Im interested. I've recently begun rping and I like it. Do you have a character sheet?
Hey guys,
I'm new to the site, but I came over with several others from another RPG site that is quickly dying. And here is my first offering. Figured I'd put this in the Advanced section as well.
Create-A-Hero RPG!
I am the Game Master, and this is my world.
This is the world of Earth in my universe, where I and my fellow Game Masters are the sole powers. This universe is ours to shape to our will, and those that defy us cease to exist.
In the center of this universe resides the planet known as Earth. Being the center of the universe, this blue world has a special significance to us Game Masters, and so many cosmic events shall involve or focus on this infinitesimal, yet important sphere. This is by design, not accident. Unfortunately for the planet, they know not of our existence, nor their importance in this universe. They simply exist in a world they think they control.
To most of the people on this world, everyday life does not involve aliens, supernatural battles, or cosmic conflicts. However, this is about to change, for my fellow Game Masters and I have chosen to ignite the spark in this planet as well as in other worlds. Soon heroes and villains alike, both powerful and powerless, will appear and the conflicts will begin.
Much mystery will be revealed by these noble and nefarious beings. The Lost City of Atlantis is hidden, much like we Game Masters are, however soon this ancient realm may be unearthed to the rest of the planet, to either the world's detriment or delight. Even the wondrous civilization of the Moon and beyond may choose to unveil themselves after millenia spent in hiding. Marvels both technological and magical await those who possess the fortitude to seek them out, however this would be their choice.
We Game Masters only interfere when times require it.
There is but one organization the Humans have already. This organization is called S.T.R.I.K.E., which stands for Super Terrestrial Review Inside Known Encounters, and it searches already for the unknown. These humans have already been preparing for the event that my fellow Game Masters and I will initiate, and soon they will be busy trying to catalogue and enlist the enhanced humans and non-humans in their organization.
Will these beings join with them or spurn their offer? Only time will tell.
The sudden birth of powerful beings will urge some un-enhanced humans to harbor fear and resentment. Some will take up weapons and technology and form groups to protect themselves and their families. They may be the most powerful yet for they fight as though their very existance is at stake.
So, let the Great Experiment begin as the spark of evolutionary power finds it's way into the creatures of the cosmos. Only time will tell if we chose wisely, for even we Game Masters cannot see the future...
A host of new heroes and villains will soon make their presence felt, you can be the next legend.
Be a part of the action. Create your own superhero and protect humanity.
Or create the ultimate villain and rule us all.
The time is now, which side will you choose?
Im interested. I've recently begun rping and I like it. Do you have a character sheet?
Character sheets will be made available when the OOC goes up.
And in case you didn't read it in the Advanced Interest Check thread Shape, you know I'm all in for this.
If you want a basis for how the character sheet will LIKELY look though (bearing in mind Shape's the GM here, not me) so you can make an early jump on it and hit the ground running when it starts, here's an old one we used playing a similar game (this is a completely fresh start):
Create a Hero RPG SEASON Application
Character you have created:
Alias:
Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not) - we used to have a set font/colour style we'd have to make each character stand out more to make character dialogue easier to pick out and read, I've noticed that seldom happens here but I still like it. Adds to character identity:
Character Alignment: Hero/Villain/Walking the Line
Identity: Secret/Known
Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations):
Uniform/costume: Briefly describe or post a picture of what your character's costume looks like (we had a guy on board, known as trusty here, who used to make cool little micro heroes and we'd add all the characters to a character board - plus it makes it easier to picture the character beyond what's revealed in text I guess):
Origin Info/Details:
Hero Type (Select one):
Normal (Non-powered characters)
Brick/Muscle
Elemental (Select: Water, Wind, Earth)
Energy (What kind of energy? Ex. Electricity, Fire)
Psychic
Acrobat
Speedster
Gray Matter (Super-smart characters)
Shape Shifter
Mystic (Spell casters/magic users)
Supernatural (Divine agents, Vampires, werewolves, Cosmic deities)
Power Level (Select one below):
1. Street Level (Ex. Punisher, Daredevil)
2. City Level (Ex. Spider-Man, Cyclops)
3. World Level (Ex. Flash, Superman)
4. Cosmic (Ex. Silver Surfer, Green Lantern)
NOTE: Having only one or two powers does not automatically make a character a level 2. The levels reflect how powerful the powers themselves are, not only the variety. A level 3 may be more powerful then a level 4. These levels serve to show where your powerful hero operates, as heroes this powerful may be cosmic wonderers or Earth-bound. Also, Game Masters will be wary of approving level 3 or 4 characters. An extremely well-thought out and great sample post will be needed to be approved for a high level character. Your post should be as powerful as your character.
