"Fun? Oh, it'll be fun all right." Yumi replied, cracking her knuckles while smiling at Roshi. Any ideas he may have had at the moment disappeared as the hermit hid behind Takeshi, poking his head out to see if things were safe. Laughing, the lone woman of the group grabbed her bag, going into the house to make herself at home. She'd at least be spending the night on this island, may as well set up for the night. There were no spare rooms downstairs, so up she went, and much to her pleasure she found a guest bedroom, only it unfortunately had two beds. She'd ask Shu to spend the night with her, she didn't hate him and knew that at least he wasn't after her. Tossing her bag on the bed by the window she fell back onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling dully. Well this was a fine mess she had gotten herself into. Had she known she'd be going to a remote island she would have never agreed to go along with those boys otherwise. Nothing she could do about it now though, it wasn't likely that they'd take her back until tomorrow, so she'd put up with them for now.

Takeshi paid no mind to Roshi as the old man went inside as well, instead going over to Shu while he was rolling around. Smiling faintly amused he knelt down in his way, looking at him curiously when he bumped up against his leg. The younger boy was now covered in sand, and to think he had only just gotten that new set of clothes this afternoon. Sighing softly he reached down, dusting off the boy's shirt before raising an eyebrow expectantly. "What are you doing...? You can't do that Shu, if you do that we're going to run out of clothes for you to wear. Go dust yourself off." Smirking, he got back to his feet and walked over to the house, leaping up onto the roof and reclining against it casually, hands folded behind his head as he relaxed. The sun would be going down shortly, and as a result there wasn't very much glare, he could comfortably lay up here and enjoy the view. Not that there was much to see, just a lot of water really. It beat putting up with the morons inside the house though.

Shu's fun was interrupted by that sudden bounce off Takeshi's leg that usually meant getting up and navigating around it, only he was being told off for doing such. He stared at Takeshi for a moment before suddenly shaking himself like a dog, getting off quite a generous amount of sand before he ran off over to Roshi's couch, getting all comfy on it before curling up in a little ball on it. He was feeling not too bad after all that, despite the confusion of the task they needed to complete before they could be allowed to be trained. If the training went well then that would be just perfect, but he still didn't know how it would help him rediscover more about himself. There was still so many questions to be answered but he didn't even think Takeshi would be able to answer them until he saw the real reason to why he needed to learn how to defend himself using his own energy as projectiles. There was no way he was learning all this just because it was part of whatever race he was again, Saiyan or something, but he was sure that there was a purpose bigger than he could even dream of awaiting in the near future.

After sitting on the roof for a while Takeshi began to get rather uncomfortable, deciding to get down and go inside the house instead. Shu had once again taken up residence on the couch, and Roshi was on the other, face buried in a book once more. Sighing to himself he sat beside Shu, giving a soft yawn with a stretch before propping his feet up on the coffee table. He was just about ready to sleep, though there were still a few hours left in the day before it even turned dark outside, sleeping now would be a colossal waste of time. Instead he looked over at Shu thoughtfully for a moment, trying to decide if they should do a bit of training of their own. A different idea came to mind, as well as smile to his lips, as he reached over and nudged the boy a bit to get his attention. "Hey kid... If you want answers to some questions, why not ask them now?" This was the first time he'd ever encouraged Shu to start talking, it was usually the other way around. Takeshi figured he had plenty of questions about Saiyans though, and he was fine with answering those. Talking about their race gave him a sense of pride, he was always happy to gloat about their superior fighting skills. If any blanks came up in his knowledge, Roshi probably knew just as much if not more by now, he'd be able to help with the lesson. "Whatever comes to mind ask away. I'll do my best to answer them."

The slight bounce of the couch was felt by Shu, yet it was largely ignored as he looked pretty ready for sleeping through the rest of the day and night just so he could start training. Only when Takeshi gave him a casual nudge, he looked up at him curiously before he rolled over slightly, thinking about what to say, "...Well...what are Saiyans anyway? Where did we come from? Where are the rest? What am I training for? Why do we both have tails? You don't look like a monkey..." he asked, blasting them all at once just to get the basics off his mind, "I don't know anything about nothing on this land other than what I grew up with! I like fighting and all that, but nobody else was ever wanting to do it as much as I did." He was really confused about everything, Takeshi was similar yet very different from him at the same time and he didn't know why. He was happy enough living in ignorance, but now that a whole new world was open to him he just had to know why.

