Legacy of a Warrior (Mogtaki & Vena Sera IV)

The Tournament was once more a staple of the world's entertainment, dozens of fighters from around the globe had come to participate, each seeking personal fame and glory. Individuals from all walks of life and martial arts backgrounds competed with one another, vying for the top spot. Now finally nearing the final dozen fights of the tournament, the semi finals were all that remained before the grand finale. Crowds cheered loudly as competitors entered the stage, eager to see a display of power like nowhere else on the planet. It had been years since the final threat to the Earth, Majin Buu, was defeated. The earth's saviors, Saiyans as the world had come to learn, had integrated into their society. So much so that there were perhaps a dozen known halfbreeds, though none coming anywhere near in the strength of the previous generations. As a result a long span of peace had begun, spanning twenty seven years so far. Long since gone were the spectacular battles of the Saiyans, but seeing pure martial arts was just as entertaining, and certainly made for more fighters to show up.

An older man entered the stage first, incredibly large in size. The Boulder was the pseudonym the man went under, and his massive stature fit the name quite well. He was tanned and greatly muscled, winning the majority of his fights due to his sheer size alone. He was clad in a simple large cloth around his waist, briefs underneath one hoped. Clearly proud to show off his large physique, even if it meant a ridiculous outfit. It was no surprise the man had made it thus far, and he was a crowd favorite. The Boulder stomped his feet eagerly, throwing a fist into the air and inciting a rouse of cheers from the audience. In truth he was eager to be famous, and wasn't shy of showing it. Laughing cheerfully as he greeted what he considered his adoring fans, he largely ignored his opponent coming to the stage. After all, who was left to really pose a challenge to him?

A young boy of seventeen made his way to the ring, not showing any real signs of recognition at the cheers directed towards him. It was annoying really, the noise and drama that went into this competition. Half of the people, men and women alike, that he had fought so far hardly made him break a sweat. The boy was largely unimposing, despite the fact he was of Saiyan descent. A nest of long, black and wild hair sat ontop of his head, the better portion of which was fastened into a band to hold it back. He kept his tail concealed beneath the top of his outfit, hating to draw attention for it. The boy wore a navy blue set of training gear, similar in what Goku used to wear, a light cloth top and bottom. The top featured a serpent insignia over the left breast, an unknown master's symbol one would guess. Along the edges of the top was a yellow trim, and the top was fastened closed with a black belt around his midsection. Both of his hands were encompased in black cloth gloves with extra padding around the forearm and back of the hand. He stood on the stage before the larger man, smirking a bit before bowing. He was ready to begin, but of course the formalities had to be taken care of first. Patiently he waited for the announcer, not bothering to assume a stance.

The tournament was what he had been waiting for all these years, even if he only heard of it once and then suddenly decided that it's what he wanted to do. The kid was not an enthusiastic observer of the tournaments, he wasn't one of those strange fans you'd see on the first few rows just to see if they could catch the beads of sweat off the fighters just to feel the thrill of the fight; rather, the kid was part of the tournament itself. The age limit had been imposed many times, but when it came to certain guests at the tournament there was definitely a need to put the young participant in with the adults and not the other children. There had been a few times many years ago where the children were put in great danger because there was a pair of super-powered kids competing, it seemed now they had learned their lesson. While small, frail-looking and scruffy, the boy sported a long monkey tail which meant he was one of the few Saiyan creatures that had arrived in this generation. It would had been too dangerous for the children if he was in their line up, good thing he was only a year below the sixteen year old breakaway that the tournament had to suffer through.

It was exciting to watch all the people getting beat up, it was almost as exciting as fighting strong warriors. There was more to life than fighting, the kid knew that, but there was still something about it that got him all excited and unable to sleep. Compared to the other Saiyan boy out there, this one was completely untamed and excitable, a happy kid who cared little about his origins. While the other boy hid his tail, this one presented it freely even while others stared at it sometimes when he was around people; it was a tail, other people had it so it was nothing to be ashamed of. The other boy had yet to notice him, there was a lot of competition to push through in this place after all and word rarely travelled between the older and younger generation of fighters.

