"Good, you're getting it. Let the Ki flow back, stop concentrating on it. Then, try it again, but this time try and create a ball in your hands. If you focus, you can condense the energy. Don't overdo it though." Takeshi said, getting to his feet and walking over to Shu, standing over him as he watched expectantly. This could end up being easier than he thought, if the kid was getting a hang of it this quickly. They might not have to spend as much time on focusing energy as he had worried, which meant they could move on to flying faster. Shu had to be careful though, it was easy to let the power get away from you at first, and harder still to maintain it for long. "If it helps, think of a ball in your mind, focus on the shape of that. If it gets to be too much, stop trying to release it." This was a dangerous ability he was teaching, but considering how obliviously cheerful and trusting Shu was, Takeshi was certain it'd never be used for malicious purposes. Even if by some off chance the younger boy tried though, Takeshi reckoned he would be able to beat the kid, or at least restrain him. He couldn't care less for strangers, but a rogue Saiyan giving their race a bad name wasn't going to help him any.

Shu was looking like he was struggling a little to control it, but was still trying to make Takeshi proud of him for trying. He was trying hard, it was pretty difficult to control but Takeshi seemed pleased with him; however, he was probably trying a little too hard to impress. As he tried to gather up his erratic energy, it sparked wildly around with raw power. As he tried to focus it and gather it into a ball, there was a sudden bright flash and it was gone, flying across the field before blowing up against a bush. Needless to say, the bush was no more after that and Shu was now lying on his back in the grass, "Ooh owww, that was coooooool..." he sighed as he slowly sat up again, rubbing his hands together as he slowly looked up at Takeshi, "I didn't mean to do that! But, uhhmmmm...did I do good? Was that good? It went flying! I've never done that before! I did something new! Wasn't that great??"

"Not bad Shu, not bad..." Takeshi mumbled, his attention at the now incinerated bush across the field in honest surprise. He hadn't expected Shu to be able to actually bring out his power, much less be able to project it like that. Watching the boy lay down he worried for a moment, relaxing when he sat back up and began his incessant questions again. Smiling a bit amused, the first time he had smiled at Shu, he reached down and gently knocked the kid on the top of the head with a fist, rolling his eyes. "But be careful next time? I like having grass and trees around here, don't burn them all away?" He bet Shu would be able to get it at this rate, no doubt. Taking a few steps away, he gestured for Shu to stand up, raising an eyebrow expectantly as he folded his arms across his chest. "If you're feeling up to it, try it again. This time though..." He paused, pointing to a not too distant, medium sized rock in the field. "Try hitting that and blowing it away. You can bring the energy out, now you need to control the blast. Whenever you're ready." As much as he hated too admit it, Takeshi was beginning to give his approval to the kid, when just a few hours ago he wanted nothing to do with it. He was far from considering the kid a friend yet, but he was tolerable now at least.

Shu was pretty happy when Takeshi had given him the gesture of approval, something he felt more than proud to receive from someone like Takeshi. With a quick bounce to his feet, Shu stared at Takeshi with great interest in what he was instructing, his level of confidence with this strange new power increasing pretty well. He was excited to be training like this, it was a lot of fun even if it proved to be a little dangerous and fully capable of causing a lot of damage. He couldn't understand why someone would need such power for anything, it just seemed to really hurt and possibly kill someone, but then again he had seen very little of it in the short time he had been around Takeshi. Nodding quickly, he soon tried to concentrate his energy again, this time doing it a lot quicker than before; however, when he tried to hit the rock with it, all it did was miss each time while leaving large holes in the ground around it. Shu was panicking somewhat, struggling to gain the approval again that he so desperately wanted from Takeshi.

Takeshi sighed softly, looking up skyward as he listened to the several blasts slamming into the ground, kicking up debris and littering the yard. Well... So much for being adept, he thought disappointedly. When the blasts stopped, he looked at Shu a bit bothered, smirking before holding a hand out to the rock and, without looking, blasted the rock into shards with ease going back to Shu and smacking the back of his head, though not quite hard but more in a "You messed up" way. "You tried too much at once, you need to focus Shu, otherwise that happen," he stated bluntly, nodding towards the craters now at the other end of his property. He decided it might be best to put off energy blasts for now, flying would spare his yard at least, they could find a better practice ground for the former later. With a deep sigh, he glanced up to the sky, seeing that they had probably two hours before it started to get dark, they might as well touch up on flight. "All right... Enough of that. Do you have enough energy to try out flying?"

