Corpse Party ((Invader Len and IntenseInsanity))

They say fear brings out the worst in all of us. I can't help but wonder... If it's true or not.

"Hey, have you heard about 'Lucky Sachiko'?"

    "Ah, what's that?"

"It a special charm, you play it with people you are close too. It is said that if you do it right, you'll remain friends forever."

"Ha! That sounds like a load of garbage!"

    ---

    June XX, XXXX
    Friday
    Weather: Cloudy
    Time: 16:30 (4:30 pm)

"Come on, guys! Let's hurry up and clean!" came a loud, energy-filled call. Yuuta Takanashi was quickly and messily arranging chairs while Ryoka, his sister, stammered and tried to fix them to be much more neat. A taller, much more mature looking woman watched with amusement twinkling in her eyes. The classroom was a mess; chalkboard dust and mud covered the floors and walls, chairs and tabled were turned upside down, the cause was unknown, but the causer was not so fortunate. This disaster was all thanks to Yuuta. Ms. Dekomori, the mature looking woman, had given him the responsibility to clean it up all by himself, but his four best friends had decided to tag along and help out as well. Outside, wind gushed against the windows, black clouds devoured any light that dared to glean through. Though it sounded ominous due to the wind, whenever Ryoka looked over, she would find one gleaming ray shine against the foggy town and the beauty seemed almost overwhelming. She would then be snapped back into reality by her brother's complaint about how slow the rest were working,

"Come on, Ryo! Snap out of it and work!" Yuuta exclaimed towards her, precariously carrying at least three or four chairs. Ryoka gasped, dropping the broom she held as one of the chairs began to wobble,

"W-wait, Yuu!" she called, grabbing onto one of the chairs. Yuuta's mouth opened suddenly as if to tell her to stop, but he closed it as soon as the weight that he held became lesser. The wobbling quickly subsided as she removed one of the chairs, carrying it to the back of the room with the others,

"Be more careful, Yuu." she begged, placing the chair he gave a small chuckle, placing down his remaining stack,

"Sorry..." he muttered. Ms. Dekomori gave Yuuta a playful tap on the head, a grin on her face,

"Hurry up and clean so we can get to what Reiko wanted to show us!" Yuuta grinned back, rubbing the back of his head.*

Kaito raised an eyebrow at the mess before them, being handed a wet rag and a bucket. He was taller than the others, as well as the eldest, and so he got the job of cleaning the chalkboard, as the girls couldn't reach and Yuuta was, well, being Yuuta. He reached past Dekimori, the chalk dust being wiped away in milky streams. There were quite a few drawings up there, and drawings of poorly sketched genitalia had made Haruna nearly faint. He shook his head. Girls were so weak.

He watched with amusement as Yuuta almost dropped the chairs, the only thing saving him being Ryouka's assistance. He quickly looked away, not wanting to be caught staring.
Reiko, meanwhile, was sweeping with Haruna, thinking deeply about the Sachiko ever after charm. She had a dark premonition about it, but if her theory was right, not only would they be together forever, they might even find a ghost! A real ghost! Or a poltergeist or an ogre or a demon! That would be so cool! She started laughing darkly to herself, thinking about how finding a ghost would further her research, when a small amount of water splashed on her head. She let out a yelp and dropped her broom with a clatter, looking up at where it had come from. Kaito had wrung out the cloth over her head. She glared at him in indugnance.
"Kaito! You stupid bully! What did you do that for?!"
"You were laughing like a villain. Don't be so creepy, you'll scare the others."
"I'm creepy?! Say that again you Yankee wannabe! Your bleached hair and bad attitude doesn't scare me! Come on, bring it! I'm master in martial arts!" she boasted, throwing a few boxer punches in the air. Kaito looked at her placated, before wringing out the rest of it over her head.
    "Kaito! You meanie!"
"Sorry, I though a master of martial arts could have dodged a simple attack like that."
    "Jerk!"

