    Gyuki & MadeHatter02

A chilly breeze ruffled the alpha's fur as he looked around his lively little village.Only a few males chatted with each other, the rest having been sent out on a patrol of the borders, though the few talking seemed to enjoy the time off as they joked with one another.Pups and older adolecents ran about in a playful banter, causing quite a din that caused mothers to come out from their working mindset to scold them for their reckless behavior.Aauron gave a small smile as he watched the younger pups crawl about, though it soon faded as he remembered his sweet Vera. She had only been three months pregnant when the humans came to eradicate their pack.Wanting nothing but peace, Vera hadn't resisted or acted violently against the humans, though when he had tried to protect her, they'd done the unthinkable. The humans had tied him down and shot his mate in the chest, leaving her to bleed out before Aauron's eyes.Still, the alpha bore no hatred towards the humans, for they were nothing but beasts who had become so enamoured with their material items that they had long forgotten the bonds of family and friendship. They were to be pitied, and pity them Aauron did.A creature that no longer held compassion was a poor sight and it showed the true colors of the ex allies of The Pack.Still there were others in Aauron's pack who believed the humans should pay for their foolery with the ultimate sacrifice, their lives. And even those poor fools with that mind set were to be pitied, for their own hearts had shriveled up when the war ended and left nothing in them but deep hate. But that was not how things were meant to be.The lives of the humans and The Pack were meant to be peaceful and friendly, but some friendships don't seem to last quite so long as they should.

Aauron suddenly lifted his head to the forest beyond his village, his ears perking at the sound of a homebound howl that carried news of both a successful hunt and some rather interesting prey. The male narrowed his honey colored eyes before giving a light snort. He slowly paced closer to the entrance of the village, not quite sure he wanted whatever it was that his beta, Rakhil, was bringing to be dealt with.Aauron gave a return howl that ended just as the pack of dark pelted patrolers came into view. The alpha was pleased to see they'd caught enough game, though not so much as he noticed a strange net hanging around his beta's shoulders.Rakhil stood as he approached Aauron and pulled the net from around his torso before throwing it to the ground, letting the entire village see the human girl trapped within it.Aauron looked to Rakhil for an explanation to which the black wolf replied,"You have eyes, Aauron.Look at it, the humans are crossing the treaty. They still selfishly seek to take our lands, even after we've given them all we had!I saw we make an example of this wench to them all and show them that we will not stand for this.""You are mistaken, Rakhil, if you think I am going to allow an innocent death of this woman.Do you not see the fear on her face?If you recall, most humans don't even know of our existance anymore. The Pack is simply a bedtime story the humans tell their young to make them sleep. We've finally finished the war, and I will not start another one.Not when it is the lives of my people that will be taken," the alpha scolded as he kneeled down next to the human.Slowly, he pulled out his knife from the holister at his hip and cut open the net before standing once more,"I will speak with her and find out how she came to be on our lands."

Before Aauron could turn his back, Rakhil curled his lips in a snarl and let his tail stand high in a challenging manner,"How dare you protect that weak human.Even after they took Vera away from you, you still show compassion to them like they're still our comrads!"Aauron returned the snarl, showing his own canines to the male while the pack members around them began to scoot away,"Lower your tail, Rakhil.Know your place. If you say another word, I'll help you to remember it, beta."At that, the black pelted wolf lept at Aauron and lunged his jaws at his alpha's throat.Being both more seasoned and larger in size than his assultant, Aauron easily rolled them over and clamped his jaws down on Rakhil's scruff, earning a yelp as he threw the smaller male.Still the beta came back for more, trying with all his strength to down his alpha, though he was eventually pinned on his back with Aauron biting down on his jugular so he couldn't move.As the beta began to whine submissively with his tail between his legs and his ears back, Aauron slowly released his, his tail standing high with his ears perked authoritively."Now, go cool yourself off. After that, go have your wounds checked and return to your mate. Now is not the time to be fighting amongst ourselves. We have finally achieved peace, and I will not see that destroyed before the eyes of our pups.Do you understand me, beta," he questioned as he looked down on the other who nodded with a whine before slinking off with two other males.