Shu was panicking a good bit as he continued to fire the energy erratically, trying his best to get that rock but was completely missing it or simply blowing parts of it off completely. The poor kid was trying his hardest, but it really did appear that aiming was not his strong point, especially when it came to things that were too far away for him to properly hit with something he was still new at. The moment the rock blew up, Shu's heart jumped slightly as if he thought he did it himself before almost falling forward from the force of the slap. Looking up at Takeshi, it was evident that he was the one who did it considering how he worded his sentence, making Shu look to the craters quickly before back again, "I'm sorry! I tried my best but it wasn't good enough! I didn't mean to make such a mess! I'm sorry..." he said quickly, soon hanging his head dejectedly before looking back up at Takeshi at the mention of flying, "I-I guess so, but what if I blow up like the energy? I don't want that, it'd hurt and I'd probably be dead too".

Takeshi couldn't help it, he really didn't want to do so in front of Shu, but he actually began to laugh. "Blow up? You won't blow up trying to fly kid, at most you'll fall down once or twice!" he exclaimed through the laugh, calming down after a moment before simply grinning at the young boy amused. That was the most ridiculous thing he'd heard from this boy yet, even if he didn't know much about Ki he didn't see how one would draw that conclusion. Shaking his head at the silly idea, he reache down, ruffling Shu's hair once more, though this time in a kinder fashion than he did before, almost kindly even. "You're good for a laugh at least squirt, I'll give you that. Now, let's get this underway huh?" He stepped back, taking one more look at the craters with a soft sigh. Well.. That was going to be an issue, he'd clean it up eventually he supposed. Still, a least the kid hadn't damaged his home, then he'd probably have kicked him all the way back to the city. "Now, to fly you're going to focus your energy again, but this time to the soles of your feet. When you finally get the energy flowing, try pushing it out to lift yourself. Do it slowly again though, we don't need you shooting off like a rocket."

Shu tapped his fingers together, still looking unsure as to whether he would be safe flying around or really would blow up like he thought might happen, even when he had seen birds fly plenty before and not blow up. Looking a little bewildered at Takeshi actually laughing for once, that look quickly disappeared when his hair was scruffed up once more and he was well on to training some more once again. Nodding enthusiastically, he stepped back a little himself and tried to stand in the same way Takeshi was, as if mimicking his movements in hope that it would heighten his chances for success. It sounded quite exciting to fly, although he had no idea how it might had been done when he hadn't seen Takeshi fly. Looking to his feet, he analysed them and even picked up his own foot to try and suss out what part was the sole area. After a brief moment of analysing his own foot, he soon began to jump up and down on the spot a few times before standing still, staring at his feet the entire time, "Do I flap my arms around too like a bird? Birds do that all the time! I've never seen a human fly without being in a nasty looking shell-thing..."

"No Shu... You do not flap your arms, and those things are called airplanes..." Takeshi replied deflatedly, once more annoyed with Shu despite his best efforts to be tolerant. Looking at the boy carefully for a moment he decided the best thing to do was give him a demonstration, easy enough. Smiling a bit smuggly, he lifted off of the ground soundlessly, staying in a hover about ten feet off the ground as he looked down at Shu expectantly, folding his arms across his chest. "Like that. Just stand still and focus like I said before. When you feel the energy flowing down, slowly let it out and you'll rise up. At least... You should..." Flight was going to be a bit more complicated than he had thought, it was going to take them a while. With today coming to a close as well, they had best make some decent progress, otherwise today was a waste in his eyes. Takeshi figured he'd get up early the next morning to search for some decent training grounds, lest Shu blow his entire property apart. Here and now though, it was simply getting Shu off of the ground.

Shu looked to his arms before keeping them to his side, feeling a little disappointed that he wouldn't be able to flap them around. He hadn't seen this flying business at all so it was a little strange to hear about it and that it wasn't like every other animal or metal airplane-thing that flew. Watching Takeshi cautiously, he tilted his head when he started to fly up into the air, looking strange as he did when his arms were folded like that. Moving under him for a moment to check to see what the soles of his feet were like only to see no difference, he moved back into position and began to jump on the spot, "Don't your shoes ever fall off? I don't wear shoes because they fall off", he said quickly before deciding to stand still as instructed. He wanted to fly, it sounded and looked like it would be a lot of fun to fly so he concentrated more on trying to fly when compared to destroying things. Keeping low to the ground, he tried to push the flow of energy down to his feet as he remained in that position for a short time; however, it wasn't long before he started to float. He didn't seem to realise he was floating upwards, he appeared to be concentrating too much on the thought of flying to notice what was reality. By the time he realised he was having a float upwards, he suddenly dropped to the ground and landed on his feet pretty hard, "Owwww...ooh! Did you see that?? Did you see?? I did it for a second there!"
