    Final Fantasy Dissidia {Who will prevail and at what cost?}

    The Plot:

*Note: Credit for the plot goes to Razers Shadow.

There was once a war between harmony and discord with eleven warriors of high caliber and immense strength fighting for each side. Together the two different sides became strong and fought for their ideals. The mantra "good always wins" came to mind and the heroes fought hard to stave off evil. However, good does not always win and discord prevailed over harmony, Cosmos falling victim to Chaos.

Cosmos was destroyed when her warriors failed her and Chaos reigned supreme over all the worlds that both the heroes and villains alike hailed from. For the god of discord though, this eventually became too much for him, trying to keep balance between all the worlds and soon their energies grew imbalanced because there was nothing to counterbalance Chaos's discord that he had sown throughout all the lands.

Chaos, too, was destroyed as a result and now the worlds are quickly being torn apart, their destruction initially starting with a powerful wave of energy ripping its way down to their very cores. Chunks of various different planets have broken off from their home planet as they are destroyed and have come together to form a new, single planet. Just like the planets have come together as one, so must the heroes and even the villains to fight again for their side and to witness who prevails in the end.

The spirits of Cosmos and Chaos are still with their warriors as they fight but will their warriors still listen to them? What if their warriors don't find their leaders fit for the throne but rather themselves or perhaps something even more sinister? Will you stay loyal to your leader or will you have a change of heart? Lastly, will you be able to find the key to restore the balance to all the worlds that is rumored to lie on this patched up planet? Or will it be destroyed by Chaos's warriors before you and your allies are able to retrieve it?

Kain grunted as he slashed down again, flying down from a high jump, his spear stabbing through a Skeleton, scattering the bones that made it up and landing with not too much grace, but solidity He swept his lance to the side, knocking the legs out from under another Skeleton and sending it clattering to the ground. The danger gone for now, he stood up, lance clasped in his hand.

Strong steps led Kain back to a cave for a breather. He had been on Mount Ordeals for months, training so he could be like his father, so he could restore his own self confidence and redeem his mistakes. It was hard work, the Mount being crowded by all manner of the undead, but it gave his mind something to focus on besides his self inflection. He was covered in sweat, and dirt, and blood, but it was for the best, in his own mind. He relied upon himself for his own survival, and he knew that that was the way it should be.

Breath regained and helm on head, he walked over to a ledge, off in the distance, he could barely make out the castle of Baron, his thoughts turning to Cecil and Rosa as he did so. He knew they were there, wondering where he was, and waiting for him to return. "Someday, when I have earned my penance, when I have earned the forgiveness you so freely give, I will return," muttered Kain.

The shaking of the ground distracted him from his musing, and he quickly stepped back from the ledge, wondering what was happening. This had not happened to Cecil on his journey, as far as he was aware. His lance clattered down as he braced himself, hoping the tremors would end soon, before the upper part of the mountain went crashing down. It was a long time, from what he could guess, several minutes, before they stopped. Picking up his lance, Kain walked to see how the slope up had been affected.

To his relief, nothing there had been changed, including the hordes of undead. However, his eye was drawn to where Mysidia should be, and to his surprise, the town had vanished, replaced by a pristine forest. "What the...Maybe my mind is playing tricks, or is this a test of the mountain," he wondered out loud. Nonetheless, he needed to find out what had happened to Mysidia. Going back, he grabbed what supplies he had before making his way down the slope, knocking aside the undead that got in his way as he went to see what had happened.

It had been a regular day, well almost anyway. This paticular adventerous woman had been experimenting with her latest invention, which was a time machine. Oddly enough, time kept changing on her whenever she went. Her invention broke down when she reached a world where the crystal tower holding up the old cocoon fell, while the new one floated up to the sky. Lying on the soft grass of Gran Pulse, the silver haired woman gave a soft yawn as her blue eyes were closed as she rested on the soft ground. This was a peaceful time and t was much less stressful then other times, though it was sad to see that tower go. With a yawn, Lia opened her blue eyes and stood up stretching.

