Judging from your post, I'm assuming I get to choose the scenario. Well, what if our characters were actually characters drawn onto card stock paper and sold to children for entertainment? The setting would be over a large wooden plain. Characters should be powered, but only to a certain extent. According to this, tier 5. No limits on aesthetic.

It's okay, I'm a bit busy at work to come with a character any time soon, so we probably won't start until Friday, Saturday, or Sunday when I have a little more time.

Grim, as he likes to be called, shaves his head completely bald as to avoid complications while wearing his uniform. While his hair is grown out, however, it takes on a blonde color. His face is obviously masculine with an angular jawline, and a defined single chin. His eyes are a blue color topped with double eyelids and short eye lashes. His thick eye brows seem golden against Grim's pale white skin. His build is firm and muscular, with an obvious set of abs. Over the coarse of battle, Grim has acquired several scars, most notably two at the side of his hip under his rib cage, and one going diagonally down his right cheek.
Grim is a master of close quarters combat, preferring the use of the sword. Although he is more often seen with a long sword strapped to his back, Grim is much more fond of his two reverse blade katana, which he reverse wields.
