An Historical, Semi-Historical, or Alt. History RPG Interest Check

I'm a big time history buff, and I wouldn't mind trying to get an RPG going that's based in history. I don't really have any fine details yet, just broad ideas. I do know if I try to do anything based in history, I would like it to take place in one of my favorite time periods. Those would be: Rome, anytime from the start of the Punic Wars up until the end of the Roman Republic, Briton after the collapse of the Roman Empire, the American Revolution, Napoleon's rise and fall, and then his second rise and fall, the Wild West, and WW2.

Now, with those I would like to keep with what history says, for the most part. There'd be room for dramatic interpretation, but as long as events play out like they should. As far as alt-history, I would be open to whatever. Hannibal manage to destroy Rome and alter civilization as we know it? Cool. Soviets won the Cold War? Awesome! Aliens landed at Waterloo and helped Napoleon out? Right the fuck on! I'm literally down for whatever most people would want to do when it comes to alt. history.

So, yeah, this interest check is more of a discussion and see who's interested in one of the ideas, who has some ideas of their own, and what they want to do.

Why do you hate 'Murica, Byrd?

Me? I'm very interested, some time periods I'd struggle a lot more to find an "in" than others, though.

Well, which periods of history are your favorites that I didn't list?

I'd probably add WWI and alternate Renaissance to that, maybe at the expense of Briton post-Roman Empire.

I'm assuming your numerous Roman suggestions aren't limited to just internal Roman characters, but also to those areas in conflict/under their dominion? Like being open to playing a Germanic barbarian, Egyptian, Briton who's watching the Roman Empire sweep through Gaul? Stuff like that?

Exactly. There were a lot of awesome places and events that took place outside of Rome during that area. I just mean it as a broad term of the Roman Republic's conquer of the then known world.

I'd want Britain to be lead by a Dynasty from King Arthur's line at one point.

How about "Japan won in the Pacific"? That would be an interesting one for a darker setting.

    それから私は、おそらく学校で日本語の授業で、より多くの注意を払っていると思います

    * Then I'd probably have paid a lot more attention in Japanese class at school...

    Hahaha XD

But are you up for the idea? Just wondering because I could make a convincing setting as I've studied Japan's "Imperial Eras" extensively.

I do find the idea intriguing of a alternate post WW2 where the Axis countries were able to sue for peace and keep territories they captured in the war.