While this boy wasn't brown or black haired, instead sporting hair that hinted a copper colour in light, he did share similarities with the kid out on the field who was ready to battle a much larger human. The kid was dressed in simple clothes that you'd expect from a child from the wild, a simple little vest and some long shorts on but no shoes or hand wraps to be seen. His feet looked a little unusual, as if he had been using his toes to grasp onto things a lot only for them to form differently. The kid was definitely not one you'd see in society, but the tournament was definitely the kid's way to being drawn towards the public if only to fight and win. The Announcer was busy having a great time telling everyone who the combatants were, only the boy was more fascinated by how the fight might go compared to who might end up winning and who he will be facing.

The announcer had given the okay for the fight to begin, the crowd roared with excitement as the match finally commenced. The two fighters began to circle around the ring, Boulder hunching over with a smirk on his face, the young boy simply seeming uninterested in the match entirely. "What's wrong squirt? Scared?" the man taunted, laughing happily at his own taunt. He smacked his fists together and gave a loud battle cry, charging headlong at the boy only to come to a skidding stop. The young Saiyan had easily moved to the side from the much slower man, now off to the man's right. Boulder smirked, rolling a shoulder as he readied himself for another attack. "Slippery lil' guy aren't you? Stand still kid!" He rushed again, this time wincing a bit as the boy jumped up, a foot catching him on the top of the head and propelling the boy over Boulder. Skidding to a halt again, now he was really annoyed, the kid was playing with him, and he was smiling?

"You damned oaf..." the boy said bluntly, smiling as he took a fighting stance. He had wanted to gauge his opponent's skill, and could clearly see this man was nothing but a mass of muscle, no skill whatsoever. Playtime was over, hopefully the final fight would prove to be more entertaining. Taunting the 'idiotic slab of meat' that the boy had deemed, he smirked when the man rushed him again. As the distance shortened he drew a fist back, letting it release at the last moment directly into the gut of his attacker. The crowd went silent for a moment, this was the first time the boy hadn't put on a show, no one thought him capable of what he had just done. Boulder let out an airy groan before tumbling forward, the boy moving to the side as he collapsed. The announcer did the customary count, and it was decided the Boulder was unable to continue, the boy had entered the final fight on one blow. Smirking, he made his way down the stairs towards the lobby, ignoring the crowd of men who had come to the arena to clear away the large opponent. As he passed through the door he sent a glance towards the younger boy, immediately recognizing him as another Saiyan. Interesting... he thought... It appeared it would be a battle of the Saiyans for the crown.

"And with that, Takeshi moves on to the final round! Next up, the last of the semi-final matches! Will the two contestants please enter the arena?" The announcer called out with flair, always having been exceptional at inciting cheers from the crowds. He grinned proudly and gestured to the gate, waiting patiently for the fighters to exit.

The fight had barely lasted, that was one big disappointment on the kid's part while everyone else seemed to be more than amazed by how quickly it had finished. It was strange, just why would anybody want to finish something off that quickly when fighting was pretty damn fun for anybody who was in a tournament. For the next fight, it was going to be him that was going to face up against somebody, but now he wasn't too sure whether to draw out the fight or to go straight on like the other kid did. It would be fun to see if they were as good as they made themselves out to be, but then that would mean he would need to win against the fighter he was going up against. With barely giving a look at the kid who had just won, he was immediately down from his post and running off to get ready for his match-up. By the looks of it, and sounds of from the other people, he was going up against a wrestler who obviously spent too much time on training himself than having fun like everybody should do.

So that was where it was to start, the announcer was already going nuts from the last fight but was kind enough to introduce the two contestants: Big Bill versus Shu. It was obvious that the kid was not called Big Bill, but Shu was barely a name in itself not to mention something he lacked on his feet. Maybe the name was on account of laziness in his parents, if he ever lived with them at all on account to how he looked like a little homeless kid, not to mention acted as if he actually was a monkey from the wild. With no shoes on Shu's feet, the wrestler was quick to pick up on that while using all the power his brain could muster to come up with an insult, "Gahaha!! Shu?? More like Shu-LESS!" he laughed in an obnoxious fashion, but of course Shu stared at him as if he didn't get it.

