Shan frowned, watching the lines across Dean's forehead change with worry. He was going through some internal struggles that he would never talk about. She could see that much in those simple age lines. She looked between his eyes, and narrowed her eyes.

"Your business…complicated…so you can't rest? What if I involve myself? You seem like a nice enough guy…and you're in trouble. Let…someone…help you…", she said. She didn't know if he had ever heard the word, 'rest' before, judging by his worry lines. She just wanted to give him comfort…even if only for a second.

Sam raised his eyebrows, smiling in amusement. This girl was flawless. She was slick, and she was basically his equal. Something about that was the hottest thing in the universe. She was his EQUAL. He smacked her on the ass, before taking a seat in one of the chairs around the briefing table.

"I'm a toy, now, am I? We'll see about that…", he singsonged as the doors opened, and two of their 'soldiers' walked in with a man between them. A bag was over his head, and he was struggling against them, "What exactly did you guys bring into the pound, now?"

"Djin…", one of the men said without hesitation, simply walking the Djin down the hall, to his permanent prison cell.

Dean barely looked at her when she spoke, but he did listen intently to what she was saying. She was really insistant on hanging around him for some reason, and she barely knew him. He wondered what it was about his sorry state that was attracting her so much, he didn't think self loathing and hurting guys attracted women so well, but Shan was seeming to prove him wrong on this thought.

When she said she would involve herself however, he did look at him with wide eyes and held onto her shoulders, firmly but not to the point where he would hurt her. "No, I can't involve you and you can't involve yourself- what I do... what I'm trying to do is dangerous and I'm not having you get involved and possibly hurt. I have to do this alone, it's better this way. I've already lost one per..." He began to ramble off sternly, but he couldn't let himself finish saying "lost one person".

Gritting his teeth and closing his eyes briefly, he let himself sigh deep in his throat, before opening his eyes again, "I'm not risking anymore people around me getting hurt...please, respect that." He said to her. To be frank, her stubbornness was reminding him of Jo, when she went along on her first hunt behind Ellen's back anyway. That day he learnt a lot about her, and although it was an awkward time, he was fond of holding that memory.

Shaking the thought of his mind mentally, he looked at Shan again, "Please...I don't want you getting hurt... but if you wanna help you can help me find a witch's shop in town.. I heard there was one here, that's why I'm here." He said to her, keeping his reasoning for wanting a shop of that sort classified information.

Lexi, smiled at Sam, when he rose his eyebrows in amusement. She had totally picked his curiosity about her, and she was satisfied with that. That's what she wanted, him to be curious about her to the point where he would always find himself wanting her attention in some way or another.

She chuckled beneath a smirk when he smacked her ass as he walked into the briefing room and sat down on a chair 'Right where I ant you, in my grip' she thought to herself, as she then followed him into the briefing room when "soldiers" came in with another monster in tow and a bag over his head. Sam beat her to the punch with asking what it was they caught, and when they answered with Djinn, it was now her turn to have her interest picked.

She watched as they walked passed her, and she couldn't help but make her gaze down down the monster's front and check out his arms. She had heard Djinn had tattoos that covered their bodies and she wanted to see for herself. Luckily for her, she saw the tattoos on his arms just before they disappeared into the skin. "Huh.. interesting... verrry interesting..." she muttered to herself, before walking over to he table and she just jumped up and sat herself on the table. She was never one for sitting on chairs.

When one of the soldiers came back, he looked between Sam and Lexi, and walked over to her sniffing her. "Dude... seriously?" She questioned, leaning back away from him. "Lexi you smell like sex... and your hair is seriously post sex hair" He remarked and it made her laugh. "And what of it?" She just said back in a smart ass attitude.

Shan narrowed her eyes at Dean's shifty response, glancing down at his hands on her shoulders. She forced herself, however, to nod in understanding. If he was really hurting because of a death he was involved with, she would have to respect that, and just have faith that he would be okay. She didn't know this mystery guy…but his personality; his story was reaching out to her.

"Okay. I'll…I'll go with you to the shop. A few guys come in here that are into all of that, with all the creepy books and tattoos. I don't think I want to know what has you interested…but you got a car?", she asked, reaching down to squeeze his wrist lightly.

    ------------

Sam watched the men cart the Djinn away, before turning his eyes back to Lexi. He watched her intently, waiting for the next order to be given. If they were to stay on track with their 'mission', they had to stay focused. Though, he felt compelled to watch her, or so he thought. His trance was broken by the man sniffing and commenting at her.

