No advanced entries this month, sadly.

As a reminder, though, the entry "Shooting Star" has been marked as "no comment". According to our rules regarding no-comment entries, all comments and critiques of this entry, be they positive or negative, are all strictly prohibited. Please do not comment or critique this entry. You are, of course, still allowed to vote for it if you see it as deserving.

I voted for the Confession of Alicia Rainheld due to the fact that reading it made me sick to my stomach with visuals. Good luck, anon.

I thought the author captured the character's dimensia well. I thought the other entries were well written too, but #1 is my favorite of the bunch.

Feedback for improvement - For a short story, I like to see a strong hook in the first few sentences to get the reader invested. For some of the stories, I didn't feel invested right away.

Like Whetfeather, my vote goes for the Confession of Alicia Rainheld, for more or less the same reasons. It was very descriptive and easy to visualise, and I loved reading how Alicia went from young innocence to desperation, and then to the realisation of just how dark the path is that she's traveled With a little revenge sprinkled in there too, just for good measure. All of the entries for this WOTM were good, but Confession will get my vote this time.

Crafted by Lillian Thorne, after some aggressive pestering.

Fuck! I was so looking forward to doing this one too! I guess I can still write something for this and just keep it where I keep my other short stories. This just makes me so sad. I'm also quite depressed about there not being any advanced entries.

So, after a few months of not reviewing (the last month doesn't count), let me try my hand at it once more.

(No comment on Entry 2 on grounds of me not being allowed to comment on it)

This is my first time really sitting down and reviewing these entries, so please excuses my meager abilities for now in the hopes that I shall improve as I do this more and more.

It amuses me to imagine what it would be like if someone actually tried writing an entry from the accurate POV of a schizophrenic.

...Not that I'm saying it would fare well in the contest. Anyone who tries will probably get far more people scratching their heads in confusion than people complimenting the uniqueness of the idea.

    Congratulations Gamer5!

There might not have been any advanced entries this month, but that didn't stop us from seeing some downright awesome casuals! While this batch of entries seemed to be crowd-pleasers in general, the Confession of Alicia Rainheld stood above the others as an amazing tale of one young woman's repeated sacrifices and where those sacrifices led her in life- a story which had few flaws for the reviewers to speak of, as well. So congratulations, Gamer; job well done!

Gamer: Please PM Contra Fates about your custom user title.

I now encourage all writers who participated this month to use the next couple days to reveal themselves and respond to comments/critique given before the next Guidelines thread is up.
