[NEWS REPORT:A team of private sponsors have announced the development of a new military starship called the Unity. The sponsors include human advocate Naria Raleen, asari matriarch Laisia R'Lan, and turian ex-commander Angorles Crassus. The Unity will employ a team of multiracial volunteer specialists to assist with the Reaper War effort. Sponsor Raleen explains the purpose of the project is to "… Create bridges between the races and unite the galaxy against a common enemy [Reapers]."
The parallels between the Unity and the newly-reinstated Alliance vessel Normandy SR2 are obvious. Angorles Crassus elaborates: "After seeing the success of a vessel as controversial as the Normandy, the other sponsors and I are confident that the Unity will succeed in its efforts. Like on the Normandy, the Unity crew will consist of several races from different backgrounds."
Matriarch Laisia R'Lan, a steadfast supporter of racial diversity like most asari, was also interviewed. "We sponsors are very confident that the Unity's crew will make important contributions to the Reaper War effort. We're hoping that this success will demonstrate to the rest of the galaxy that there is strength in diversity. Now is the time to put aside our differences and unite the races."

THE STORY
Naria Raleen, Laisia R'Lan, and Angorles Crassus are three influential and wealthy individuals who have come up with Project Unity together. Their plan was to assemble a diverse team of specialists to occupy a small advanced starship called the Unity that would be tasked with assisting the Reaper War effort. The crew would be composed of various races/species, similar to the Normandy's setup, to promote interracial cooperation throughout the galaxy in these troubled times. Thanks to Commander Shepard's effective albeit controversial example of a diverse crew, much of the public was confident in the Unity's ability to succeed similarly. The project was amply funded by thousands of supporters galaxy-wide.
The UNITY is a private ship with no ties to any official militaries such as the Alliance, Palaven Command, etc. The only people who need to be answered to are the three project founders: Angorles, Naria, and Laisia. These three allow the UNITY's crew their necessary space while still being available for financial or political assistance.
The team assists with the war effort in any way possible. This includes search-and-rescue, colony defense, assisting with military operations, data/object recovery, and more. The UNITY exists to serve the galaxy in its battle against the Reapers.
YOUR ROLE
The UNITY becomes a deadly weapon when armed with a skilled crew of professionals. The ship needs various types of specialists to operate, like:
Pilots
Engineers
Soldiers
Biotics

My word is law in regards to this RP
Be respectful, courteous, and kind to one another
Keep all major out of character speak in the OOC thread. A small OOC comment included in your IC post is fine.
No power-modding, god-modding, you know the drill.

Please post one paragraph at the very least. The ideal is at least 2.
Please make your character's name blue in your CS so I know you read the rules.
Try to include other players in the story. If someone's character hasn't been interacted with for a while, figure out a way to include them please

RANKING SYSTEM & DIVISIONS
The UNITY's ranks are based loosely on those of the Alliance, although there are some differences. NOTE: Ranks may be adjusted to accommodate the actual players' needs.
The top leader is the Commanding Officer (AKA CO or Admiral). The Admiral's word is law. All crew members answer to the Admiral.
Second in command is the Executive Officer, or XO.
Among the pilots, they are all equal except for the Lead Pilot who sits at the very front of the ship. The Lead Pilot is in charge.
The Combat Units (which includes biotics, soldiers, combat engineers, infiltrators, and other on-foot battlefield-level fighters) are broken off into teams during each mission/operation. Within those teams there is one leader, the Major, and the secondary leader, the Commander. Everyone else is more or less equal (at least officially).
The Medicine Division is lead by the Chief Physician. Everyone else is more or less equal (at least officially). Members of this division are skilled surgeons/doctors who are also able to serve as in-the-field medics.
The Information And Communications Division answers to the Lead Comm Specialist. Everyone else is more or less equal (again, at least officially).
MAP OF THE SHIP
Map not yet available. Here is a description. Note: Level 1 is the top, 4 is the bottom.
The UNITY is slightly larger than the Normandy SR2 and has four levels.
LEVEL 1: Contains crew's quarters, bathrooms, and the kitchen/dining area. Quarters are co-ed but the bathrooms are not. This is the smallest level on the ship. Contains one entrance/exit of ship
LEVEL 2: At the head of the ship the Bridge, which is where the pilots are located. Behind them is the IC (information center), which is the hub of all incoming information and intel. In the rear are the XO and CO's offices and a conference room between them.
LEVEL 3: Engineering deck. Main components of the ship's machinery lie here. Med bay is within a few feet of an entrance/exit. *Med Bay includes bunks for the doctors.
LEVEL 4: Cargo Hold. Contains cargo and mini-vehicles, such as rovers and shuttles. Also contains the armory. Loading bay.
The ship has one large elevator that is suitable for heavy cargo, two flights of stairs, and a ladder/fire pole connecting the floors (we are NOT gonna be like the Normandy and have limited pathways if the Collectors board us)
The Unity has taken off and is now in the Terminus Systems.

