Hello.
I'm Select. I'm quite a shy person and not very good with social mediums. I write a lot, and I figured I'd work on my problems by trying this "roleplaying" thing.

Okey, I have a question: how does roleplaying on an Internet forum work?
In one of two ways:
1. Forum posts. Kind of how we're posting now, except we would be using out character's actions and dialogue to create the posts.
2. Via PM. You would post the same way, but would use private messages instead of threads.
Once you start and Interest check and people become interested, they can also help you with working out how to RP. Everyone is different in how they RP, so just remember that, too.
Hope that helped!![]()

Welcome to the Guild, Select! I always recommend new people start by checking out the guide here, it fills you in on how things are done around these parts. If you have any questions there is a thread here specifically for them, also feel free to PM me if you require any assistance with anything. As for how it is done, if you think of it like collaborative storytelling it might be easier to picture. Usually there is a GM (game master) and they are in charge of the plot and world and NPC's (non player characters) the rest of the people are PC's (player characters) and each person generally controls one and tells their part of the story from that character's point of view. The players bounce off of each other and the GM subtly directs it all. It is lots of fun. As you've seen this place has many friendly people so don't be shy. Happy RPing!