Haruna carried books and stacked them along the shelves, wondering how Yuuta could possibly have made this much of a mess in such a short amount of time. It was certainly puzzling. He must have a lot of energy. But that made him very cute. She glanced over at him, unable to help her blushing. So happy and energetic about everything! It was certainly admirable. Kaito on the other hand... He never seemed to have any energy, and just looked annoyed all the time. She wondered what had happened to make him so crabby.
"Ne, Ryouka-chan! Can you help me with these books? I can't read the kanji on the titles!" she called.

"Ah, oh, c-coming!" she called turning quickly on her heels, which resulted in her sudden trip. Yuuta bite his lip and in a split second grabbed her arm before Ryoka could take a dangerous spill. She straightened, flashed her twin a small, reassuring smile before running over to join Reiko,

"Hmm, I'll arrange them, you stack them, o-okay?" she said quietly as her eyes scanned over the books, ordering them first in her mind before really getting to work. She let out a small sigh as she ordered them quickly, handing small stacks to Reiko so she could put them back on the shelf. Her eyes would glance ever so quickly towards Kaito. Whenever he looked her way, though, she would quickly turn her head back to the books. Soon, each book was squared away. All that remained now was the mud on the floor. Yuuta had already finished that, though, thus meaning the room was finally clean. Ms. Dekomori gave a clap of approval,

"Great job, guys, okay Reiko, I know you have something to show us." she called, giving the long-haired girl a sly wink. Ryoka stood up, her eyes flashing towards Reiko curiously, Yuuta doing the same.

Reiko grinned, standing up tall and clapping her hands together.
"Alright! Last night, while I was researching my studies on paranormal activities, I came across a charm! It was recommended by a very reputable source, one of my senpais in the occult field. It's called the Sachiko Ever After, and it's said that if done correctly, those who do it will be friends forever!" she said happily. Haruna perked up at the mention of it. Friends forever? Then, she would always be remembered, right?! She stood up, a big smile on her face.
"That sounds great! Let's do it!" she exclaimed. Kaito looked at her suspiciously.
"That's bull shit. Things like that never work. Their just there to trick who ever is gullible enough to believe them. Charms and ghosts are completely fake." he said, crossing his arms.
"Shut up, Kaito!! What do you know? You're too lazy to get off your Yankee ass to try!" Reiko retorted. Kaito glared right back.
"Well fine then! I'll do it! And I'll prove to you that it's total garbage!"
    "Fine!"

They all cleared around in a circle, Ms. Dekimori joining in because she said it looked like fun. Reiko took out a paper doll, holding it in the middle.
"Okay, we all take a hold of the doll and we chant "Sachiko, we beg of you". Since there are six of us, we chant it six times. Then we tear the doll." she explained.
"This sounds more like a demonic sacrifice than a friendship charm. What kind of friendship is symbolized by ripping the person apart?" Kaito asked skeptically.
"Shut up and hold the paper, Kaito." Reiko ordered. He did, taking a hold of it's arm. Haruna did the same, holding one leg. Reiko looked at the others.
    "Are you gonna do it?"

Ryoka looked at the circle skeptically, her eyes narrowed behind her glasses. Something felt off about this, she couldn't explain it. It felt like a voice in the back of her head was nagging her, telling her no. Yuuta, on the ither hand, was giddy with glee. Seeing Haruna and Reiko so excited about this made him excited! Ryoka flushed slightly as Yuuta left her side to join the circle, holding out his hand,

"Come on, Ryo! Don't be a party pooper!" he called. Dekomori gave Ryoka a reassuring smile, in which she returned meekly,

"Okay!" she stammered, running to join the circle. She squeezed in between Yuuta and Kaito, flushed a pale pink. She hesitantly grabbed onto a piece of the scrap doll, Dekomori and Yuuta doing the same. Yuuta flashed Haruna a smile, green eyes twinkiling,