Powers (Be Specific):
Attributes (Select one at each category):
Strength Level: Normal Human, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, or 100 tons. (Characters stronger then 100 tons fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters)
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Normal Human, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, or 100 MPH. (Characters at 100 MPH or faster fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters)
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Normal Human, 2, 3, 4, 5 hours. (Characters at 5 hours or more fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters)
Agility: Normal Human, 5X, 10X, 15X, or 20X Human level. (Characters at 20X or higher fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters)
Intelligence: Average/Genius/Super-Genius (If another Level 3 or 4 stat is chosen with Super-Genius the character falls under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters)
Fighting Skill: Untrained/Trained/Mastered (If another Level 3 or 4 stat is chosen with Mastered the character falls under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters)
Resources: Minimal/Average/Large/Extreme (If another Level 3 or 4 stat is chosen with Extreme the character falls under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters)
NOTE: Even if all attributes chosen are Normal human when Super-Genius, Mastered, and Extreme are chosen for the final three attributes, this player is a level 3 or 4 character, such as Batman.
Weaknesses (If your stats chosen are deemed powerful enough by a Game Master with no weakness, the character will fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters. Even with a weakness, a Game Master may rule it as a Level 3 or 4 character):
Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?):
List a few reasons why you've created that character:
What can you bring to the RPG?:
Do you know how to post pictures here?:
Sample Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue):
Hope that's been helpful.

Thanks Hound, I'm currently in the process of tweaking the sheets slightly, but yeah, they'll pretty much be like that.
And Nightrunner, don't worry about having just started rping, we're an easy lot to get along with and we have alot of fun in this game. In fact, I've been running this game elsewhere for about 3 or 4 years, and I don't think I've ever said somebody can't do something that they wanted to do

Thanks, I think I might get started beforehand. The image of Darkseid made me think youd be stricter.
Nah, not at all. I'm all about having a good time. Darkseid is just one of my all time favorite villains.I'm always willing to work with you to make sure everyone has a blast.
I"m wanting to choose a benevolent Shuma Gorath or Dormammu type, rather than an evil one. That's definitely Cosmic tier right?
Character you have created: Nargoth
Alias: Nargoth
Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not) - Bold Red "Hello Mortal."
Character Alignment: Hero
Identity: Knownish. There's not much reason for people on Earth to know much about him though. Yet.
Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations):
He's regal, imperious and quite bossy. Other than that, he tends to be a sort of creature that loves to give genuine wisdom and advice to others. He tends to ask others to get the job done for him but he likes to make it worth their while. As to his other traits, he has an obsession to bring his message of faith and enlightenment to other worlds. Earth is next.
Uniform/costume: As a Dinosaur like god, he has no costume.
Origin Info/Details:
Born billions of years ago, before Earth's formation, Nargoth was a dinosaur like creature, and a slave, like cattle to more advanced alien species. The Empire who had him a slave was brought to destruction by his revolt, and he became known as a God-Emperor soon after. Eventually, Nargoth took the idea to heart and brought a message of hope to trillions of others in the bondage of the dark empire. Nargoth already had a mystic blood line that manifested it'self during his formative years. Eventually, the worship and belief of so many trillions of beings brought him to a high Cosmic Threshold. He enjoys liberating cultures from evil Empires and establishing his own Empire, however much elevated their standard of living are under his own rule.
When his Empire fights against technologically superior foes, they find it difficult to conquer it, since he mixes their technology with magic.
Hero Type (Select one): Supernatural/Deity
Power Level (Select one below): Cosmic Level
Powers (Be Specific):
Immortality: So many millions of years as a deity have left Nargoth ingrained into the universe as an indispensible Cosmic Force of reality. He does not age, and although he can be defeated and rendered inoperable, he can never die.