Without any such warning, the fight was started and Shu was immediately in there, kicking the guy in the head with his naked foot; needless to say, the man went toppling down faster than the hit was delivered. Shu had managed to do what the other kid, Takeshi, had managed to do before. There was not much said after that, especially from the crowd. There was that little moment of silence before the announcer broke through with a loud announcement, one that even made Shu jump a little before everyone had a good cheer about it. The entire thing was quick, but it was good and Shu knew that by taking down his opponent quickly it meant he was going to have a good fight against the other kid. Taking his leave from the stage, he bounced back to where he came from without a care in the world.

Takeshi watched the fight from the lobby with feigning interest, having figured it would be a short fight regardless. So they were both Saiyans, no doubt, which would make this an interesting match. He couldn't help but smirk as he watched the announcer declare Shu the winner, keeping against the wall he leaned against as Big Bill was a carted in into the infirmary. He recieved a few glances from some of the paramedics, all of which were met with a venemous gaze, quickly sending their glances downwards. How obnoxious, he hated that because of their strength they were such spectacles. Goku and Vegeta had been leagues stronger than they were, as were their children and grand children, as he was told, so why did they stand out? It was obnoxious to say the least, but supposedly inevitable, being of the same race as the earth's protectors. Perhaps the biggest bother of it all was that, rather than be feared and avoided for his strength, people were awestruck and admired him rather than steer clear of him. Idiots, all of them...
His attention shifted as Shu came bounding back into the lobby, his eyes not leaving the younger boy as he came through the doorway. He was so cheerful, a clown if nothing else. Still... From here he could tell the boy had a good amount of power behind that small frame, he was interested to see how strong the boy was. With a small smirk he couldn't help but grab the boy's attention, calling out to him. "Good fight Shu, too bad you're going to lose the final match." It was a tease and a threat, he had no intention of letting the prize money slip through his fingers. The title of world's strongest was irrelevant, he and this boy probably were just that already. For Takeshi it was more of a monetary motivation than anything else, the fighting so far had been dull and irrelevant. "Hope you've got plenty of strength, I need a good punching bag."

It was nice and a pretty good event was about to occur, just as soon as the final match would start. Shu couldn't wait to fight again, but of course he couldn't wait to get back to adventuring and living on the edge too. There wasn't much distracting this boy from the now, but it was difficult to ignore a pair of eyes on him. Looking around, he eventually found them coming from the other Saiyan, the victor from the previous match. There was a sudden wave of shyness yet curiosity that was washing over him, but at least it wasn't just another bully boy that had approached. Staring at them for a moment as they called out to him, he couldn't quite understand what he was talking about before he figured it was one thing, "You think so? Nahh, I'm going to win", he said pretty calmly, as if it was all part of normal conversation, "Although I don't know where to find a punching bag big enough to go measure up to my strength! Don't suppose you know where I could get that big a punching bag for you?"

Takeshi couldn't help but smirk, albeit an annoyed one at that. Getting off of the wall he leaned on he walked over to Shu, looking down at him a bit amused before ruffling his hair teasingly. "Listen kid, wishful thinking but you're not going to beat me. You're leagues behind me." he taunted, folding his arms across his chest. Whether it was true or not in reality, Takeshi firmly believed it. He had never met someone who could best him, and thanks to being what he called a "true Saiyan" he thought himself the strongest fighter on earth. No way was some kid going to beat him, especially not keep him from the grand prize. The boy had an innocent air about him, and it bothered him more than it should. He was a fighter too, a member of what was a legendary race of warriors, and he was so playful, it annoyed him. His mind couldn't help but drift towards Goku, it was exactly how he had always acted, no matter what. Meanwhile Takeshi was far more akin to Vegeta, taking pride in his strength and being a loner of sorts. Though he perhaps owed his life to Goku and his family, the man's legacy was annoying, everywhere he went he heard about it.