His haunches slowly lowering, Aauron turned to the human girl, all ferociousness from before gone and replaced with gentleness,"Come, human.I would like to hear your reason for being in our lands. No harm will come of you no matter what the tale, I simply wish to know the truth."Trying to keep the human at ease, Aauron lowered his tail and began to slowly walk as he waited for a reply from the woman. She seemed rather pretty for a human, though a bit misplaced out in this wilderness so far from civilization."Tell me, how was it that my beta came across you?Why are you so far away from the cities your people built exclusively for your human needs and wants?"
There was a time men were kind,
    When their voices were soft,
    And their words inviting,
There was a time when love was blind,
And the world was a song,
    And the song was exciting...

The wind blew sending a slight chill up Delilahs spine. A sense that someone was watching her. Looking around she walked over to her father and gave him a quick hug and told him she was going for a camp trip near a hiking trail. Wearing her hiking boots, a pair of jeans, blue tank top and a grey sweater she put on her backpack with her sleeping back and tent on top of it she started hiking up towards the mountains where she had heard old folk tales about what her grandfather called were 'The pack' he'd tell her the old tales to help her sleep at night when she was afraid of the night. Walking along the path she headed up the long dirt road and meadow into the mountains. Having a smile on her face she could smell the sent of nature as she hiked to the place where she had found a good place to camp near a pathway where it would be good to hike instead of going to old areas that she had been to over a million times each. Delilah hiked to the camp spot for almost two hours until she had gotten there. Sitting down on a rock to rest she had realized that she had made it to the camp spot, she took a quick drink of water then started setting up her small tent made only for one person. Standing up after putting the last steak in to hold down the tent and the tarp she brushed her knees off of dirt and looked around. Grabbing her backpack and sleeping back she set up the inside of her tent.

Deciding to take a small nap Delilah closed the tent flap/door and sat down on her sleeping bag taking her hiking boots off. Crawling into the sleeping bag she fell asleep to the sound of birds chirping, trees rustling as the wind blew, the lakes near by, and all the sounds of nature. As she slept a few deers past by the tent having smelled the new sent in the grounds where they lived and had feeding grounds. It started sprinkling a light mixture of rain and snow having it just been the ending of winter and now the beginning of spring. It being a little past one in the afternoon Delilah woke up to the sound of a twig breaking. Getting up slowly and quietly she sat up and quietly unzipped a small portion of the tent door and peeked out. Smiling she saw a small baby deer. Unzipping it quietly and slowly the rest of the way she smiled getting a small piece of bread and walked slowly and quietly over to the deer and it's young. Getting about three feet away she sat down on a medium sized flat rock and slowly tossed a small piece of the bread slice to the deer and the young watching them slowly as the mother walked up and took a piece then gestured for it's young to stay by her and that it was alright. Having a smile on her face Delilah took a few small pieces of the bread slice, put them in one hand and held it out for the two deers and watched them feed out of her hand.

When the deer and it's young were finished and let her pet them a bit they headed off back in the direction to where their heard or home might be at. Walking over back to the tent she put back on her hiking boots, grabbed her backpack, zipped the tent door/flap back up and headed out for a short hike. Walking up the small light trail she made a few days before she started hiking up the path enjoying the smells, sounds, and company of nature / the woods. Walking along the path she tripped over a rope that was connected and tied around two trees, accidentally dropped her backpack. Standing back up she brushed herself off, leaning down to pick up her backpack she felt something slightly heavy being tossed onto her making her falls onto her knees as she was already bending down to pick her backpack up off of the ground. Seeing that it was a net that was tossed onto her she tried to free herself when someone or something picked her and the rope up making her left tangled into the net. Looking to see who had captured her she noticed it was a wolf. Not knowing what was going on she looked and saw other wolves, but they weren't like normal wolves. They were bigger, looked stronger, and were walking on two feet or paws to be exact. Strangely from what was going on she didn't panic but tried to put the pieces together. Suddenly remembering she remembered the stories her grandfather had told her. A few minutes past by when she saw them walk up to what looked like a village full of wolves or whatever her grandfather had called them not exactly remembering their exact name.

