Hi you can call me Maia.

    Hello all.

I am pretty new to forums.I don't even have a facebook, nor do i want one though. The main reason I came on here was, because my brother left for college. He used to play games like D and D with me and his freinds, but now he left and suprise suprise none of my freinds would be caught dead playing or can't understand it. So I came on here, because well it feels like somethings missing without roleplaying.

So any help at all, and advice on forums wpuld be appreciated. Even if it's so simple a idiot could figure it out. You have to understand I am a special kind of Idiot.

Anyways nice to meet you all, I am Maia occupation is a middle school student.

    Welcome to the Guild, Maia!

If you happen to have any questions about the forum or need some help getting around, feel free to ask me or one of the other Comrades. We're the users with italicised usernames, and we'd be happy to lend a hand if you need it.

If you're looking to get started nice and quickly, I'd recommend starting with the Guild's Guide. It should answer most of your questions.

I do have a question, how does forum combat work?

Not to sound like a fool, but this is foreign to me and I have no clue what the rules and restrictions are on it, and well the role playing I like to do has a bit of combat in it.

Hi there, Maia. c: I'm fairly new here as well but I've been on other forums before. They're pretty easy to figure out, but if you have any questions you can message me! I hope you have a lot of fun here. - Vice

Depends entirely on the RP and GM in question generally.

Some GMs let combat go the way of the plot, others roll dice, others a combination of those.

I used the "Reply with quote" button.

As for the pictures, the one on the left is my Avatar, the one on the bottom is my Signature. Both can be set in the User Control panel. (The settings button next to "Log out" at the top right.)

Combat rps are often a lot like turn based video games. One person writes out how their character will attack and then the other person responds to said attack. It goes back and forth until the fight is over. Basically the one thing to always remember when fighting another pc character is to not auto hit them, always leave them an opportunity to react.

The best way to learn would either be write up short little combat scenes yourself or practice with someone on the site until your comfortable.

Anyway welcome to the site and hope you enjoy your time here. If you have any questions or what not feel free to message me.
