General intro

Welcome to the Korrak Peninsula. Covering a full two thirds of all land on the subcontinent is the Valden Empire, widely considered the de facto ruler of the region, with small neighbouring kingdoms more often than not directly dependent on the empire's whims. For over five hundred years the Valden have guaranteed peace and stability on Korrak through a foreign policy that can be best summed up as 'don't make me come over there'. While small skirmishes are common, it is by and large an era of peace. The official armies of yore have disappeared, shrunken down to a mere fraction needed to keep the dangerous wildlife at bay and enforcing order, most kingdoms resorting to mercenary forces for when 'aggressive negotiations' are required.

Geography

The government of the Empire of Valden is seated in the centre of the V-shaped subcontinent in the Empire's capital, Mastolia, surrounded by vast fields of wheat and other produce on the east and hills and forests on the west. The plains extend all the way to the eastern shores where the city of Corindon lies at the river delta of the Rhana. To the north lie the Anduril mountains, providing iron and coal for the forges of the world. The mountain range only blocks off the north-eastern part, while in the north west a vast desert lies where the occasional trade caravan travels through with artefacts of the mythical western lands. Over the seas lie several distant empires and unexplored lands, but as of now no one has a navy large enough to actually go over there in force.

Story

Our story starts in the smaller Kingdom of Serr, situated on the western foothills of the Anduril mountains. The small nation on the banks of the river Pagh is in turmoil, with wild rumours flying around about a disaster befalling the royal family during their latest hunting trip. Others speak of a giant shape, alike yet unlike an airship, seen flying over the distant mountains. Whatever the truth may be, the king has sent summons wide and far for the best mercenaries his meagre coffers can afford.

Characters

For this RP combat and difficult actions are decided using the simple d6 system. Never heard of it? Don't worry, it fits on a single a4 sheet, and can be found here. To make things interesting right off the bat a character starts with six additional experience points to spend on character creation however you like.

As far as races and forms are concerned: Go nuts so long as it fits the d6 format. I'd prefer working with humanoids but if you want to make a cat wizard or something that's fine too. Putting 'to be revealed' in a bio is fine so long as you PM me the contents please, to avoid inconsistencies in backgrounds.

History: Born to a noble house in Corindon, Ras was given an aristocratic upbringing. His parents try to groom him to be the archetypal gentleman, yet found the task of doing so a tad difficult. From an early age, Ras proved to have a very adventurous and out-going personality. His parents saw this as recklessness, and try to push more aristocratic interests unto him. Although they failed to denote his adventurous spirit, Ras did become a highly aristocratic person in the end. The influence of his own beliefs and upbringing resulted in a charismatic nobleman who was both bold and elegant. Growing up he took much interest in the arts, specifically music, and the field of magical enchantments. He often combined the two, enchanting instruments so that their musical effect would be more profound. After the age of 18, he began getting a reputation as a skilled artist. However, after hearing the news of the Royal scandal, Ras' adventurous spirit called him to temporarily abandon his career and seek to follow the King's summons.

KB97: The outline is good. I read 'Genius' as largely synonymous with 'Intelligent', I don't know if that was what you have in mind with it. Also I read 'Psionics' as a subset of 'Magic' that affects the minds of other creatures, this means 'Telekinesis' is not part of psionics but would fall under 'Evocation' (continuing the use of DnD analogies here).

Undead is not a quality, but will have effects vs certain attacks (good or bad depending on the attack in question).

By all means say so if this isn't what you mean or if I understood correctly.
