    The Night Previous
Gracious, what should I pack? Thought Issac as he piled miscellaneous objects into his suitcase. He had recieved Nikita's message a few hours prior and, after much deliberating, replied with his RSVP.

Sure, Nikita. I'd love to come. What with train schedules and all, I should get there early tomorrow morning. See you there!

His sister, Sarah, would be at debate camp for the duration of the summer, and staying at home would only provide agitation for Issac's mother. Thus, despite his timidness, he agreed to go on a summer-long vacation at a cabin in the middle of the woods.
It almost sounded like the plot of a bad horror movie.
Do I really want to bring Dante's Inferno? It's summer, after all. Who reads classic novels during the summer?
He did, apparently, as he tossed the book into the small, dark green suitcase in a non-chalant fashion.
He was, in fact, rather nervous about spending summer with people he hardly knew. Thankfully, Nikita (and, he assumed, Alice, whom he knew through Nikita.) would be present. Still, he was accoustomed to spending summer at home, so it was all a new experience for him.
After about one half-hour, Issac was finished packing. He turned in early, being as the next train to "Greyhaven" was set to leave tomorrow at, as Sarah liked to say, "O'-Dark Thirty."
He fell asleep, waiting for the next day to start.

Alicen sighed, entering her bedroom and shutting the door. She flopped across her bed, sighing once more. Not really having any friends or people to hang out with got lonely very quickly. She groaned, throwing her arm over her eyes. Summer's gonna be so boring without anything to do. I wish something intersting would happen. As if answering her pray, her laptop beeped from her desk, signaling that she got a new message. She sat up, frowning. Who would email her? She struggled to come up with something and just shrugged, standing up and walking over when she came up blank. She sat down in the chair, flipping open the top. The screen brightened and she clicked on the little envelope icon that had popped up in the corner of her screen. The message popped up and her eyes widened as she read. That was nice of Nikita. She thought to herself, a small smile on her face. She tapped a finger on the desk, biting her lip. She really did want to go but she wasnt sure if her mother would let her. Only one way to find out. She hopped up and darted out her door, calling her mothers name.

    -----
Alicen came back with a huge smile on her face and did a little happy dance right there in the middle of her bedroom. After much begging and pleading her mother finally said yes. Alicen sat back down and typed a quick reply to Nikita.

Hey, thanks for inviting me! My mom said yes so i'll probably be there sometime in the late morning or early afternoon. See you tomorrow!
She hit send then sprang towards her closet, pulling out her duffle bag. She gazed thoughtfully at her clothes, wondering what she should pack. She did a mental shrug and started pulling shirts and stuff off the hanger, folding them neatly and placing them in the bag. She grinned again, really not able to believe her luck. She hummed a tune under her breath as she continued packing.

---"Time is out of joint, O'cursed spite...." These words rang out in her mind as she stirred, fur standing up a bit as the fox shook herself free from the shackles of unconsciousness. There was a subtle glow about this creature, however it cast no real light, only the illusion that there would be light. Eyes opening slowly she takes note of the two figures near by, and quickly trains her vision away from them, she felt it would be incredibly rude of her to get to know their faces while they slept for sleep was a sacred thing, and a symbol of trust in your surroundings. The creature dropped from the couch, moving haphazardly round the male guest (whom she did not remember inviting)'s legs and into the center of the room where, mid step, her form turned toward the human visage, and in the pale light of the newly risen sun, Rachel stretched out a silent yawn with her arms in the air.
---The sun had crept its way over the hilltops and valleys of the world, light caressing in order every nook and cranny it could from its throne reach. A ray of tenderness softer than the finest silk found its way over the horizon, over the vast lake and through the trees into this cabins windows... there was a little miracle in it, and yet, it was to be expected, for such fantastic things happened all the time. Rachel opened her eyes fully now, her eyelids making one last flutter in an attempt to block out the foreign light source before her gentle eyes had a chance to adjust. Soundlessly she took steps through the ray-strewn room unto the dinning room floor and round about to the kitchen. From here, she quietly set to work and within the hour or less a smell of assorted morning pleasantries wafted through the cabin, that of eggs and toast with Jam in any of its fashions. She had settled upon scrambling the eggs, as it did suit her needs and was simple enough to divide between three people including herself. With this she snapped her fingers and began to hum as the her laptop responded, it's designated PLAY key shifting inward, quiet music began to play * and she sung along whilst dancing in place, a spoon as a microphone at times. Rachel could not leave well enough alone and took to frying a small section of bacon for the party as well, the very best for her first guests.

The smell of bacon infiltrated Evelyn's nostrils, waking her from her sleep. "Oh shit." she panicked as her eyes went from drowsy to wide awake. She had fallen asleep on the first day there. 'What a party pooper I am', she thought to herself stretching her stubby legs and arms out. Her eyes caught hold of Alex in the chair across from her. Grinning to herself, she really was happy he came along after all. A wift of bacon and eggs swept by the living room again as Evelyn stood up from the chair quietly. Walking towards the kitchen as quiet as a mouse, she softly leaned against the door frame watching Rachel flip over a slice of bacon.

