Name:Avis Lancaster

Alias: Dirge

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Appearance: Standing at 5'11.5", Avis possesses a sturdy athletic build, deeply dark brown eyes and black hair. Over his chest, diagonally downwards from left to right and across his right pect, is a large scar in the form of a curved line.

Gear:

The suit that Avis wears as Dirge is a modified military stealth suit designed to be weather and fire resistant. While it is only a prototype and was originally sage and grey in colour, Avis painted it black and added the visor as a means of concealing his face.

Avis carries an augmented katana sword which uses vibrations to grant it the ability to heat it's blade to the point where it glows red hot via friction. Effectively allowing the blade to wield an increased cutting ability and caurterize which each strike. The blade can become hot enough to melt most metals into a softened state with momentary contact. However, should the mechanism be left active for an extended period of time, the friction between the two blades from which the weapon's blade is comprised, can generate enough heat to cause the weapon to overload.

He also carries a custom built fifty caliber machine pistol. While there is nothing particularly unique about this weapon save for the design, it should be noted that each of the rounds it fires contains concentrated liquid nitrogen. The likes of which is released when each round makes contact with a solid surface, inturn activating a trick switch. Because of this, the rounds are non-lethal. It should be noted that any body parts affected by the nitrogen instantly become extremely brittle, thus vastly susceptable to physical force.

In terms of transportation, Dirge rides a modified BMW HP KUNST. While the bike itself is common for the current day and age, it's ability to seamlessly transition between black and white and blue body paint is a feat exclusive to Avis' version. Besides that, it's only other modification is a high tech performance upgrade. (Won't become modified until sometime into the role play)

Powers:

Time Dilation: The ability to increased the speed of cognitive functions, allowing the user the ability to see things in slow motion. Initiates instinctively, thus allows the user to demonstrate "other worldly reflexes".

Hyper Cognition: Avis can instinctively perform complex mental operations beyond the capability of a normal human mind. These mental feats are automatic and focused to a single task, having little to do with deliberate cognitive thought. Due to this, he is able to subconsciously analyze situations and develops numerous strategic possibilities near instantaneously.

Enhanced Conditioning: The ability to achieve and maintain the peak human physical form for the user's size and build, with little to no exercise and/or maintenance required. Allows the user to perform at a level far beyond that of the average human's in all physical aspects. His body is durable enough to survive moderate scaled blast waves, such that of c4 or grenades. He is able to lift up to four times his body weight (that's 656 lbs), and can, at maximum effort, run at speeds as high as 34 mph.


Strengths: Avis is highly courageous, thus possesses the ability to overcome his fears almost at will. It is his determinate nature however, that really makes him a being to envy, or fear. As once he has set his mind towards a specific goal, he stops at almost nothing to see it reached. That aside, his abnormally high level of charisma grants him the ability to talk his way out of almost any situation.

Weaknesses: Despite his strengths. Avis' overconfidence in his own abilities stands to be one of his biggest flaws. While it can at times be justified, it oft results in him putting either himself, or those depending upon him, at risk. It's due to this that he has also developed a viscous conscious, which can lead him into a state of depression during times of severe failure. This wouldn't be an issue, if it weren't for his natural kind-heartedness. Which at times causes him to hesitate, and in extreme cases, freeze up.


Skills:

Expert Martial Artist: Avis has studied numerous forms of martial combat. While he is considered to be an expert in a few forms including, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo, thus is easily physically lethal, he is still a ways away from becoming a master.*

Enhanced Marksmanship: While Avis in himself possesses no real skill with ranged weaponry, his powers grant him the ability to perform difficult and/or impossible feats with ranged weaponry with relative ease.*

Expert level gymnastic prowess: While to was not the main focus of his training, his years of studying martial arts have enabled Avis to be able to perform expert level gymnastic feats with relative ease.

Melee weapons Expert: While studying martial arts, Avis also explored and studied the use of melee based weaponry. As most martial arts incorporate some sort of weapon into their regime, he has thus become an expert in melee weapons as well.

Seasoned Science Enthusiast: Although he does not focus his time and efforts towards it. Avis has always possessed a passively devoted interest in science. And began to independently study subjects such as physics, biology and chemistry, as early as age twelve. Because of this, he has come to develop a vivid understanding of science over the years. So much so that he was offered a full academic Scholarship by several Universities by the time he had reached the age of seventeen.


Personality: Outgoing, selfless, kind spirited.

