Spam's Play: Dwarf Fortress? Gnomoria! Spamogoria!?

So it is with great whining and bitching we arrive in Spamgoria, deep in Gilderlands , for now it is just a pack horse, a mule, and a dream, but with much work and a bit of hope we may be able to make it something great but first I must take stock on who I have brought with me.



Werter, an inventor of sorts, until we have a use for him he will be building our workshops and hauling wood and various items from pile to pile



Koka, who will be captain of our military and standing guard, he will be spending his off time cutting wood so that the fortress may grow!



Ace, a gnome after my own heart, will be in charge of collecting the strawberries and wheat we need to dine on booze! Probably the most important gnome class in our kingdom!



Ruby is a miner, we need the likes of her to make our fortress grow large, and our fortress grow strong. I will record the rest for prosperity

I order for the collecting of food and falling of trees and smile to myself as my Gonmish kin carry out the deeds, I order another to get started with the mining of our halls, and the rest to use logs to get an outer perimitter up to protect ourselves from the dangers of the land. Stairs into the depth of the earth are built, then I set up areas for our wood, stone, cloth, and dining rooms. Another level down, I place orders to dig out private rooms for each gnome and future gnome’s to come

Our miners have hit Coal, and we have found marble under our home. This is great news and the worth of our hall will be so much Gnomads from all around will come to bask in our glory. The coal will help when we attempt to get a metal industry up and running, and start to smelt bronze armor and weapons for our gnomes.



Our Saw mill, and our Stone Cutter is up and running, now we may refine blocks and build planks, the building blocks for all gnome buildings.



It is only the second day of spring and we have achieved so much. A small pasture is built within our walls, and so is a farm. Marble doors are being crafted to keep out invaders, and a trader from the outer lands will be arriving tomorrow! Finally we can unload much of our wares and by better tools and weapons for our soldiers.



A copper ore vein has been spotted! This means we can start to produce weapons and armor. As royal decree, all gnomes must be equipped in full battle armor with at least one axe, pick, or sword (depending on their profession.)



This will make that much easier for us to follow that mandate. The local militia is split up into squads. Koka leads The Whispering Vultures of Letter. (I have no clue either.) While Sophistikit leads The Scorpionkillers.





The merchant has arrived, we barely got the stall up as he was pulling in.



The wheat farm is coming along nicely and soon we will have bread and beer, the staples of any growing Gnome’s diet. We give this man all of our dirt and clay, we have nothing to trade with him as of yet, but getting all this crap out of our fortress will only help us in the long run. The gnomes are unhappy with me, it has been a week and I have only ordered now the building of beds. Well you ungrateful bastards, if you worked a bit faster you wouldn’t be sleepin’ on the floor. GET BACK TO WORK!

Noxious found a Monitor Lizard, surely a scout for the goblin menace, without any armor, or the pick two feet away from her she goes to engage.

Oh by the 9, none of them are carrying weapons. They are going to get killed, I watch hesitantly, ready to lockdown the fortress if things get out of hand.
