Kanto: Gym Leader Trials. - Pokemon

At this point in time you are wondering what is going on in the Kanto region, well I'll tell you.

A few of the Kanto Gym leaders are stepping down and are in need of replacement, at a meeting held by the Champion, Ash Ketchum, all decided it was time to hold a contest, to find the 4 next best candidates at becoming the next gym leaders of specific gyms. Choosing 64 of the toughest participants, they are determined to find their next gym leaders.

The leaders and Ash are being hard on the Trainers for a reason, and the 64 who pass are then split up again, this time from 64 to 32 by another wave of tests. This time they're put into double teams and asked to battle on different terrain and take another test but it will be much harder and written rather than multiple choice. And finally they are into 8 teams of 4 people per team. Each team will consist of different people applying for different positions. The small teams are then taken out with a random leader. The leaders will be swapped every two weeks. The leaders will take their team around the region, battling and testing them.

The teams get a collective pass or no pass to help instill unity rather than rivalry among their group. Outside their small group, rivalries occur more than enough. In the group of 4, it's best to help one another and give advice and get to know another, as chances are that, if you work together, you can achieve your goal of becoming a Gym Leader.

When groups have been announced and divided. It is possible for one or two characters to already know each other. During the week of exams, Trainers have stayed on site in a building with apartments right outside the I.P. During the rest of their training, they may return to the I.P but for the most part, everything will be on foot and things will range from helping people around Kanto, to battling, to studying. It all depends on what leader is with your group.

Leaders will be played by me and if you would like control, just send a quick VM. The main points of this roleplay are to develop your character as a trainer and as a person. This roleplay will continue after the main plot line has been finished, Team Rocket has been on the rise and will make their attack right around when teams are formed. In fact, some of the Current Gym Leaders will try to tackle this sudden sighting of evil. It will all unveil itself as we go on.

Any questions can be answered here, so feel free to ask at any time.

You may submit as many CS's as you want within the the 8 types provided. I'd like to have something to pick from.

If I find that people need to edit, I will PM you personally.

I plan on starting the IC ASAP but will allow about 12 hours for any last minute editing.

I need 2 girl characters, and 1 boy character apart from my own.

    RP Rules

    - Post size must consist of 3+ paragraphs with at least 4+ sentences each. I can't stand a bunch of small 1 lined Paragraphs. I will allow 2 Paragraphs for light conversations, other than that, keep it to a High Casual.

    - Post frequency needs to be at least every day, and do not post again until the others are done posting.

    - What I say goes, if I think a Pokémon shouldn't have x-move then you have to take it off. If I think your team or your trainer is too strong, I will say so and look for a candidate to replace you if you don't change it. I want to be as fair as possible, and don't want any super over powered players.

    PKM Rules

    - No Honen/Sinnoh/Unova Pokémon.

    - No Pokémon over level 40. With that being said, don't show me all level 39s. Please make the levels vary a bit.

    - The types to choose from are: Rock, Water, Electric, Grass, Poison, Psychic, Fire and Ground. You may have 1-2 Pokémon with a double type as some are hard to find.

    - Speaking of which, if I feel your choice in a Pokémon is unfair like Kabuto, I will ask you to find another. The same goes for your moves. TMs will be allowed in moderation. Some moves like Surf and Fly can work without using a slot.

    - Nicknames are fine as long as you are clear about who is who when posting. It's just annoying to keep looking back on a CS for help.

    - Pokémon you should avoid are legendaries, rare Pokémon or extinct ones, and ditto.

    - Any other Qs regarding PKM can be asked here.

    CS Rules

    - Characters may not know/be related to a leader or notable canon character.

    - Characters must be from ages 21-31. I'm looking for one male and two females preferred.

    - Characters must not be too cliche. They can happen and likely will but don't make up something that's gonna make your character cause story progression to halt.

    - Characters must be from Kanto but are allowed Pokémon and badges from Johto

    - Characters can have badges, but do not need them. They should have maybe no more than 4.

    General Setting and Contests Explained

As a Trainer, you will travel from your hometown or wherever you are, to the Indigo Plateau. Travel by foot or air, as long as you get there by the time I wish to start. The Preliminary Exams will take arrow down all mass of Trainers down to 64. To apply for the Gym Leader Contest, Trainers had to fill out this Form:

Once Trainers had filled it out, they would be given an invitation to come to the Indigo Plateau. Once there, they would be given a series of tests and evaluations. Such as...

    - Being interviewed by Ash and two random leaders.

    - Battling against their desired Gym and then against two more.

    - Passing a written test about the care of Pokémon, the region and history of Kanto, and how different types would fare against other in battle, among other topics.

At any rate, I can't wait to see what people come up with. I will not be posting my CS until afterwards. It will most likely be water or electric. I cannot say for sure, so submit everything ya got. Keep everything fair and we'll have some great fun while exploring every inch of Kanto, while battling, helping people and just being kickass Trainers. Romance, drama and the like are always encouraged. Phew that was a lot to write! -drinks a hyper potion- Let the CS submission commence!

