    [PRIVATE] A world in Ash

Well, burning forests. They say the greatest way to start a journey is through fire and flames, either that, or the Narrator is mixing up his Dragonforce titles with wise quotes. Not a bad combination, really.

Anywho, the whispering forest- Was cold. Nearly frozen, and windy, too. Key word though, WAS. It was now on fire. And it was burning quickly, very quickly. The girl carrying the body of a limp boy who possibly took one to many slashes to the face would quickly realize that shit was going to hell in a hand basket quite quickly, and that the fire was chasing after her. Now, really, options when you are an hour into a forest are limited- Run, or find somewhere to hide and hope you don't die of smoke Inhalation. Of course, option one could easily be accomplished, which would open up in beautiful plains of flowers bees and all sorts of good happy stuff. Alternatively, she could hide in one of the nearby caves and save the running distance.

Either or option would have worked, really, the choice was hers. As for her dead weight, Gray Heart, well, lets just say he was out cold.

Well she was tempted to honestly go fuck destiny and run out of the forest anyway, but she knew that she'd actually have to remain standing afterwards because now she's carrying a limp boy who happens to be bleeding out, maybe using fire all the time was a bad idea? Nah. Sprinting as fast as her enhanced legs could carry her she eventually stumbled upon a quaint little cave, it wasn't much but it should be enough for now.

Rose slowly lowers the boy onto the floor, and surveys all the wounds that she gave him, nicks and stabs almost everywhere, why did she save his life again? Oh. That's why. She mumbled to herself complaining, she unclips the cape off her armor, the cape that once belonged to the church she served and stood for, she ripped it up, and applied what she basically knew of first aid, onto the boy, covering up the multitude of injuries and grazes. This would all be much simpler if he were a fellow Inquisitor but them the breaks.

After applying what was the most basic yet totally reliable of first aids she leans back against the cave wall and slumped down, Shouldn't of used all that magic. she says with a groan while she looks outside at the burning forest.

Well, at least the wounds stopped bleeding. Anything past that was give or take, really. The fire continued to rage outside as the boy laid there in a puddle of blood, the bleeding having stopped enough to where at least he was not going to bleed out. It would be a few hours before he awoke, in which time would be spent having the forest on fire. When the boy did awake, of course, as expected, he was pale and sickly, as anyone would be who lost that much blood in such a short amount of time.

Rolling onto his side, he immidatly regretted the decision of moving. Pain shot through his body like a knife in a wound, and he almost made a squeak noise. Almost. Instead, he leaned on his head, whimpered a bit and looked around the cave. What was he doing here? Did he sleep here? He sure didn't feel like he just slept off a morning snooze. He looked down at his wounds. Okay, so no, he didn't just sleep here, he was half dead. That explains a lot. For a moment, he laid there, completely still. And then he blinked, as if suddenly remembering everything. Right, right. Sword fight. Almost died. Won sword fight... Collapsed. Was this heaven?

It was certainly dark for heaven. Maybe this was hell? That would explain the fire. He slowly got to his rump, rubbing his head softly as he yawned loudly. He checked for his pouch... Gone. Weapon... Gone. Okay, so when you go to hell, you keep your clothes, but nothing else...

While he continued to ponder about the world around him, this new 'hell', he continued to make quite a racket.

"Don't move idiot, you aren't in a position to." A somewhat exhausted voice echos from nearby, the figure of Rose was resting on the ground with her back against the wall, her eyes were closed, mainly just for the sake of rest. She heard his little squeaks, and heard his shuffling around, taking a guess at whatever he was doing she decided to speak up.

I left your stuff down near that cart, it would of been stupid to bring any of it with me. She lets out with a groan, the magic from earlier had left her physically and mentally drained, normally she only activates certain parts of it at once, but to save Gray she turned almost all of it on.

"Okay, so that takes the hell theory out of the equation." Gray said, shaking his head lightly and rolling back onto... His, well, back. There was pain in so many places pain could be.

"The stuffs probably all burned by now, knowing my luck. Anyways, I'm sure you know what my next question is." He said with a light yawn.

"Why, did you decide to save me?" He finally asked, looking over at the girl.

The girl shakes her head as if to indicate she doesn't really know, which was a lie, she did have a reason for it in the end, maybe she'll tell him later. She just didn't have the energy to go into it now.

"Anyway we'll need to hang out for while. She vaguely gestures outside to the outside of the cave.

"Right, right." The boy said, shifting around a bit until he was half sitting up. What could be said at this point? Watching the fire was fine enough to pass the time, and soon, the hours passed by and the fire began to slowly die out, leaving the ashes and destroyed forest in their path.

Of course, Gray had fallen asleep again, snoring loudly behind some rocks, away from the light of day. His skin seemed a little less pale, and you wouldn't believe it but it seemed as if he was healin already! Insane speed healing, one could supppose.

Rose herself had been resting for awhile, she was woken up awhile ago by the loud snoring that echoed through the cave, she had recently un-clipped the plate armor that had covered her own chest in order to get some more air into her lungs, she didn't really like taking it off, it was actually kinda comfortable after you got use to it, underneath she was wearing a white sleeveless shirt with red trimming on the rims.

"Food will be a problem." She mumbles to herself under her breath, she was honestly tempted to just leave right now and let the kid tough it, but considering the current state of everything she'll be with him until they can at least reach some form of civilization. She looks out at the burnt landscape with a "Well shit" look plastered clearly over her face, seeming to show at least a lot more emotion than when she was fighting with Gray.

"I might be able to make it far enough to the greener areas if I can use my speed for a whole day, rest, and then run back." She shakes her head, discarding the idea almost right away, she wasn't even sure she'd make it far enough, and using her own magic so dangerously after that may end up sealing her own fate.

Shuddering a bit, the boy had seemed to have woken up himself during her mumbling. Leaning up against a particularly mid-sized rock, he yawned lightly. He couldn't really hear her, but he could hear mumbling and he could only assume she was talking about something or other.

"I'm hungry. Go look outside and see if we got lucky with a roast deer." Gray said, scratching his hair as he crawled onto the rock. He seemed quite a bit better from before, and could at least move without searing pain burning through his body, though, standing was another deal completely.

"Actually... I don't have my map on me, but I might be able to scavenge some mushrooms from this cave. As long as we cook them, they shouldn't be poisonus but... Well, I'm sure you have no problems cooking food with the same fire you burn down entire forests with, right?" The boy teased, rolling off the rock with a loud thud.

"There is also a stream... Somewhere. I heard running water a while before I was eh... 'Interrupted'." The Gray continued from the ground, slowly sitting back up.

"Water first, we can go longer without food. She adds in not really turning around to face the boy as she sat in entrance of the cave, she was hugging her knees close to her own body as she looked out trying to recall the path she took here.

"Fire may also be a problem actually." She says with a barely audible mumble. "We don't have anything to burn and I left my holster down near the site, we don't have much to start a proper fire with.
