Would anyone be interested in a Wheel of Time roleplay?

I tried a while ago to start a Wheel of Time roleplay but I did not get many interested and those I got fell away from the game rather quickly, so basically I am wondering if there is any interest in a RPG set in this setting? Now what I would like to do is to play a game set 200 years before the start of the books, the reason why I want to set the game then and not in the middle of the action so to speak is to have room to make a story in the RPG and not constantly bump into the plot of the books. 200 years before the start of the books the world of Wheel of Time is reasonably the same as it is at the start of the books, but it give some wriggling room.

I would be interested in starting a RPG that is very true to setting that means that the players would have to at least have some grasp of the Wheel of Time, preferably players should have read at least some of the books but if you have played the D20 RPG game or the video game you should have enough information. I would want characters which would be possible within the setting, extraordinary characters are fine, but they have to be plausible.

I love the Wheel of Time setting and I know the books are popular, so I guess since my last game failed before it really started that I am just testing the waters to see if I can find someone else who is interested in playing in this setting before I start up another interest check. I also am not sure if I want the game to be set in casual or advanced. I definitely want advanced content with well developed characters and eventually deep plots, but as you can see my spelling and grammar is not perfect and I do not want to scare away anyone who want to play but who feel that the technicalities of their writing skills are not up to par, so what do you think, casual or advanced?

If anyone is interested drop me a line in this thread or send me a PM and I will think up a plot for the game and start an interest check. Wheel of Time is a great setting with such dept and detail and I think that it is perfect for roleplaying in due to this detail and richness.

You are lucky then, I know he have been going on some book signing tours, but I live in Norway so that is a bit far for me to go to such an event. Well that is one player, if we can get one or two more I will start up a proper interest check with a game idea and a OOC thread for this game.

Ok so since I have three interested players I have started up and interest check which tell more about what the game will be about and what time period within the setting we will be playing in:

And here is an OOC thread if you want to make a character for the game:

I think most people are intimidated by a Wheel of Time roleplay, since WoT is some seriously high quality writing

That and lately I think people are busy reading A Memory of Light

Possibly, but we are not trying to write a novel here we are trying to have some fun with and RPG and and RPG is not much different if you sit around a table playing than if you use a forum. That being said I think many are intimidated by how huge the WoT setting is and that it really works the best with serious gameplay, it is easier to just join an anime based game, not that I am complaining, I am in a few of those to.

Now if anyone is intimidated by a WoT game do not worry, I have placed this game in casual and I will not bite your heads off if you are not perfect. Yes it will be a serious tone game, but as long as you have some idea of the setting and think it might be fun to play in it you will do fine.

I do think many are reading the last book yes, but I have tried to start a WoT game since long before it came out so I think it is more that people are intimidated by the setting, I tend to not give up though and will keep trying until I get a WoT game up and running on this site.