Background: Avis was born in Gardena Los Angeles, the single son of Mariam and Joseph Matrell. Who named their son Lancaster due to their plan to legal change their names to the aforementioned. He lived a normal middle classed life and developed a love for martial arts after trying to for the first time at the age of eight. Which lead to him become quite popular in high school after he became champion wrestler during his first year. Due to his affinity for the sciences, Avis was fast tracked and allowed skip a single year of secondary school.

However, it wasn't until he had started his life in university that he first discovered his powers after an unfortunate incident between him and a fellow student at a party one afternoon. While he initially avoided using his powers for weeks, out of fear he'd be unable to control them, it wasn't long before he had both fully adjusted and explored how they worked. Remembering the tales of superheros from generations ago, Avis used his proficiency in science, as well as military hardware he had 'secured', to construct his own alter ego. Thus, the persona of "Dirge" was born. Determined to learn more about his new world, Avis has recently begun to frequent Titans Tower.

As a mask, she just smears on some black eyeliner/eyeshadow across her eyes and the bridge of her nose.

Powers:
- Umbrakinesis (ability to move objects by their shadows)
- Empathy (ability to feel what others feel with skin-to-skin contact)

Strengths:
Pretty good aim with her handgun, but can be awkward when trying to use the blade.

Weaknesses:
Cannot move objects without a shadow or have an equivalent weight to a car or higher.

Her empathy cannot be turned on or off. She also reacts severely to strong emotions or a large amount of them. It is not only distracting and visible but can cause migraines. To counter this to the best of her ability she wears a bodysuit as her attire in battle, but she protects herself in no such way outside of battle. But, her empathy can cause her to be wary or trusting of a person without knowing much about them which can be helpful or detrimental.

Skills:

Reserved, calm and often polite.

Background:
Ali's father was the CEO and founder of one of the nation's largest insurance companies. Her mother was a socialite and the two often came together in their efforts to ensure their own wealth and good fortune. They were the most successful and dynamic couple in the business world. They built an empire with their daughter locked away in her room with the nanny. Ali learned her place quickly and knew not to interrupt or speak out of turn and never to act out.

As Ali grew older, her mother hired an etiquette instructor and placed her in the cotillion league. Ali excelled, just as her mother had. But Ali's success was short-lived in light of her parents struggles. In trying to each take the business a different direction, they created a rift between them that could not be reconciled.

The tensions grew and the house was soon filled with hostile arguments and vicious silences. The sudden change in environment was particularly disturbing and upsetting to the young girl and the emotions inside her awoke something that had long laid dormant.

It started with being overcome by emotions upon touch that she couldn't seem to decipher. Soon these resulted in migraines and she could no longer function quite right in day to day life. She hid herself in room and found that it helped. She began taking her lessons in her room and spending most of her time alone in various dark rooms of the empty home.

It had been a particularly long and irritating day when her parents were at each other's throats, her mother demanding divorce and compensation and her father denying her and attacking her pride. A crashing and screaming ensued as her mother resorted to a tantrum. Her father followed suit, mocking her as the pounding grew in Ali's head. In this moment when she could take no more, she erupted in rage and her parents were horrified tp find her among the shadows as things about them crashed upon the floor and smashed into the walls. It wasn't long after this that the couple divorced and the girl was cast out from her home and placed in a boarding school for problematic children.

She left and cut and colored her hair, abandoning her previous way of life. As a hobby, she carried over from the boarding school, she began to take pictures frequently. She found she enjoyed much more than anything she'd ever done in the past anf has recently saved the money to buy herself a decent camera. Otherwise, she's worked various jobs as she's switched between roommates and apartments until now.

@MysT3CH: The only thing that bugs me is catching bullets. Based on the power, that would be impossible. Just because he sees the bullet in slow motion doesn't mean it's moving any less faster to make it able to punch a hole in your hand if you foolishly put it in the way. That, combined with enhanced conditioning, is something that can easily be abused. And Master Tactician as young as age 18 seems a little too implausible for my taste.

yea i actually just edited those out myself. Made the tactical proficiency a side power that can be a side effect of time dilution. So no worries.

and to be honest I only enhanced his conditioning because time dilution on it's own really isn't much help when your up against even minor villains such Psimon, Blackfire and Jericho.

That's true, but Dick was also a master of almost every physical field, a general genius and had batman personally train him on how to fight crime and criminals of all kinds from a young age. Even in his rookie years, he'd have still been well out of Dirge's league.