To her astonishment, there was a odd forest to her left. Strange, she swore that had been a field. Currently, she had been resting in a open field, near where Bodum was and near the sea. Odd... of course
curiousity got the best of the silver haired woman so of course she would go explore it. The thief just hoped that she wouldn't run into any behemoths. She despised them and their thunder spells... With a smile she trotted into the forest, feeling something in her gut.. telling her something was wrong and strange.

“Fang?” After waking up, Vanille sat up and looked over to where Fang should be, but for some reason she wasn’t there. She knew the two of them were together when they crystallized. Now though, Vanille was waking up from her crystallized state to find Fang was not there. “I wonder where she could be.” She knew Fang wouldn’t just leave her. Maybe they ended up in two different places when they were still in crystal stasis? But that didn’t make any sense at all. “Well then,“ she said as stood up to look around. It looked as if she were on Gran Pulse at the moment. Laughing a little, she ran out onto the grassy plains. She ran through the grass for a little while enjoying the moment until she decided to fall into the soft grass. She laid there looking up at the sky wondering where Fang is.

Suddenly, Vanille sat up. “I know. Oerba. Maybe she went there looking for me too.” With that thought in mind, she stood up and started heading toward her home village. On her way there, she found herself thinking where Lightning and the others were. “I wonder if they had woken up too.” She was close enough now to be able to see her village from where she was. Vanille stood there for a minute to look out at her home. Last time she was here, Oerba was pretty much devoid of color. She wanted to see if anything changed again. Except that it wasn’t there? In it’s place, was a forest that Vanille has never seen before. “That’s odd. It’s supposed to be here.” For a few minutes, she was kind of sad about it all too.

Wondering why there’s suddenly a forest in the place where Oerba should be, she decided to walk in. Something about this forest felt really odd, but Vanille wanted to find out what happened to her home. Whole villages don’t just suddenly disappear to be replaced by some strange forest for no apparent reason. “Wonder if something happened while I was still crystallized,” she said as she walked through the forest.

    Zack Fair

The smell of dirt and greenery assaulted his senses as he took a sharp breath, the first of a limited bunch, before his eyelids cracked open, revealing bright blue eyes with a Mako influenced green ring around each pupil. The dirt almost smelled familiar since he'd been buried beneath it for a long time. Wait...there were so many different scents...ones that a dead person shouldn't smell.

He sat up quickly with a gasp, taking in the unfamiliar forest around him wildly. Where was he? "Cloud?" he suddenly called out in alarm. He had to find Cloud! It had been too long! But he didn't have the faintest idea where to look...especially with this strange forest here. Shouldn't he be overlooking the outskirts of Midgar?

Perplexed, the first class SOLDIER ran a hand through his long black hair before looking thoughtful. "Well, guess I'll just have to get looking, won't I?" he said to himself as if he had a whole audience listening to him.

With that, Zack hefted up his sword that supposedly only a SOLDIER was capable of lifting and set off into the forest, oblivious to the strange heavenly glow that surrounded his sword, which had previously been riddled with rust but now looked to be in pristine condition.

After a few long moments in the timeless forest, Zack stopped in his tracks, his ears picking up the faint sound of footfalls on the forest floor. Or was it merely wishful thinking? Wary, remembering the infantrymen who had come in full force to end his life, Zack prowled forward, sword at the ready, wondering just who he'd come face to face with. Let it be Cloud, let it be Cloud, he thought over and over to himself.

There was a strange feel to this place, it was a little odd. It felt as if it had a meaning, a connection to something. Odd indeed, perhaps this forest had some sort of magical properties? At any rate, maybe she could collect some samples and thoroughly examine them in order to familiarize with this new discovery. Having always been the curious sort, this place was more exciting rather than fearful, even though she had a right to be at least a little bit worried. Still, this forest did feel uplifting, as if it was Etro's own garden.

