"God damn it!" I cursed, hitting the wheel of my truck hard in frustration. "Nearly two hours late..." I growled, looking at the time. I hate to be late, especially when it's work. But I couldn't help it... my piece of crap of a truck decided to break down on my way. I lived so far from where I was going to be working now to have walked or even ridden there, but my truck seemed to not want to let me go. I had to stop on the side of the interstate and work on it for hours. Cut me back two whole hours!
When I first pulled up to the quaint farm, it appeared that everyone was sitting to supper. I thought it rude to have just barged in while they were eating, so I had went back to my truck. It wasn't within view of the house or barn, although I could hear the door of the house open. I started with a leisurely stroll towards the house. I saw the barn, then noticed a girl walking towards it. This slightly confused me, but I followed anyway, then heard her call out to whoever was around. I was too far off to respond without a shout, so I waited until I reached the door and I cleared my throat.
"Hello ma'am, I'm sorry I'm so very late," I greeted, taking my hat off in the presence of a lady. I then noticed the horses seemed to be startled. I was unsure if it was my fault, but I wouldn't guess so. I hadn't done anything besides being a new face, a new smell.
