long doing the same shit over and over is how I believe he phrased it.

Ew, biochem. That shit is awful, such a pain in the ass just because of their ridiculous naming convention. Whereas general chemistry uses the IUPAC rules to give everything a very sterile name in which one can reverse the process and know the structure of a molecule just from looking at the name, biochem uses the horrible system where things were named as they were discovered and make no sense as a cohesive whole. You'll have one protein with one name, then you change one little piece of it, maybe as simple as turning a cis- bond into a trans-, and it has a completely different name. Fuck that, man.

I actually enjoy it. But yeah, if I end up not liking it. I would probably just switch to plain chem, or even just bio. x)