Lia's body tensed as she heard footsteps though and calculating the wait, it sounded like a regular person, maybe a little heavier then most. Slowly she walked before arriving in a more open area in the forest, her blue eyes soon locking on a strange man. She wasn't sure if he was actually a threat, but she put up her usual calm laid back smile and waved a little.

"Howdy stranger. Don't suppose your out exploring this odd forest that seems a little endless, while hoping you don't sink eh?" She joked but her eyes never left him and even if she didn't look it, her guard was up and she was examining him. His looks, behavior, and reactions.

Humming a little to herself, Vanille continued walking. Her humming to herself was helping to keep her mind preoccupied with something other than how odd this forest felt. It scared her a little especially since she’s for the most part, in a new place by herself. She didn't know why this forest was here or how it even got here for that matter. “I wonder if any of the others are in this forest somewhere too.” If that were true, then the first person Vanille wanted to find was of course, Fang.

When she heard someone else’s voice, Vanille was hoping it was Fang’s. She became sad when she realized it wasn't. It was a female’s voice but it didn't sound like anyone she knows. Whoever it is, wasn't very far from where Vanille was. “Well, I guess I get to meet someone new.” She walked through the trees until she saw someone in an open area. There were two people there. Not sure about these two, she didn't know if she should walk out into the open area or stay put. A minute or two later, Vanille decided she mind as well. After all, it may turn out that she wouldn't have to walk through this strange feeling forest by herself anymore.

She walked out into the open area toward the other two. “Hello,” she said to them. Maybe similar things happened to these two as well.

Tifa sighed as she walked around the forest trying to see of there was anyone out here. Well.. she actually was trying to find her friend...Cloud. Tifa had her hands on her pockets, thinking about all the adventure and all the fighting that she did along side with Cloud and others as well. She even missed Yuffie, the energetic one. Tifa then started to hear noises as she walked towards it pushimg.the grass away from her as she noticed two people and a girl. She smirked walking towards them, to make some conversation and to be all friendly and what not. But Tifa was friendly and sweet. Weird nothing has been happening today. It was a quiet day. "Hello." she smiled at them waving with her left hand.

The silver haired woman blinked a littlw as two more appeared, both women. First came what looked like a young girl, then a pretty and dare she say sexy, woman appear. At first, ahe pondered if this could be a ambush but soon relaxed as the two girls seemed to have little interest in fighting. A grin appeared on Lia's face before she chuckled. "Hiya. How lucky, two beautiful women wandering in this weird forest. Well. Its good to know that I might be mentally ill." She joked before waving it off and smiling. "Nice to meet you two... mhmm..." Lia greeted before looking at Vanille more closely, her hands going to her own hips as she concentrated. This girl looked familiar, yet she was sure they never met in person.

"...you..... look like your from Gran Pulse.... oh! Call me crazy but aren't you Oerba Dia Vanille? I think that's what the name was...." she mused softly before shaking her head. "Annnnnnd I'm rude. Names Lia."

Kain moved through the forest, leaping through the air from branch to branch, his feet barely touching the ground as he kept his lance in his hand. Once in a while, he paused to make sure his sense of direction was correct, but it was harder with Mysidia gone. Still, he moved on. Another weird thing he noticed was the lack of monsters in the area. He definitely should have been attacked by a Zu by now, but hadn't. It was strange, another sign that something had changed.

One leap, land, take a second to spot another clear branch, leap, land. All in the skills of a dragoon. Their element was the air, staying in the sky out of the reach of their enemies, then to plunge down with their lance and wreak destruction and death. It was a place where he could be calm, to let his thoughts, his worries, his guilt, be left on the ground. For a few blissful seconds, he could be free.

But still, all that went up had to come down, and he couldn't be free forever. Knees crouching, he landed on another tree branch, bracing in case he has estimated wrong and it cracked or fell under his weight. To his relief it didn't, and he took a second to figure out where to go next. It was then that something reached his ears. It sounded like footsteps. So, someone else was here. He crouched in his tree branch as it drew closer, lance ready in case it proved to be hostile. And then, he waited.
