Alias:
Juxtapose aka Jux
Age:
16
Gender:
Female
Appearance:

Jux is mostly lean muscle and is relatively short (5'3", 108lbs) with hazel eyes and a fairly innocent demeanor.
She keeps her hair and nails both short for practical and aesthetic purposes.
Mutation and Skills: Molecular manipulation. She can control matter at a molecular level, changing structure, speed, composition, density and mass - if she is familiar with the chemical structures. This makes her able to do...well, basically anything she understands. At the moment she can can mostly only manipulate herself and small objects. She can make herself faster and lighter at will, as well as teleport. As she learns more about biology, she'll be able to heal wounds - or open them. If she loses concentration while toying with an object's molecular structure she can simply destroy it.
Multilingual ( English, Japanese, French, Portuguese, some Russian); knows enough Judo and Aikido to not be useless in a fist fight (is by no means a master and would stand no chance against someone well-versed in hand-to-hand combat); rudimentary survival skills; decent strategist.
Weaknesses: Prone to migraines; doesn't understand how she can't be the best at something right away (lends itself to being a workaholic); has a difficulty relating to other people; searches actively for validation; struggles with morality.
Strengths: Very fast learner, athletic, pushes herself constantly to be the best, able to make quick and difficult decisions quickly.

Personality: Jux is quiet and well reserved, but very opinionated. She gets jealous easily and is quite used to being the center of attention - even if it makes her uncomfortable, it's a familiar uncomfortable. She has difficulty talking to other people and ends up inadvertently stepping on a lot of toes, but she means well. Her ethics are a little askew as her natural curiosity is quite...demanding. She may very well have a variety of personality disorders, but none are extreme enough to warrant concern. Just as well, her powers give her a lot of stress and she is quite intimidated by them.
Bio: Jux was born in the heart of Paris to two ultimately loving, but career and future-focused parents. Her parents met in France, her mother being a local lawyer and her father a frequently travelling businessman. In between commutes, he would return to France and this eventually resulted in their little bundle of Jux. She grew up in a rather nice neighborhood and was quite removed from society, as far as these things go.
Her parents encouraged ( by encouraged I mean forced ) her to learn various languages and self-defense from an early age, beginning with Aikido and French/English. Seemingly, she was a natural and took up all three quite easily. She could read, write and do arithmetic before actually receiving schooling and the rate at which she learned was fascinating. For awhile, they believed her to possess photographic or eidetic memory, but neither thing ended up being true. Simply put...she worked her ass off from a very young age.
This would end up helping and hindering her, as her parents would continually sign her up for any extracurricular thing they thought would benefit her. This ranged from summer camps on top of extra classes in the summer to classical piano and guitar lessons, but her inability to genuinely care about the music she was playing kept her parents from pursuing those beyond a few years each.
As a pre-teen her family moved from France to Japan for a short while, where the lessons changed quite a bit and the classes got more difficult, which she loved immensely. She felt challenged for the first time her in her life, challenged and rewarded. Though...with challenge comes risk as well, one she had no idea was possible at all. She received an average mark and it almost destroyed her, the improbability was ridiculous and she had no idea how she could POSSIBLY let this happen. In her grief, she escaped to the roof of her apartment complex.
Janessa sat with her face buried in her knees, arms wrapped around them. Without realizing it, or caring to look up and witness... she had started changing the molecular structure of the roof around her, turning the roof into a flooded area before too long. Of course she forgot she had even been crying by the time she fully grasped what had happened.
She told her parents who were...confused, then amazed, then extremely supportive as they'd always been. They knew of a school that took in children, gifted children... With a heavy heart her parents both approved of sending their daughter to America, even going so far as to contact them and set up everything. They said their goodbyes with smiles and joyful tears as they watched their 13 year old go off to America...to hone her genetic mutation.
Jux dove right into independent study, taking full advantage of Xavier's impressive library, as well as the limitless and incredible resource known as the internet. Generally only 'relaxing' to play a game of chess in the rec. room, or during her morning meditations. Through a lifetime of discipline, hard work and scheduling she adapted quickly and happily to life in the mansion - even through the difficulties simply being a sentient being, let one being a mutant.
And now she starts the third year of her schooling at the mansion, with a subtle grin and very little tact.