Being thrown to the ground Delilah made a small groan having landed a little harder than she had expected. She watched the wolves talk and communicate to each other. As the wolf cut open the net she moved the nets so she was untangled and stood up slowly not afraid when the wolf cut open the net. Seeing and hearing the conversation/ argument and fight between the two wolves the more dominate one seemed and looked as if he was the alpha. Nodding she followed the wolf. Delilah spoke to the wolf answering his questions. "I was hiking the mountain, I made a small camp area a little ways down the mountain. I've hiked for years yet never came here thought I could try some place new. I tripped over rope that was tied to two trees and when I went to pick my backpack back up a net was tossed onto me and next thing I know was that I was captured. Then for where I live, I do not live in the cities. I live in the small village down the mountain across the meadow, a small path then across a stream. My village/family and I don't like the city much, we tend to keep to our ancestors ways and stay in our village with nature and our usual ways. I find it better than what the city has."

Aauron listened with earnest to the woman's words, though his eyes stay focused on something ahead unseen. He heard and understood this human, though his mind also seemed to be working on something else as he even tried to picture the trail of events the human had gone through. The alpha paused in his stride a moment as she finished her tale with how she lived in a village out in much the same manner the Pack did more or less and looked down to her,"So there are wise humans...I mean no disrespect to your clan, but after the humans became enamoured with this...'Technology', and their advanced living ways, it has appeared that there was no hope for your kind.I am not trying to say that my pack has a better way of living or is above the human race, for we all have our flaws, though I had lost hope for quite some time.I am glad to see that I have been prooved wrong. For while the blood of a select few still boils in hatred, the human race are still our brothers."The white pelted male continued on, walking past the pups who paraded around his long, powerful legs, peeking around from behind him to steal a glance of the human girl.To them, she was a strange creature of many mysteries. She had no soft pelt, nor tail, her ears rested on the side of her head rather than atop to better catch the sounds of the forest. Also, her eyes, they were strange, like shallow pools that might fade to nothing more than a mirrage if one were to look away for more than a moment. She also bore no claws or a snout or fangs with which to protect herself. The human was indeed a queer sight for the younglings. There was nothing they'd ever seen that could compare.

Aauron looked down at the children with a tender twinkle in his honey irises before gently kneeling down to be at a level closer to their own. They lined up before him, four pups to be exact, each of various age and height."She is a human, pups.Do not be frightened. This human is a gentle soul, like your mothers,"he spoke in his native tongue of hand gestures and a language the humans had named 'Wolf Speech'.It was a dificult language to learn if one did not already know the hand gestures made during conversation, thus why it had never been passed on to the humans. At his gentle words, the cubs wagged their little tails and slowly inched closer to the human, their little noses twitching as they sniffed at her new scent.Aauron stood with a wolfy smile as he watched the group explore the human girl, tugging on her hands to inspect them as well as her hair and strange clothes."My apologies, these pups have never seen a human before. They do not know english yet though, so they were afraid to come too close,"the alpha explained as he turned his head to watch Rakhil return through the village entrance, still seeming aggitated, though not as much as before.Though hard-headed and slow to choose the wisest path, he was a good male, and an excellent beta. The male then turned his attention back to the pups and spoke for them to leave in Wolf Speech before returning his attention to the female once more,"The one who brought you, his name is Rakhil. He is a good wolf.Doesn't always think things through, but still a great asset to the Pack.He means no harm.I am the chief alpha of the Pack, my name is Aauron son of Tarleid.I will give you sanctuary here in my pack as long as you wish, though you are free to leave.I do suggest you stay here though.A gathering of the packs will be held in a few days and will continue on for a month. Some of the other alphas do not feel as peacable towards your kind as I do, so it would be easier to secure your safety if you stayed in the village until the end of the gathering."