"Ready?" he called out loudly, lifting his free hand above his head. The group let out a loud yell in response before falling silent, chanting the phrase six times in their heads. The silences was thick, the only sound being the gush of wind against the windows and the soft, beginning patter of rain on the roof. Reiko quickly gave the instructions to tear the doll apart, and everyone did so at once, the doll ripping into six even pieces. Another command frm Reiko wast keep the scrap you received someplace safe, Yuuta quickly shoved it into his uniform pocket, letting out a hearty laugh while Ryoka delicately placed it into her school ID holder. Dekomori shoved it down her boot,

"I'll remember it when I take my shoes off later." she purred after receiving ten confused eyes turning towards her. Just then, a roar sounded. Loud and ominous. The floor began to shake, lights that dangled began to flicker. The rain outside was soon overpowered by the cry of the horrible earthquake that now ravaged the school. Ryoka shrieked, clinging to the closest person, which just so happened to be Kaito. Yuuta was flung onto his butt, eyes wide with fear,

    "Ryo-"

    "Everyone, stay calm!"

    "Kyaaaaah!"

A mixture of cries filled the room, and then a sickening crack. Twelve terrified eyes turned downwards to see a crevice slowly opening up below them. Dekomori, Ryoka, and Kaito were the first to be swallowed, her hands turned upwards instinctively to the sky, towards her brother,

"Yuuta!" she cried, her fingers splaying out into the empty air. Yuuta let out a sudden cry, reaching out towards her,

"Ryoka!" their fingers hit, clinging onto each other by the tips of their nails, and then she slipped away into the darkness of the crevice, vanishing from sight. Yuuta cried out in anguish, and the crevice finally devoured the remaining three.

Kaito was the first to awake, opening his eyes with a groan. What a terrible dream... Why was he on the ground? He sat up like a shot, looking around. It was a hallway, dark and dim, a dripping noise in the distance. There was a sick smell in the air, a scent like death. And the cold wind that passed through, almost like the hall was breathing, sent shivers down his spine.

He tried to recollect what had happened.
He had taken hold of the paper Reiko had said to hold, and then he had chanted along with everyone else. Sachiko ever after, that was what she had called the rite. Then they had ripped the doll, and he'd slipped his into his shirt pocket. Then... There'd been an earthquake? And Ryouka had clung to him- Ryouka?! He remembered now! Ryouka and He had been swallowed up!! Where was she?! He stood up shakily, his legs wobbly from the shock. Ryouka... He had to find Ryouka! Looking around, he saw her crumpled on the ground a few feet away.
"R-Ryouka!" he squeaked out, his voice caught in his throat at the sight of her. He rushed to her side, turning her over.
    "Ryouka! Ryouka, wake up! Ryouka!"

Ryoka's eyes fluttered open to find a blurry figure peering over her. The smells and sounds were unfamiliar, and it was nearly impossible to make out the face of the person leaning over her. At first she pulled away, her eyes wide with fear, but then she heard the figure's voice and found out it was simply Kaito. She reached forward slowly and touched his chest, and than she touched her face and realized that her glasses were gone. She began to panick, her voice caught in her throat as she tried to cry out or talk to Kaito, put someone tapped her head before she could truly make a noise. Another blurry figure stood tall over her, handing her a familiar object. Her glasses! She quickly replaced them onto her face, discovering a crack in the right lense. She stared up at the person who had given them to her with big, confused eyes,

"Ms. Dekomori, Kaito...? Where are we?" another cold wind rushed through the black hall, lifting up her pink hair softly while sending shivers through her body . Ms. Dekomori glanced around, her eyes narrowed behind sleek-looking frames,

"... Someplace that reeks of death."

Ryoka slowly stood up, glancing around the hall. She spun around quickly when she discovered Yuuta, Reiko, and Haruna to be missing,

"...! Reiko?! Haruna!!? Yuuta?!" she screamed into the darkness, tears swelling up in her eyes.

    ---

"Open up! Open up! Ryoka! Ryoka!"

Yuuta's fist smashed against a closed classroom door, sweat pouring down his face. The door was locked, or, wasn't even a door at all. It was hard to tell since the door seemed real but was transfixed to the wall like a poster. He soon slumped down against the wall, a tired look entering his bright eyes,

"Haruna, Reiko, the door won't open." he said finally, a loud sigh escaping his lips. Of course, they hadn't tried to find a key yet. They were too caught up in the moment of being trapped in a dark, dank classroom with a corpse in the corner.

