Posts coming soon. Hopefully I'll have at least one up tonight
Blaze, hopefully I should finish writing the battle conclusion post soon. I don't know what, if any, plans you had for your first post but would it be okay if, at the end of the battle, Talon contacts the Grand Admiral to update him on the situation and consult with him about the next move?
Hey guys, had some personal issues come up. I'll have a post up in the next day or so
Um. What happened to Sloth? My character's continuation in the game is dependent upon his characters arriving at the scene. He hasn't posted in five days, but he's online. I'm going to make another post, but there's not much I can really do besides wait.
I'd shoot him a PM if you wanted. Not saying that this is what's going on with him, but if we did have a player drop out and another player was waiting on that player's character, we'd figure something out to rectify things.
I should have some posts up over the next couple of days. Tonight is most likely out due to having a couple of big tests tomorrow...

Star Wars: Dawn of the New Republic Character Application
Screen Name: Spartan
Character you wish to play: Atin Cade
Born in the bowels of the Coruscant Underlevels, the early years of his life were spent in running away from one threat or another, his elder sister taking care of him after his mother abandoned the two of them and it was his sister who gave him the name Cade. From his sister he learnt how to hunt for food and how to survive in the Coruscant undercity. The two of them were scavengers, hunting in the vast piles of junk that littered the lowermost levels of the planet and would spend their days searching for any hidden treasure that they could sell to buy their next meal. When they could not find anything of value, a not so uncommon occurrence, they would steal or go to sleep on an empty stomach. Many a night was spent hiding from those they had stolen from or attempted to steal from, but they always managed to slip away, and they were only ever caught once, the day the men in robes came, the day his sister died.
Cades memories of the day are not very clear. He had not eaten anything for almost two days, his sister longer, but she was older than him, stronger. He remembered her telling him to wait for her as she went to find something for them to eat, and the next thing he remembered was her lying in on the ground, a half rotten bun in her hand and a blaster wound in her stomach, as the Jedi pulled him away from her. His words, ringing in Cades ears, "Maybe the Force did not want me to save her, but you I can still save" are still clear to him, no matter what else he might have forgotten.
The robed man took Cade back to his home, where he was cleaned, healed and given a full meal, and found that the boy had potential with the Force. But as soon as he was able to he fled from the house, scared of and furious with the man, somehow holding him responsible for the death of his sister. He tried to return to his old life, though having to work alone meant that more often then not he went hungry and had to steal to put food into his stomach. Ultimately he was found by the robed stranger once more who tried to explain his connection to the Jedi, but agin, fearfuland angry, Cade ran away. It was at this time that he was found by a former trooper turned Bounty Hunter by the name of Kator Ne Dago. The old man, seeing the boy flee from the Jedi, and holding a grudge of his own against the Jedi, helped him hide. Kator asked him why the Jedi were hunting him but Cade refused to speak, even threatening to hand him over to the Jedi only resulted in Cade trying to run away from him. Ultimately Kator did get the truth out of Cade and realized that the boy must be Force sensitive for the Jedi to search for him so fervently. Kind man as he was, Kator promised to take him away from the Jedi and adopted him as his own son, giving him the name Atin, due to his stubborn nature.
Kator raised Atin, teaching him the ways of the world, keeping the fact that he was Force sensitive hidden from everyone, even Atin himself. Atin himself developed a great dislike for anything to do with the Force. Though he no fear of the Jedi, he did not trust them and kept his distance. His own Force sensitivity, untrained and lying more or less dormant within him displays itself in the form of a heightened sense of luck that ever so often turns events in his favor. But he is a skilled fighter and adept with a variety of weaponry these small acts of luck are rarely responsible for him coming out of a fight with his head on his shoulders.
Character Class (choose one): Bounty Hunter / Scoundrel
What Font and Color will you be using for your character's speech: Arial, Royal Blue
Items: DC-15s Blaster. Utility belt. Datapad. Combat Knife. Dynamic Class Light Freighter. Refitted with updated, ugraded and newer parts. Heavy Dual laser cannons both port and aft. Class 3 hyperdrive. R4-D4 Astromech Droid - Deefur
Character Personality: As his name suggests Atin is a very stubborn and headstrong individual. While he is open to listening to suggestions from others, actually acting on those suggestions is another matter as he makes every decision on his own terms and once his mind has been made up almost nothing can sway him from his path. He is capable of taking almost anything into his stride and will push on until he has completed the task at hand. He puts a great deal of measure in duty and honour. He is also a gambler and a risk taker and most often his luck allows him to come out on top in any bet. He is very distrustful of anything to do with the Force and will refuse any association with a force-sensitive, with only his sense of duty or an incredibly large pile of credits overcoming his wariness of Force users.
Character Alignment: Good
Sample Post (write a sample post that is at least 4 paragraphs long and containing at least 3 lines of dialogue):
"So where are we going to find him?"