Aauron didn't want to keep the girl here against her will, but he also didn't want one of the other packs to become alerted to her and attack, lest there be another war from such an action.Though he was the grand alpha of the Pack, there were still a few radicals who dared to go against his rule, and those few were strongly protected by their pack alphas as good comrads.Aauron couldn't disagree with their mindset, if someone tried to have Rakhil exiled for a crime worthy of such a punishment, then he too would protect his beta with every ounce of strength in his bones. After all, the coal pelt male was nothing if not loyal to his alpha, even through his challenge of Aauron's authority."If you are not uncomfortable with it, would you tell me your name, human?I do not wish to call you your race name while you are here, just as I do not wish for you to call me 'Wolf',"the male spoke with earnest eyes as he stared at the girl with both intensity and a calming genteel.Aauron was not as harsh as most of the Pack's alphas, not when it would only lead to more bloodshed and hostility between races. He wanted there to be peace once more, not this precarious balance of which side woud break the treaty first.

The girl listened to what Aarong was telling her walking right behind him to the side so he could still see where she was. Delilah had memories and images of the past when she was younger when her mother and brother left her father and her for the city and it's technology. Not seeing her since she missed her mother but was also mad at her for her and her brother leaving them and the tribe. They were all family yet she left them for what she thought was better and more stable. Irritated at the thought she stopped in her tracks not noticing it spacing off. Noticing it she stepped back into foot with the alpha and replied to what he had to say."None taken, it's fine. My people have lived like this for many many years. Hundreds to be exact. As you said when they created 'Technology' most of the human race fled to the city where it was created and what forth, although my family found it somewhat fascinating we decided to stay and do as we always have. Nanook my mother and Felix my younger brother left for the city when the technology was created. I didn't want to go, having always loved our traditions so my father stayed with those who wanted to stay having always been the leader of our tribe. I haven't seen my mother since then nor my younger brother." Delilah followed Aaron around the camp. Looking at everything they passed noticing the differences and similarities to how both of them lived.

Seeing the pups come up to him she smiled. They were adorable, cute, fluffy, sweet. Smiling she watched him interact with them. Kneeling down on her knees to be their level she watched them come towards her slowly examining her. Sniffing taking in her sent, tugging at her hair, hands, and clothes wondering who and what she was probably never have seen a human. They were probably thinking who? and what? is she, she obviously didn't look anything like them. No fur coat, no pelt, no claws, her ears do not sit on the top of her head but on the side, no paws but hands, feet instead of paws, hair on her head instead of fur that covers their body. Hearing the alpha speak his native language she new everything he said not knowing how but all Delilah knew was that she new every exact word and sentence he said. Eyes wide thinking to herself knowing she might have learned it by her grandfather when he told her the stories of the pack(s).

"It's fine. It doesn't hurt I'm used to it actually there's a wolf pup that I took under my wing he wondered to our village and was lost she's just a year we could never find her home or parents sadly, we hiked a long time in the meadow, hills, everywhere I could think of. She's free, comes and goes. I don't keep her but whenever she comes by I give her a nice place to sleep, hunt with her taught her how to hunt and live in the wild so I didn't have to keep her there so she could do as she pleases. Her names Moon from what she told me from what she could remember.." Delilah smiled at him, missing the pup she takes care of hoping she would see her again and hoping she found her family. Watching them walk away looking at their parents and giving them a smile. Listening to Aaron she nodded knowing that the wolf Rakhil didn't mean any harm but might have it seem that way understanding that he would want to protect his tribe and pack as his alpha does. "Thank you. I'll gladly take your offer up but I have my family and tribe to care for. My father is wise and noble but he is starting to age and weaken for he's starting to get sick. I see the signs. I'll have to let them know that it will not be safe for them to wonder away from the village for a few months. I do not know how they will survive though without meet to eat for months if they can not hunt for food. I'm sorry."

Wanting there to be peace between the two races she still wanted to keep her family safe by anyone who would want to hurt them no matter who it would be to try and hurt them. Delilah would be the leader of the tribe when her father passes so is therefore to start taking responsibility and learn what it is to be a leader. Responding to him she told him her name. "Yes, we are agreed upon that it would be odd for you to call me human and me to call you wolf. For it is also unkind some neither knowing the other race or person to call you by your race name or girl or guy. But aside from that my name is Delilah, and thank you for being so kind to me." Speaking she spoke in the wolf language not noticing it at all until she finished speaking.
