Personality: Enjoys a good laugh, to keep morale high, compassionate to those who mean him harm, Can at times be aggressive if provoked.

Back Story: Markus was born into a family of mages. His parents were both renowned for their advancements in medical magics, and his brother, Rei, was a captain in the local nation's military. Markus learned from a young age that his gift was unique, even to the standards of magic. He couldn't find for himself a good teacher, who had this same ability.

(Side note: He was infact enrolled in another tower at this time.)

Markus was considered less special, and more of a freak in his local town. People would constantly nag him for not being able to control his power well, and many would attack him at random, trying to prove their better.

In one of these attacks, Markus struck back in anger, and killed the man with a crystal bolt, stabbing his heart on the end of it. His father was furious, and actually brought his own son to court. Markus was tried for man slaughter, and a year in prison if the fine wasn't paid.

Markus, unable to pay the few of 100 gold, and his family refusing to help him, ran off to a whole new continent, where he enrolled in this tower school, to learn to control his power.

Personality: Shy, protective of those she cares about, doesnt talk much, generally keeps to herself.
Back Story: She didnt know who her father was, having left before she was born. Her mother doesnt talk about him and Lyra doesnt ask, not able to stand the sorrow that appears in her mothers eyes when he is mentioned. When she was ten, her mother passed away of an unknown illness. She was sent to an orphanage where she was bullied for being different; thats how she is fast and can climb, because she had to escape the bullies. She didnt even know she had any sort of powers until one day, a boy was messing with her, calling her names and pulling her hair. It made her so mad that the wind answered to her emotions and blew the boy several feet away where he slammed into a tree and broke his arm. She was immediately shipped off to the Tower.
Skills before entering the tower: She can climb well, is light on her feet and very agile.
