Very interested!
Why hello there! I am looking to bring together a group of like (and not like) minded individuals to go on a venture with me through a relatively peaceful fantastical land of magick and hi-jinks! Maybe the part about it being ALL peaceful isn't quite exactly true, but the land I was planning on having our enterprise is in a bit of a lull, as opposed to oppressively evil forces climatically about to clash with shining champions of light! But do not fret war-mongers! Tensions are high, fingers are crossed and weapons stand at the ready to make battle once again!
The land, henceforth to be referred to as The Land (not really) *cough*the realm of Tillgaard*cough*, is divided into several kingdoms of Man. Tillgaard is filled with several fantasy races (no vampires please!), and lots of rulers that need help! On a professional level! What better way to find assistance than spending ridiculous amounts of gold on some very expensive soldiers! Yes, that's right! Mercenaries! I hear the coin purse getting less jingly already.
Players will be taking on the characters of certain mercenaries, who have been brought together by the promise of incredibly exaggerated amounts of cash! The King of one of the Bastions of Man, Bewin, has asked for heroes, warriors and nobles to come to his aid! (Don't worry, it's not to rescue his darling princess who's been kidnapped by costumed elves wearing funny hats!)
The quest involves retrieving something of value in the arid desert to the east. I know what you're thinking! Desert? Sounds boring! Alas, this isn't just any desert full of dearth! This expanse is called the Sands of Lahr, rumored to have house-sized scorpions, dastardly devious bandits and a whole graveyard filled with dragonbones! Doesn't that sound positively precious? The King is bringing in help from outside because he needs to gather his forces to keep vigil on his western front, in fear of neighboring kingdoms, who turn their eyes on his prosperous land.
A simple gather 'n' get job for mercenaries interested in royal gold, it seems like! OR IS IT?
I am posting this in advanced for all the obvious reasons! This roleplay isn't what it seems, a job that looks like it's going to go 'simply' may, in fact, completely change the world(s) as we know it(them)!
Join me! The mundane waits for no one!
Interested indeed.
I haven't had a good-hearted fantasy DnD reminiscent roleplay for a while.
QUESTS! huzzah!
The lovely way the OP is written has grabbed my attention already. It's so nice to see something written in a more flamboyant way than the typical dull, boring 'Here's part of the IC to all the explaning for me' way that we see all too often. Very nice indeed. Count me in!
"And on the pedestal these words appear: 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: look on my works, ye mighty, and despair.'"
Oh my god, am i witnessing a wild Ozy actually applying for a roleplay? :O *takes a photo*
I'd join too, but i fear i'll only cramp your style hun D:
I don't bite...I nibble.
This looks interesting... count me in!

Alright! It seems like I have garnered a quite nice amount of interest for this walk in the woods(sands). Now then, I would like to explain exactly how many people I would like to participate, for social interaction's and roleplay's sake. I have found in my travels that anymore than five to seven people in any given roleplay usually leads to disaster or very long waiting times filled twiddling thumbs or picking noses. We are only human after all.
I will set up a OOC soon (within the day) and type up a character sheet for you all to engage in as we go on our merry way through blinding sun and infrequent oases!