His nose scrunched up in feigned disgust, as he watched the exchange.

"Don't be jealous, man. I'm sure you can find something in here to screw around with…", he commented, smirking at the insinuation he was making, "Go…Find a play thing."

Dean watched her eyes narrow at him, from his response. She didn't want to except his answer 100%, hell she could tell he was holding so much inside and he could see that. He had spent way too many having to read people and their behaviour, that and her narrowing of her eyes kind of reminded him of how Bobby would look at him when he wasn't telling the whole truth or how Sam would.

Though he sighed slightly, when she nodded glad that she wouldn't try and pry anymore than she already was attempting. Then came the agreement to take him to this shop that he was hoping for. He was just thankful there was no clause with the agreement that he had to agree to. "Trust me... you don't wanna know why I'm interested" He simply said to her, before he nodded at her question about a car. Feeling her squeeze his wrist lightly was something that almost took him aback slightly. He had been given a comforting touch or a touch of concern in an entire year, it was alien to him but he welcomed it.

"Of course I have a car, I drive everywhere. Well.. lets get out of here and get moving, the sooner I get there and get what I need the better." Dean said, forgetting that he was drunk and legally should not even thinking about drinking.

Lexi watched the others drag in the Djinn to the lock up behind the guy commenting on her post sex hair and smell. She was ready to hear some kind of come back about her careless ways or expecting a remark like 'whore of the team' to escape the guy's mouth but when Sam chimed in she couldn't help but stifle back a chuckle.

Sam's witty come back honestly made her smile and laugh, which caused this particular member of the team to look at her with narrowed eyes before Sam continued his insinuation. Once he left the room, she couldn't help but laugh out loud, her knees lifting up to her collarbone before lowering again, and she jumped off the table walking over to Sam.

"Wow Sam, I'm impressed! You're alright!" She said in an amused tone with a grin appearing her mouth as she patted him on the shoulder. She was just as distracted by him, as he was with her. After her chuckle escaped her lips, she walked back round the table and sat in a normal chair for once. "Okay... back to business" She said, though her tone showed she didn't really care for paperwork. She wanted action before she went stark raving crazy.

Shan nodded softly at his words, and looked him over. He was definitely drunk, and she would try to coax him out of his keys soon enough. First, she had to get him out of the bar. She stepped up to Merle, who was still holding Dean's jacket, as if it was a trophy. She kissed him on the cheek, taking the jacket from his outstretched arm. She draped it over her arm, and returned to Dean's side, offering the old leather to him.

"Let's get out of here. Through that door…Keys…", she demanded, holding her hand out in return for keys.

    ---

"Yeah…back to business. Let's find something that's more interesting than these damn walls…", Sam answered, reading her expression. He raised his eyebrows in a way that suggested they go their own way; find their own expedition to go on. They could stay on track with the mission…but could actually see something other than paperwork.

"I'll pack up a van…", he said as a closing. It was settled. She could find them something…and he would be ready to go when she was.

Dean was glad they didn't have to dance anymore and his need to find help in bringing his brother back. He stood still as he waited for Shan, whilst she went to Marle to get his jacket back. He had briefly forgotten it was Marle who still had his jacket, and when that realisation came to him through his clouded mind, he was glad he kept his firearms in the trunk of his car, and not in his inside pocket of his old leather jacket.

When she came back, he took his jacket from her, and slung it on, one arm at a time and nodded as she about getting out of here. Noticing that Marle wasn't coming over and giving him a warning of looking after Shan or else type of threat, he figured he was trusted with her. If he had given it any deeper of a thought, he would thought how wrong Marle would have been a while ago, considering how much danger would follow him around.

He patted himself down, when Shan asked for keys, or more like demanded to have his car keys as he walked her out of the bar and over to his beloved baby the impala. Grabbing hold of his car keys from his inside jacket pocket he went to hand them over to her but with hesitation. "Just.... don't dent her..." was all he could muster up to say before handing the keys to her.

Lexi glanced up at Sam from all the different papers on the table when he spoke to her in reply. Hearing him suggest just getting out of this old worn down building was like music to her ears. He was willing to just up and leave without word to Samuel or anyone else with her and go on their own adventure. It's official... Sam was proving her ultimate man.

"That's music to my ears," She said with a rebellious smile returning to her lips. She flicked through all the papers that had unsolved cases on them, looking for a case that took them out for as long as possible. "I'll grab a case from this pile and I'll meet you in the van," She said to him.