That is hilariously amazing, but no, Ash has finally hit puberty and is now the best there ever was. He's 32 now.

    First Name: Cosette "Seth"

    Last Name: Parker

    Gender: Female

    Age: 22

    Appearance:

Seth has a pretty average build, her curves are nothing to brag about and her chest isn't as big as she wants it to be. She has a fair complexion despite the conditions of her training - she does take great care of her skin, after all. Her hair, as she constantly corrects people, is silver and not white. She prefers keeping it down, but she always ties it up during training since it keeps getting in the way. Her eyes, as she constantly corrects people (again), are naturally gray and that she is not blind. Recessive genes spare no one.

She doesn't particularly like bright colors, so she sticks with wearing clothes of the color black, white and every shade inbetween. Leather and fur are her favorite textures. She only has one pair of black boots and she wears it on almost every occasion. Her clothes have often mistaken her for a biker girl, but the lack of chains, metal and... well, an actual bike prove otherwise. She prefers to look as feminine as possible, so she usually sticks with dresses and skirts.

Gym Desired: Viridian Gym - Ground - Viridian City

    Hometown: Saffron City

Personality: Clever, cunning, determined, industrious, short-tempered, and narcissistic.

Background: Seth's parents were avid Pokemon lovers. Her mother was an active member of the Pokemon fan club and her father was a trainer that was able to get five badges before having to settle down because of the family. Despite how her mom wished to raise her as a lady, her father thought otherwise. She spent her childhood under his care, constantly training and learning about Pokemon battling. She was to be his successor, the one to beat him once he becomes the Pokemon Champion. She was praised for winning and punished for losing. She was raised to learn that winning was what's most important - never settle for anything less. She constantly challenged the Fighting Dojo, lingered around the city gates to chance upon strong trainers and even traveled to Johto for more battles. She was far more experienced and skilled than most of her peers and thus, victory came easy. She kept on winning and it all went to her head. She was proud and her father told her she would be the best. She loved her father, and her father loved it when she won. While she did suffer the occasional loss, she would usually shrug it off and come up with a reason in her head that explained it. If she had just done so and so then she could've won. It was immature, but she could never really believe that she actually, truly lost. Unfortunately though, after every defeat, her training with her Pokemon doubled in intensity. She loved her Pokemon, she did. But they were sometimes scared of her when she was in one of her bitter moods.

When Seth reached eighteen and was ready to set off on her own Pokemon adventure to battle gym leaders, her father accompanied her to the gates. Now that she was ready, he too was ready to go and finish his badge collecting. They had separated, her mother staying in Saffron City, her father went to the East, and Seth to the West. Before she could even win her first badge though, she had received a call from her mother. Daddy dearest had managed to gain two badges, making his set a total of seven badges. But he had lost to the gym leader in Viridian City in a one-sided battle. Dejected, he returned home. He told her to continue earning badges for him, to become the champion for him.

Seth snapped. He was her father, the one who taught her everything she knew about battling. And he was giving up?! Just like that?! He had told her winning was everything, but now he was acting like a complete sore loser. Seth was a proud woman, and she would not settle to have a loser for a father. Against everyone's advice and her own judgement, she headed straight to Viridian City to battle the gym leader. While the types of their Pokemon were similar, his were far, far more strong. She too had lost quickly. She continued on with her adventure around Kanto, but made sure to return to the Viridian gym every year to challenge the leader. She had yet to win, but she did not give up. She swore that if she were to win a badge, her first would be the Earth badge.

Years passed and word got around on the Gym Leader Trials. The first thing that set into her mind was panic. Seth had yet to defeat the scumbag and now he planned on quitting? She quickly partook in the competition, knowing it would be her last chance to beat him as a gym leader. She cared little for the actual position of gym leader, but she would not settle for losing in this contest either.

Items in Pack: Basic trainer items - like HP/PP restores, status cures, and Pokeballs. Her pass for the Magnet Train, Trainer card, Coin Case, and other items for her basic necessities.

    Pokémon in Possession

    Pupitar- 38 - Male

    Piloswine- 33 - Female

    Nidoqueen- 30 - Female

    Cubone - 27 - Male

Made her background more detailed, not sure if it got better or worse though XD. And I'm guessing that the Viridian Gym Leader is Blue, right? Not Giovanni?
And might I suggest posting a thread on the Interest Check? You never know who might chance upon it there and not here.

Edit: GAH Of course its Blue, we gots a Magnet Train and everything.
Edit2: Wait, since Ash is the Champion, that means this is animeverse... Does Blue even exist in the anime? Is the gym leader Gary or something?
... I don't know anymore~ (I'm updated with the manga and game, but gave up on the anime a long while ago D: )

If there is blue/green/gary. I must have! Ha sorry i love green/blue.
Hmmm this is going to be tough, just a question. Do we have to use the type the previous leader uses for their gym? Or do we jsut have to follow our own theme? Or can we have a random collaboration of pokemon on our team.

If we ave to use the same type as the gym leader, Im taking over for Koga, haha POISON POKEMON!!
