I'm looking for some small amount of role playing. I did a little back in highschool, and miss it, but the website i played on is a bit ... let's just say I've outgrown it.

So any tips or whatnot to a re-emerging rper will be appreciated!

...Unofficially at the moment, but I've got it on good authority that a Ugandan prince has an awful lot of money he wants to give me to fund my revolution. So there's irons in the fire!

From what I've seen we're a friendly bunch here. So don't worry. And if you want to, I'm happy to RP with you to help you get back into the swing of things - I'm looking for some 1x1 RPs at the moment anyway.

*cough* So, i've been lurking around, looking through rules and guides, and feel pretty confident that I'll enjoy myself here. Seems fairly laid back and very tao of Fonz. Which is always nice. :3

I suppose I should admit some things, though;
I'm not always grammatically correct, but I do it on purpose. Its never big things. I type fast and I'm dyslexic, and those two things dont always mix. I have more or less memorized where my fingers go, and sometimes my brain goes 'wth'.
I prefer not to capitalize alot (only OOC) and I prefer to spell certain words wrong for ease. Like sammich and prolly.

Phew, glad those are off my chest.

So, how does one jump into a role play? I've had a character for years, do I use her or are there pre-mades?

Depends on the group, I guess. The way I started was just by making an RP and seeing who signed up for it.

As for a premade character... depends, again, on the group and the RP. If you've got a concept for a lovely highschool girl with an interest in art and biology, that's great - but it won't necessarily fit with a High Fantasy landscape. xD

*Generally* speaking, you submit a character sheet on an interest check thread, according to how the person running the RP has asked.

(And don't worry about grammar and such. As long as it doesn't get in the way I'm sure no-one will mind. Sometimes writing as you speak, though incorrect, makes things easier to understand anyway. xD)

First off, welcome to the Guild! We hope you enjoy your time here, plenty to do for sure. As for the roleplays, Nat covered it pretty well. It all depends on your interests and how much you like to write. If it's a few lines per post I would reccomend Free, a paragraph or so Casual and multiple paragraphs should look into Advanced. One good way to improve your writing, personally I found, is to do a 1x1 with a few folks, get a sense for how your writing is. Hope you find a good one!

Thanks! Gawd, I haven't done 1x1 in forever! ....ok, i haven't done ANY rping in forever. >< either way, i'll be rusty. it is a good idea though, i know i need the practice.
