Well that's less fun for bystanders, but I guess it's better in the grand scheme of things. Also, that reference to a certain player.
I actually do have AIM, my username is JorickRPG on there. Normally I wouldn't throw around my contact stuff in public, but meh, I made it for talking to Guild people anyway so why the fuck not?
There are totally people worth getting a temporary ban over, but not a perma. That's where I draw the line. You would know if you had infraction points, you would've gotten a PM saying you got a warning or a ban, then there would also be a tab you could see in your own profile labeled Infractions listing warnings and bans you've gotten. And I'm totally helpful to new people, I still cruise through the Introduce Yourself section now and again throwing helpful links at people. I also give Spam newbies a non-hostile warning about how to hack it here unless they're being full on retarded, in which case it's on.
Yeah, I think you're right, most people
could fit into Spam. It has a reputation that's worse than the reality, despite people like myself existing. How Spam works is basically.. just a jumble of nonsensical shit, really. You post as you like, just on any other forum. The only possible difference is the xenophobia and ageism (via join date) people have here. Really though, after the initial "omfg who are you?!?!? D:<" period you get along just fine by not being an overwhelmingly annoying douchebag. You can be a douchebag and have people like you (I'm proof), but you have to be entertaining about it for people to accept it. There's really nothing to learn about how Spam works so long as you know how a forum works and you're ready to deal with weirdos and assholes and random silliness.
I've never found another RP site I really liked, so I stopped looking. Also I think I know what those whispers are about, but I'll be quiet.