The wind picked up, swirling clouds of dust around the feet of the two men as they stepped off the ramp of the Osprey. Atin wrapped his cloak tightly around himself and glanced in both directions.
"There's a bar west of here. They call it the Blue Mynock. It's where the Houk and his kind usually spend their time".
Kator nodded and pulled a large coat over his massive frame and clipped a blaster to his belt. "Sounds as good a place as any to start boy".
Atin grunted a reply and set off. The town was a mix of small duracrete buildings erected over the past few hundred years. Despite the generation of new buildings though, there were still plenty of more traditional huts and shacks dotted around. For Atin the place had not changed at all in the years since he had first boarded the Osprey. Familiar signs and faces brought old memories flooding back for the young Human.
"Interesting town this one" The old Soldier said, his eyes scanning the hustle and bustle of the market.
"Yeah. It's as though I never even left" Atin responded, pushing past an elder woman busy haggling at a street stand.
Taking a left and then a right the throng of people in the market became thicker. Atin pushed his way past them and dipped down between two small buildings. "It's just down here Tarv".
The alleyway opened out onto a small back street housing a few smaller buildings. In the centre of these stood one taller than the rest. A neon sign hung up on the outside declared it the Blue Mynock. Atin and Kator made their way across the windswept road and ducked inside.
The building itself stank of sweat and alcohol. Dimly lit and oppressively humid, the Mynock looked to be about a third full. At the centre of the room a bar swept around in a full circle. Two doors led off the main room, one of them guarded by a gruff looking Bothan. Behind the bar, a TDL-501 service droid and a gangly looking Human with an eye-patch were busying themselves with menial tasks.
Kator stepped to Atins shoulder and looked around. "Can't see a Houk lad. A few of your kind, them Weequays, some humans and that Rodian fella over in the corner, but definitely no Houk".
Atin said nothing and moved across the room to the bar. The Human stepped forward wiping a glass with a dirty rag. "Welcome to th' Mynock friends. Names' Patch on account 'er my eye! What can I get you lads?"
"We're looking for someone" Atin said, his eyes hard on the gangly looking bartender.
Kator rested a shoulder on Atins shoulder. A silent message of calm that'd he'd used for many years. "The boy is right" he said jovially "but we'll take two spikes of your finest Pulkay if you please".
Patch grinned, his yellow teeth showing behind his stubble covered face. "TeeDee!" he called to the service droid" "Two Pulkays if yer would!"
As TeeDee busied herself Patch turned back and after eyeing Atins hard demeanor he focused on the old Soldier. "Don't see many of your kind round these parts big fella but we get all kinds coming through here. Who is it yer lookin' for?"
"A Houk by the name of Harrar K'Null" Atin interjected.
Patchs face turned pale and he swallowed hard at the mention of the name, his one eyes flicking involutarily at the Bothan guarding one of the doors off to the far side of the building. "And are you a friend of his?" Patch asked.
"We don't even know the man" Kator said. "We're just after some information and was hoping he'd be the man to help us".
TeeDee approached the trio and set down two small cups, both of them filled with Pulkay. Atin grasped his drink and downed it. "You know where we can find him?" he asked the bartender.
Again his good eye flicked across the room. "I'm not entirely sure to be honest" Patch said.
Kator nodded and drained his cup. "Ah well, thanks anyway". Moving away from the bar, he placed a hand on Atins shoulder. "Come on lad, we'll have to look elsewhere".
Atin eyed the bartender and turned to face the Bothan across the room. "Wait a minute Tarv" he growled as he moved across the bar. The Bothan thumbed the blaster at his waist but Atin didn't break his stride, approaching with cold intent in his eyes. A numb tingling touched the back of Atins mind but he ignored it, his thoughts focused on the guarded door.
"You can't come this way" the Bothan growled, his fangs glistening as he spoke.
Atin said nothing and went to march past the guard. The Bothan grasped at him and Atin spun, connecting with a right hook straight into the muzzle of the guard, The Bothan staggered back and drew his blaster with a snarl. As he rasied it though, two huge black arms circled him and lifted him off of his feet crushing him in a huge bearhug "No need for that now is there?" Kator said jovially to the Bothan as he crushed the wind out of him.
The general noise in the bar died down as the patrons noticed the ruckus, a few of them getting up and making to hastily leave. Atin drew his blaster and kicked open the door to the back room of the Mynock...
Do you know how to post pictures on the RPG Boards:
Just threw up a post, shortish and not my finest work by any means, but it frees Talon up. He can take part in pretty much anything and there is nothing to say his call to the Admiralty will be accepted or work. If, for whatever reason, Talon doesn’t get to do anything for a while may I write a news broadcast reporting on the recent battle, just for fun? Something largely impartial with a slight pro Republic bent as if broadcast on Republic networks and light on detail, after all the media won’t get all the facts.
