    Forgotten Realms RP

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who reads the Legend of Drizzt or other Forgotten Realms books, or plays in Faerun in Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Would anyone feel up for an RP set in that world? I have a vague idea of a campaign we could do, or we could just do a sandbox, or both, or whatever.

Let me know. It'll be big and epic and awesome.

You could use my personal favourite scenario. One could set it in either a major city or a small town that the PC's are building up into a major trade center. Inside is a tavern and in the basement is a well. Those that forage into the well find themselves in a dungeon or in the remains of some ancient city. It is different every time.

According to those that have so delved and returned there's never been a sign of anyone who has gone before. Some theorize that the portal leads to a massive sunken city or dungeon and that the portal is somehow broken and takes people randomly into the environs. Others theorize that it's a special dimension like one of the hells that weaves itself into existence around those that enter. Nobody knows.

I'm up for some. Drizzt is one of my favorite elf characters (even though he is a bit of a gary stu in some cases :/). But Artemis was really my favorite character of them all.

I want to ask some questions before joining.

Is it going to have a DnD character sheet (with all the stats, saves and modifiers)? Eg, seemingly more focused on combat.

Will we be playing in a the exact same world of faerun? (Eg, locations landmarks and all that history which will take us a couple of hundred bucks to actually understand. Not that I have anything agaisnt avid DnD players, just some people tend to pull 'facts' out of their hinies to justify the ridonculous things their characters do. Worst still, some of these facts are actually obscurely true.)

Or would it be loosely based on it? Eg, make things up as long as it's reasonable.

    Will we be rolling dice?

Is there a standard time format? (Some roleplays take 3 pages to describe what happened in 3 hours. That's quite bad when a story is supposed to span over a year. Etc, her eyes are like the vibrant hue of wild flowers ...her lashes the slender stalks of grass upon it's meadow ...her arms the picket fences ...*3 paragraphs later* She was still walking down the hall, now the dress she was wearing ... :/)

    Are biographies truly necessary?

Huh? It's not wrong to ask for details in an Interest Check, afterall how a game is played is also an important part of it's appeal. An OOC is when people have already established rules and guidelines, many of which my questions pertain to. I think it would be abit too late to ask these questions when that is done.

As to your response. I don't see how you can 'let it go' when you are in absolutely no authority over the matter. Also. You're not the thread starter, nor are you here much longer than me. Furthermore, you were the one who asked for more information -to which it seems you metaphorically shot yourself in the foot because I did that ...just with more detail. Any other problems?

no this is my second profile. My first one got hacked along with all my other passwords for other things. I've been on here much longer than you. I'm not upset on that you asked for info, its HOW you asked the questions. Complaining on how the setting would be obscure if it was based on the actual world that was originally written. Making fun of peoples writing style and not seeing the point of a biography. If you like short, non descriptive characters with no background or depth, the go back on free thread.

Yes I did ask for info, Then I patiently waited for it. I did not make conclusions off the bat and put them down. What if the GM wanted to make it strictly based on that world with high detailed posts and in-depth backgrounds? It wouldn't be nice to hinder ones creativity by negating the ideas before they even surface. I apologize for going back and forth on this and will not reply again enabling this to become meaningless squabble. All in all the way you said it in your post was just all out rude, and THATS what I was letting go...