The announcer was heard over the loudspeakers, it would be ten minutes until the final fight, plenty of time to relax. Not that either of them needed it it seemed, the two boys had only struck once to win their fight, they were far from tired. With a small sigh, Takeshi went back to the door and watched the workers move about the arena, readying it for the final battle. The noise was still obnoxously loud, making his brow furrow in faint anger. Why couldn't these damn people just shut up already. A thought came to his mind, and before he forgot he glanced over his shoulder, smirking at Shu teasingly. "Tell ya what kid, if you put up a decent fight I'll buy you an ice cream cone, sound good?" It was a joke more than anything, though Shu was hardly much younger the maturity difference between the two was apparent. Hopefully a good fight would knock some sense into the kid.

Shu didn't want to be touched and immediately shook his head, giving it a quick scratch after Takeshi had invaded his personal privacy. He wasn't looking like he was understanding what was going on exactly or why it was all being said to him, but he still gave a smile and stared at Takeshi as if he was trying to understand what was being said to him, "Heh, what? I will beat you, don't worry about that", he said, thinking it was all just a joke. He wasn't understanding this taunting at all, he was just talking to a complete stranger who was having an odd time making Shu feel welcomed to fight this guy. Shu was going to try and be nice, even if he didn't quite understand what this guy was getting at, but he was pretty confident that he'd win against this guy. He didn't care for the prize, he didn't even know what the prize was other than fighting and winning in this tournament, "I'll win, but I don't even know why you're talking to me like that. What does that mean, 'leagues behind'? What's a league?"

"You're kidding right...?" Takeshi asked simply, giving Shu an incredulous glance before rolling his eyes. Either this kid was playing dumb or completely oblivious, either way it was annoying him. Sighing softly he nodded out towards the ring, getting a self confident smirk again. "It means I'm better than you, and you won't win this fight. Keep thinking you will, it's not going to change the fact I'll be the one on the top by the end of this." While Shu's less than astute question did annoy him, part of him actually thought it was, in a way, funny. But he wasn't here to give the boy an English lesson, whether he understood Takeshi or not was unimportant. He habitually played with one of his gauntlets, humming absentmindedly to himself as he did so. He was excited for the fight and wanted to get it started already, only a few more minutes... "I am going to say this once, so pay attention," he added, glancing over at the younger Saiyan with a grin. "Let's at least put on a good show? The other morons we fought were nothing, so how about we give these people something to really cheer about?"

The announcer had come back out onto the stage, Takeshi assumed, because the crowd had erupted into cheering once more. No doubt, after a moment of cheering his voice rang out once more, thankfully silencing the cheers for a moment anyways. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are but two minutes from the final fight! Who is going to walk away with the prize this year? Will it be the lovable Shu, or the stone-cold Takeshi? Let's hear it for the boys who made it to the end!" That got a roar from the people again, he sure knew how to rile them up. Giving a moment for them to ease down, the announcer turned to the doorway, a wide smile on his face. "Boys! Come out whenever you're ready! You have two minutes, but why not treat the crowd with some fancy footwork?"

Shu wasn't sure how he was supposed to be feeling over such claims, but he was sure as hell feeling confused about it. It was as if this guy could see into the future, but the future couldn't had been like that, he thought for sure he was going to win. Maybe it was all a cunning trick to make him scared about losing so that he'd actually lose, or maybe the guy was just being silly and screwed up that prediction pretty well; besides, Shu had a pretty sweet dream before this day, involving winning something that would change his life forever. He got all happy again after remembering that, bouncing on his feet slightly looking just as happy as he felt before he walked up after Takeshi to his post, quickly bouncing on his tail, "You know! I'd like that! I'm going to be a winner so they'd like that", he said, completely disregarding what Takeshi had taunted him with earlier.

He was ready to go, ready to push it to the next level and be the little warrior he always knew he was. He wasn't completely passionate about fighting, he just loved the thrill he got when he came out of a fight successful and alive, he was really just passionate about having fun. Everybody deserved to have fun, even the audience, so he was going to deliver fun in the only way he knew how to. After the announcer gave the all clear to go, Shu immediately sprung off his tail and spun in the air a couple of times before landing on his feet, running up to the stage. He was excited, it was going to be fun fighting someone at his level, even if their predictions came out as a bunch of fail in his eyes, "Yeah! I'm ready! I want to fight!"