Heyyy, Jerin! I was wonderin', could I be the XO? I know it's a lot to ask, but I figured, "Hey! Worth a shot." If not, that's fine, I'll revert back to my original plan of Yeoman/Comm Specialist. If yes, then... cool!
Well, here is my Character Sheet. I hope it's the kind of thing you're looking for; if not, just say, and I'll be happy to change it.
Character Name:
Taylor Quinn
Species:
Human, Male.
Age:
Twenty-Seven
Role:
Taylor serves as a Squad-Member for the Unity, but with his experience, although it isn't in his job description, he is always availible to lend a hand to Engineering.
Strength/Weakness:
Taylor prides himself on his lover of technology; if he can get his hands on it, he'll do his best to find out how it works. His benefit to that, is that when it comes to combat, Taylor is always looking for a way to use the enemies technology against them to gain the tactical advantage. You could say that he relies too heavily on technology, but Taylor is just a good a soldier. His specialty when it comes to combat is 'Infiltrator', which suits him quite well.
However, Taylor has his fair share of weaknessess; he has always felt like an outcast due to his upbringing, but surprisingly he doesn't know when to stop talking, which is never to his benefit. He isn't a leader type, preferring to be under someones command. Melee combat isn't exactly his specialty either; he will avoid fighting up close if possible.
Power:
Overload.
Appearance:
Taylor stands at six foot, one inch tall, slightly taller than average for a Human. Taylor was born with Heterochromia Iridium, meaning that his eyes are different colours; one blue, one brown. His is Caucasian, and relatively fair skinned. His hair is kept short and rough, its hazel brown resting just above his eyes. He doesn’t have the most muscular frame, but he definitely appears as though he can hold his own in a fight.
Personality:
Taylor isn't the quiet type, by neither is he the type that finds it easy 'making friends'. That isn't to say he isn't a nice person, he just finds it difficult due to his upbringing. He is always willing to show off what he can do, not to brag but simply out of pride. He isn't an easy man to scare, however; he gets that from his Father.
History:
Taylor was born as a military brat; moving from base to base, ship to ship, he grew up without a childhood. His father, a high-ranking Alliance Official, did his best for Taylor; he gave him the best education he could at the time, and made sure he never went wanting anything. Constantly on the move, Taylor had little time to make friends, and because of this, he often feels like an outcast, or out of place amongst a group. He found solace in technology, constantly examining whatever he could find, and spending hours taking it apart and rebuild it, desperate to find out how things worked.
Eventually, he, under pressure from his father, joined the Alliance, becoming a Marine. Here, he learnt to fight and went through training to the best of his ability, always looking for his father’s approval, leading to him striving for a near perfect military record. This, mixed with his technological knowledge, eventually led him to be recommended as a Squad Member aboard the Unity. That was fine for Taylor; with technology that advanced, he couldn’t say no.
@Veil Sure, you can be the XO.
@Pete Wonderful. Welcome aboard the Unity.
The despair of winter is followed by the hope of spring, the infernal heat of summer abolished by a gentle autumn breeze. Life's brutal truths are softened by its tender mercies.
Strength/Weakness: Strengths: Titus is adept in martial arts, due to his wiry build. As well, Titus can be deadly with a Sniper Rifle - given time to pinpoint his target - and can perform almost equally as well with a Heavy Pistol in close quarters. Titus is level-headed and is a skilled tactician, furthermore, he is always open to suggestions and taking diplomatic routes over head-strong ones.
Weaknesses: Titus is not fond of using brute force tactics, and when forced to act in such can seem rather 'clunky'. Titus can also appear to be a very isolated individual, preferring to go over numerous different scenarios and strategies with his Information Drone than interacting with those around him, to the point where he may not always register that someone is talking to him.
Powers: Combat Drone
Appearance:
Note: Ignore the fact that the first (larger) one is supposed to be female, I just really like the color scheme on the outfit and the position.
Personality: Titus is isolated, preferring to talk to his VI than to other people. Although, if need be, Titus can solve disputes between crew members, and others. Not used to always interacting with those around him, Titus usually appears to be level headed during arguments among others, usually working as a mediator. As well, Titus is very honorable and polite - the politeness a result from being surrounded by Hanar -, and usually avoids doing things that would consider him "dishonorable".
History: Born on Kahje like many of his fellow Drell, Titus worked as a hitman for multiple Hanar throughout his lifespan, until finally leaving Kahje, traveling to the Citadel. Once reaching the Citadel, Titus went into the Hanar & Drell Navy forces, quickly rising through the ranks, ironically bringing him back to the planet he just left.
After shooting through the ranks at breakneck speed, Titus managed to find himself as a tactician aboard one of the vessels in the Hanar & Drell Navy, serving there providing strategies for battles, as well as his own personal insights among the war.
After staying at the rank of Tactician, Titus was promoted to XO aboard his ship a few years later. Upon receiving his promotion, Titus purchased a custom-made VI Information Drone he named "Lucifer", using the drone to help him sort through management, tactics, and dossiers for the crew members.
For years, Titus served as XO, until being called by the Asari Matriarch Lasia R'Lan to serve as XO aboard the Alliance vessel Unity.

