I understand that, but my point is, since they were drawn white, shouldn't they have white skin? Darker-skinned characters like the trolls have darker-colored skin. The humans don't. They're white.
Besides, keep in mind the reason they were drawn pure white was probably because, in the beginning of Homestuck (like Act 1 and parts of 2), there was hardly any color to begin with. For once I don't think there was any sort of "deeper meaning" behind something Hussie did. It was just... a color scheme. That's it.
I know it's been around forever. ([S] YOU THERE. BOY or something similar) I meant when it first became a canon thing and the whole site went Trickster. That's part of why I thought it was so funny, actually, since I'd seen it before in the Easter Eggs.
But making it canon and part of the plot? That's definitely new.
That still doesn't mean Hussie can't make his characters whatever ethnicity he wants.
It also doesn't stop them from making fan art, even if it's clearly stated that it's not canon. Doesn't have to be canon to be in the art.
I can't believe they actually drove him to change it.
It would make me sad if the dude didn't have literally a million dollars to do whatever the fuck he wants with.