Kaito held up a finger to his lips, looking at Ryoka in panic.
"Shush! We shouldn't raise our voices! ... I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about this place. There was an earthquake, we probably fell down under the school. I didn't see the others fall with us, they're probably up in the classroom on a higher level. We should try to get out, so we can call the police. We don't know if there were others in the school during the earthquake, they could be hurt too." he suggested, looking up at Ms. Dekimori.
"Ryoka, can you stand? We should get moving. There could be animals down here, and I don't wanna be found by them." he said, putting an arm on her shoulder and waist, helping her stand. Remembering something suddenly, he searched his pocket, pulling out a cracked cellphone.
"Shit! It must have been broken when we fell. Ms. Dekimori, Ryoka, do you have cellphones? We can try to call for the others with them."

Reiko pushed past Yuuta, examining the door.
"I think it's a spell on the door. It might be sealed from the outside. We'll have to find another way out, and fast! I can feel a very dark energy around us."
"A-A dark energy?" Haruna asked, trembling. Reiko nodded.
"Yes. I think that the spell on the door might not to keep us in, but to keep something else out."

Ryouka dug through her pockets, finding nothing. Probably dropped it during the fall. Dekomori pulled out her perfectly intact cellphone, examining it carefully,

"No service. I'm going to see if I can find some bars. Follow me." she commanded, walking into the darkness of the halls, holding her cellphone high into the air. Ryouka opened her mouth to stop her, but the light from the cellphone was soon gone into the darkness. She sighed, slowly stand up, dusting off her back side. A sharp pain over took her leg when she put it down, but she quickly hid any evidence of pain on her face. She didn't want to cause trouble. She glanced at Kaito, and then ran after Dekomori.

Dekomori stared out through purple-eyehadowed eyes, finding nothing but inky blackness ahead. The footsteps of her students echoed behind her, and she froze, waiting for them to catch up. Something was off about this place, the raw smell, the rotten, wooden floors, this was far from being underground.

    ---

Yuuta stood up again, his eyes scanning the classroom, there was a door on the far end, but a large crevice kept them from going over there. It was an easy jump for him , but he worried for the safety of the two girls. He then glanced at the corpse in the corner and shuddered. Definantly didn't want to investigate over there. He wandered over to the trembling Haruna, placing a hand on her shoulder,

"Don't worry, Haruna. Reiko and I will protect you from the evil spirits." he said with a thick voice, obviously trying t lighten the mood, as well as take his mind off of worrying for the safety of Ryouka.

Kaito followed Dekomori and Ryoka, watching their surroundings. The musky smell faded in his nostrils, being replaced by a sharper, more metallic smell. The smell of freshly spilt blood. His foot brushed past something squishy, and he looked down. It was a human hand! A... A human hand! He opened his mouth as if to scream in horror, but his voice caught in his throat as he realized that the hand wasn't alone. Scattered along the floor were dozens of mutilated limbs, filling the hall with the stench of blood. Ryoka and Dekomori hadn't seemed to notice. Without thinking he clamped his hands over Ryoka's eyes, shielding her from the horror.
"S-S-Sensei... On the ground... Humans!" he squeaked out, trembling in a cold sweat.

Reiko had noticed the crumpled corpse in the corner, feeling like she was going to vomit. This, this couldn't be real, right? It... It was probably a dummy, a manikin that someone hadn't cleaned up. She crept closer, picking up a board and tentatively touching the thing's head. It bit the board with a chomp, it's hair parting to reveal a disgusting, eyeless face, sharp teeth chomping on the board. Reiko let out a scream dropping the board. The head fell off, still biting at the air. In a fit of terror, she kicked the head into the crevice, before covering her ears and falling to her knees, crying.
"Th-there are evil spirits! We... We're going to die here! We're going to die!"