Takeshi should have known better, as sure enough a storm of questions was sent his way. He'd become a bit more patient with Shu though, and rather than tell the kid off for asking so many, he actually took a moment to think of answers. "Saiyans are a race of people who are strong warriors. Or, we were anyways, most of our kind was killed off... Our kind has a knack for battle, and we get stronger faster than any other race, making us ideal fighters. We originally came from Planet Vegeta, which is where our greatgrandparent's had come from to begin with. Since the planet is no longer there though, you and I are technically from here, from Earth." He almost wanted to go into why Planet Vegeta was destroyed, but that could wait for another day. Also, telling Shu their race were violent and usually ruthless killers probably wasn't the best idea ever, it'd probably really upset him. "We're training because, well... It's what Saiyans should do I guess. We need to become stronger, if the Earth is ever in trouble there needs to be warriors to protect it, and that pretty much comes down to us. And the reason we have tails, all Saiyans are born with them. It let's us-"

"It makes you stronger." Roshi butt in, cutting Takeshi off. The older boy didn't seem to mind his interruption, knowing it was for the best Shu was kept out in the dark on that part. Sitting up from his spot the hermit smiled at Shu, placing his magazine on the table beside his sofa. "The one thing you can never do though, and keep this in the front of your mind. Never look directly at a full moon. It'll hurt you, a lot, so always avoid it if you can." The Hermit knew personally how dangerous a full moon could be to a Saiyan with a tail, he'd have to be very watchful to make sure neither of these boys were ever exposed to it. If, Heaven forbid, either of them ever did transform, he worried that they didn't have the means to stop them, it could potentially be catastrophic.

Shu slowly sat up to stare at Takeshi as he told his tale about the Saiyans, Shu more curious about the fact that a different planet existed where they came from originally. He only heard of planets from the strange picture boxes like the one in the living room just now, but it was pretty obscure information, especially when the information was coming from a drama or sci-fi show based around aliens. He was pretty fascinated by what Takeshi was telling him, a smile on his face the entire time and his tail flipping around with curiosity before Roshi suddenly butted in. He felt really rather curious now, grabbing his tail and staring at it as if wondering how exactly it made him stronger. It sounded like a reasonable thing to say, he could balance on it pretty well and swing through trees using it due to the abnormal length it was compared to Takeshi's regular tail, but he didn't think it was that great deal more special than anything else, "Ooohhhh...huh? Moon? The one who taught me to speak said that too and how it's been destroyed a few times...how did it get back? Who brought the moon back? Did they want us getting hurt? Do the people not like us? Did the Earth feel lonely without the moon?" he asked once more, as if he was finding out about the world for the first time in his life. He had been taught only limited information and luckily for him when he was growing up he often slept on the floor of the jungle where the light of the moon could never reach him, even on a clear night; there was always something that told him it was bad to be in the moonlight, but he always thought that was simply a hunch.

"Oh dear..." Roshi said, laughing a bit before getting to his feet, magazine in hand. "Takeshi, I'll leave this to you, time for this master to hit the hay." With a stretch and small yawn, the old hermit shuffled down the hallway, disappearing into at the end. Part of him was tempted to go peek on Yumi, but it was late, that could wait until tomorrow. Placing the magazine in a pile with a few others he sat on his bed, looking in the general direction of the two boys. It was going to be an interesting few weeks having those two around, they were already plenty strong, but lacked direction. For their sake, and probably for those around them, they'd need to learn how to control their inhuman power, otherwise a lot of people could be hurt. Especially if that tail of theirs caused any transfomations, he didn't know what they'd do then.

