i was thinking a science fiction/adventure type thing with a bit of fantasy mixed in
Love science fiction. Why don't we each come up with two themes we'd like to feature in the roleplay and then we can think up a story from there?
sure. my idea is kind of long, so bear with me.
the world of it is the product of a divergent split in the development of the main “real universe” this split caused two worlds to form, one was the world we know as real, while the other was a mirror version, where monstrous creatures and deadly plagues forced humanity down the path of evolution into a race known as the indrians; the indrians are a warrior race gifted with the ability to adapt and evolve rapidly to their environment. They mastered their world millennia before humanity, using a unique set of natural resources called voidstone ore and black metal. Voidstone ore acts as a self-contained thermo-nuclear reactor, releasing insane amounts of energy when exposed to magnetic fields while black metal is a light weight, high density, high durability material that can be easily shaped to nearly any purpose. The indrians used these wonder materials to form an empire that spanned multiple dimensions, influencing the cultures of many early earth civilizations including the Nordic and Germanic cultures of history; even having a deity, the warrior god indra named for them. They choose a passive form of governing, intervening only when the races they patron face an enemy beyond their own capability to defeat. Appointing watchers, exceptional individuals granted immortality via infusion of voidstone energies to watch over the far reaches of their empire to watch over these races, they have kept peace until now. for now a force of great evil threatens all universes, forcing all to either join together, or die.
I like the split worlds idea. I'm not really a fan of fantasy races though. Sorry. Why don't we start absolutely from scratch?
fine with me, though the indrians are more a scifi race than a fantasy one. essentially they're the result of a "drop humanity on a death world and see how they evolve differently" type idea.
Two themes I'd like to include in a roleplay are,
1. Attempting to change fate by traveling through time.
2. The end of the world is near.
What are yours?
1. humanity discovering that they aren't alone in the universe
2. traveling through time in order to prevent some kind of apocalyptic event from occuring.
i like your ideas too. perhaps we could combine our ideas somehow?
That's what I'm saying. We each think of two themes and combine them all together. Is there not something else you could think of for your second one? It's the same as mine. Once we have four theme we can brain storm how to combine them.