Evelyn did what she did best and broke the silence, "You never told me you were a chef!" she exclaimed, giggling softly. Evelyn would admit, she was quite nervous to be meeting Rachel, as they had only ever exchanged communication via online. "It smells delicious though Rae, truly." she smiled reassuringly as she continued to watch her cook.

Alex was lying atop a raft drifting down a lush river, just letting the current take him where ever it may. He stared up at the sky, not a cloud in the sky. It was the kind of peaceful day he'd been wishing for for a long time. The sun was a bit too hot though, he had to admit. He reached over to splash water on his face but got nothing but a handful of dry sand. The riverbed had dried up he realized looking about at his completely new surroundings, not a single drop of water in sight. Furthermore all the trees and plants had shriveled up into tiny husks of their former majestic selves. Of course it couldn't stay a nice dream for long he thought. Then he smelled something burning. No it wasn't really burning, it was more cooking. Was that... bacon?

The first thing Alex noticed when he awoke was the smell of bacon, making his stomach growl, he hadn't had bacon since his mom decided to go on a diet a year ago. The second thing he noticed that his head was resting in his lap, atop his book. I should have just slept on the floor he thought as he tried to stand, and he realized just how stiff he was from sleeping that way when he fell back down into the chair. He gave it another try this time managing to get onto his feet. He noticed Evelyn was standing in the doorway to what he assumed was a kitchen, saying, or more likely shouting, something. He couldn't really couldn't make it out with his brain still mostly asleep. Leaning on his umbrella he hobbled his way to stand behind her and peeked into the kitchen.

---Rachel blinked and turned with a light gasp, as it did escape her lips she began to smile softly. "I thought it might be you first to arrive." At that Rachel chuckled a bit, and snapped her fingers twice over, the stove clicked off and the play button twitched over to pause for the time being, cutting Elton John off midverse, but she was sure he'd understand. Moving toward them and smiled as she raised her arms in a sort of shrug. "Breakfast?"
---Stepping forward towards the two, she first hugged Evelyn lightly and then stepped back to examine her appearance for a moment. "I..." she struggled to get her thoughts out, in any coherent form, and finally decided to simply squeel in a very over-dramatic way and hug Evelyn again however this time twice as exuberantly. "I'm so glad you're finally here," As she backed away again Rachel turned towards the indirectly invited guest as they entered the room and tilted her head,"and who are yo... LUDVIG!?"

Evelyn returned the smile as looked down at the food Rachel had prepared for them, "Uh..YES!" she declared loudly, probably too loudly, as she often forget her power, and paid for it in constant reminders of 'Please mam, can you quiet it down'. She blushed slightly as she realized it, her teeth biting into her lip gently, but not resisting a grin. She was caught by surprise by the first hug, but by the second she threw her arms around Rachel in a friendly embrace. "I'm really happy to be here." she replied, letting go. "This is Ale-" she started as she was interrupted by Rachel declaring him as Ludvig. Evelyn stood awkwardly, as she panned between the two, not sure of really what was happening.

Alex took a step back as Rachel went to hug Evelyn. He wasn't particularly opposed to being hugged himself, but when he was sore like this he knew it wouldn't be very comfortable. Then, as she recognized him, he made an attempt to stand up straight, and braced himself to, possibly, be hugged as well. "Ms. Loco I assume" he said with a slight smile, "It's good to finally meet you in person." He was happy to finally meet her, even if he wasn't too thrilled about a party. His stomach rumbled reminding him that he had not eaten supper last night, and he looked up a bit embarrassed.

    On the Train
[tab] Issac sat placidly on the train. The rhytmic chug-a-chug threatening to force him back to sleep. He was, in fact, surprised that he actually made the shuttle, consdering how much he had overslept. In a last minute dash to the station, he bought his ticket and caught it before it departed.
The seats were uncomfortable, and the train smelled like sweat and failure. Issac's family was by no means wealthy, which meant that economy class was a necessity.
Not that I mind, of course. I despise decadence of all kinds. He thought to himself. He sighed, images of the parabled of the Wolf and the Grapes flashing through his mind. It was foolish to detest someone for having more than him. All that it meant was that was that they possesed an aptitude at something that was more marketable than his own skills.
Or that they got lucky and were born in to a wealthy family. He thought bitterly.
With a Wssh and a Whrr, the train slowly pulled to a stop. He stood up, pulling his luggage from out under the seat in front of him. His ticket placed him at at seat farthest from any of the exits, meaning that he was stuck between two people in line to get off. The man in front of him looked very manly, and smelled like it to, whilst the age'd woman behind looked as though she would eat Issac if she were given the chance.
After a time that seemed longer than the actual journey itself, he was finally off.

    ------

It had taken quite a deal of asking around, but he had finally located Greyhaven. He had, of course, been thouroughly discourged when he discovered its location.
You mean I have to WALK there?
But, after much trepidation, he had finally reached it. Birds sang, water flowed, and angels sang in emmaculate chorus.
Ok, maybe they didn't, but it would have made things signifigantly more interesting.
He stepped up to the front porch awkwardly. He was unaccoustomed to the social stigma regarding visitors, so, after much deliberation, knocked timidly on the doorframe, hoping to St. Joan that he wasn't interrupting anything.