Left to answer on his own, Takeshi cursed Roshi under his breath before smiling at Shu. "Well... Let's see..." How to go about answering these... In honesty, he didn't know how on earth the moon had been destroyed, but he knew how it had been brought back. "The Dragonballs." He said plainly, shifting a bit so he was laid out on the couch, tail wrapped around his waist leisurely. "The Dragonballs are magic orbs, brought to us by Namekians. Those, by the way, are the green people like Dende, also from another planet. Anyways, when gathered together, you can summon a dragon from them, called Shenron. Shenron will grant you three wishes for finding all seven of the Dragonballs, as long as they're within his power that is." That much he knew from Gohan's book. Most people apparently had thought of that as just a legend, as there wasn't any obvious wishes made since the book's inception. "I don't know if the moon was destroyed to hurt us, or protect us. And I don't know if whoever did it liked or hated us, it happened too many years ago. But the Earth needs the moon, they work together, in a way. Unfortunately for us it can also harm us, so we need to avoid it." Takeshi wanted to put an emphasis on avoiding the moon, knowing full well what happened when exposed to it. He was confident in his ability to avoid it, he'd done so all his life with the knowledge of what would happen. Shu on the other hand only had the words of others to go by, and he worried his curiosity would get the better of him sooner or later. Yawning, he laid back against the arm of the couch, glancing at the other boy curiously. "If you don't have any more questions, I think I'm ready to sleep."

Shu watched Roshi curiously, not quite understanding why the guy wouldn't want to learn about all this too or correct anything if there was something wrong with the facts. Shu knew nothing about anything before him about all this except the few things Takeshi had told him, so of course he was going to find it interesting no matter what. Smiling away to Takeshi, his expression dropped into wonderment when he mentioned the Dragon Balls, slowly inching closer from his spot, "Oooohhhh...wishes? Wow...I would never know what to wish for! It sounds neat..." he said curiously, tilting his head slightly before pulling back, scratching his chest, "I don't know what a dragon is...the moon is so interesting too! Now I really know not to look! I'll never look, no, no, no..." He was pretty content for now, he had probably bugged Takeshi enough with his questions; although now that he had asked them, he thought for sure he was going to end up dreaming about the stories he was told about the Saiyan race, "I don't have anymore just now. Sleep is nice! I like sleep too, I dream nice at night time..."

"Good, good..." Takeshi mumbled through a yawn, stretching in his place for now. He was glad to have gotten through all of that as quickly as they had, because he relly was quite tired. Rolling onto his side with an arm tucked under his head as a pillow he closed his eyes, steadily starting to drift off to sleep again. They had a big day ahead of them tomorrow, the first day of their training would begin. He doubted it would be anything too strenuous, after all with an old man like Roshi leading the way it was bound to be a breeze really. The Ki training was all he was interested in, a chance to become stronger in his mind. If he had to go along with the ridiculous martial arts for now he would, whatever it took to get the experience he wanted. Shu and Yumi would probably take a while to get down the basics of Ki control, which meant things like the Kamehameha were a long ways off, weeks even. As he slipped further into sleep, he smiled at the thought of actually having a "family" now. Though he would never dare admit it to any of them, he had longed for the company of others and finding these three, strange though they were, seemed to fill that void. Granted, it was a dysfunctional family, but a family nonetheless.

Shu continued to smile away, his current mental state having improved greatly since the start of their little tussle at the very start. He was going to be a lot more patient this time round if that was even possible for somebody like Shu, he hoped Takeshi wouldn't go so fast this time or expect a lot out of him; after all, he had hoped that their flying would had triggered something in Takeshi to teach him how to land. He snuggled up on the couch, getting all comfy before he tried to sleep. He had gotten used to such a soft bedding for sleeping on, it was nice to know he was going to be comfy when he went to sleep while feeling less than a little stiff each time. He couldn't wait for tomorrow, but even with his feeling of anticipation the sun going down always meant sleeptime for him, no matter what season it was. It was some sort of trigger response for him, he had learned it all the way back and proved useful for avoiding the moon at night as well. Keeping pretty close to Takeshi, he snuggled up and went to sleep without another sound.