In-Born Sorcery: As a Deity, he has immensely strong magical power, able to form spells, and magical effects through his raw sorcerous energy. This has enabled him to disable the energy in entire star fleets of enemies, causing life support to fail if he so chose, the weapons to fail, etcetera. The fleet totalled over one hundred billion personel. After causing the fleet's energy to erode he used his powers to alter the magnetic forces in the area to close in on the fleet, smashing the entire fleet's metal into a tight, singular molecule worth of iron. His other powers tend to deal with fire and other elemental forces. Also, his genius comes from his sorcerous energies. He can understand every spell he is capable of, and that takes supernatural intelligence and comprehension.
In-Born Divinity: His Divinity even has greater power than his Sorcerous energies. He is able to teleport across entire Galaxies and planes of existence within a single second, listen to the silent prayers of his entire empire worth hundreds of quintillions of sapient beings, and raise his power attribute levels if his Empire is at stake. Of course, this has clear limits. He can't increase his power with this Ability if he tries to Conquer and expand his territory, but if he's invaded and his Empire is in clear danger, he can. He is a Deity of Fire and War and thus he has many Divine powers relating to Divinity and War, such as controling Solar energy (Fire) causing Suns to go Supernova, and having his enormously high supernatural strength. He can breath fire, of course, as a dino-saur, and melt through force fields with ease at temperatures hundreds of thousands of times hotter than the surface of the Sun, while managing not to harm anything within the vicinity of the area except for his target.
Durability: He's able to withstand his enormous speed of flight through space and take huge asteroid impacts as if they were soft marshmellows. He's been known to survive being turned into a skeleton, and having black holes collapse with him inside, before he comes out unscathed. Also, spells and magical attacks heal or empower him if they deal with animals, fire or war in anyway.
Attributes (Select one at each category):
Strength Level: 30,000,000 tons
Speed/Reaction Timing Level:
9,300,000,000 miles per second in flight
Ironically, on the ground he's "only"
1,000 MPH
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 5 hours.
Agility: 150X
Intelligence: Super-Genius
Fighting Skill: Mastered
Resources: Extreme
Weaknesses (If your stats chosen are deemed powerful enough by a Game Master with no weakness, the character will fall under rules of Level 3 and 4 characters. Even with a weakness, a Game Master may rule it as a Level 3 or 4 character):
Nargoth's power over his Divinity can decrease if his Empire is depleted, he loses too many wars or his Empire is conquered or destroyed.
Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?):
List a few reasons why you've created that character:
I've seen many Cosmic entities in Marvel that were extremely powerful yet still very meaningful to the story, presented with weaknesses and character that make them memorable and fun to read about. I also thought introducing a benevolent type of Cosmic god with his own flaws would add flavor to the game. Nargoth is also a dinosaur. I thought a very ancient dinosaur deity sounded interesting enough and not often used, so I introduced him into the game.
What can you bring to the RPG?:
Good interactive story-telling.
Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?:
I don't know what a hype board is. :|
Sample Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue):
Dormammu, and Shuma Gorath tore into the Empire of Nargoth's fleets as if the finest legions and knights were nothing but paper and school children with sticks. The laser cannons were fired with the force of billions of tons, yet they bounced off of Dormammu and Shuma Gorath as if they were mosquito bites trying to bite into body armor. "Puny MORTALS!" Dormammu and Shuma both shouted in unison as they contemptously incinerated the star fleet with a wave of their hands, or tentacles.
In came Nargoth, the God-Emperor with fury at what his enemies had done. They had killed millions of soldiers protecting the Empire. The Empire would not stand for this. Nargoth grew into a massive winged, dragon like tyranosaur and breathed super nova at Dormammu and Shuma Gorath, attempting to destroy them, though they laughed. "Ah-hah, you've crossed us for the last time, god-ling. Your puny Empire is at an end." Nargoth noticed Dormammu turning towards the capital with his outstretched hand, and a dark portal opened around the world.
With great rage, Nargoth used the energy of his people into the transformation of a monster as large as the Sun. He smashed into Dormammu several thousand times the speed of light, causing Dormammu to recoil in pain. Suddenly Nargoth's tail lashed out at Shuma Gorath as he began to coil his tentacles at other star ships, Shuma Gorath found himself impaled by the Tyranosaur god's appendage. Once Nargoth released Shuma Gorath he seperated the Elder god's body into different pieces with several strokes of his tail and turned around once again to Dormammu. Dormammu raised his fist to strike but Nargoth was faster. He latched his teeth into the evil god's throat and tore his neck off. Spitting the neck out, Nargoth screamed a victory cry into space for the Empire to hear in their souls. "You have now seen the power of Nargoth, impudent godlings."