Jeepers! It seems as though I just beat you to it, Toruun. But if you would like, I could totally make you my little slave - errand - boy(girl?). If you would like to play a Drell, we could even do a sibling relationship? :3
I don't think that sort of relationship would be happy for the character I had in mind xD. I was planning on an old, Turian War Vet, called out to battle after years of retirement because of the Reaper threat.

Haha, no problem bro. Though, Titus would be very up to comparing battle scars and tactics with him, regardless. ~.^
If Luscious is going with XO, I believe I'll reserve Yeoman.

Spake these words to him departing:
"Iku-Turso, son of Old-age,
Nevermore arise from ocean,
Nevermore let Northland-heroes
See thy face above the waters I
Nevermore has Iku-Turso
Risen to the ocean-level;
Never since have Northland sailors
Seen the head of this sea-monster.
There is majesty here
Beyond reason
Beyond understanding
Vast in its implications
What wonders; offered around each new corner-
Over every skyward peak-
Or hidden deep; within in the shadows of each sunken valley
The questions raised
In astonishment
In fear-
If such glories can be divined, yet forgotten
Lost to time;
Strewn about the entirety of the stars
What then are we-
Be us man,
Or be us monster
In light of knowledge, so vast-
So far beyond
Superior; even to our dreams
What matter, then, our petty confrontations
When weighed against the sins we sow
What matter, then, our fate amongst the cosmos, eternal
In light of the Halo; its luminous glow
...My good blade carves the casques of men,
My tough lance thrusteth sure,
My strength is as the strength of ten,
Because my heart is pure...

there shines from his sword
the sun of Gods of the Slain.
