    America's 50 Smartest Colleges.

    They exist.

This got me thinking, though. Anyone else ever noticed that while some people are very gifted intellectually, they're not as gifted in... other areas?

Smart people can be exceedingly dumb. There's little correlation (that I've seen personally) between "book smarts" and "street smarts."

For example, my roommate is a Bio-Chem/Physics double major. She can wrap her head around scientific/math-y concepts and equations that I could never dream of understanding. But she's also not the brightest crayon in the box.

Another friend of mine barely scraped by in high school but he's able to calmly discuss philosophical and religious problems, is extremely empathetic, understanding, and just the kind of guy you want to be around when you're in any mood.

I suppose this is also relatable to individual understandings on subjective vs. objective material.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Knowledge is what that list is going for. Being knowledgeable doesn't make you smart.

Also, good grades require effort. You can be lazy and smart. The grades measure intelligence thing is fraudulent.

Some people should die, that's just unconscious knowledge

I have bounds of useless information.

I'm also really good at making up bullshit, and can be extremely manipulative?

Does that make me smart, or just a prick?

    Thats for society to say~

There's a reason that even when attempting to quantify intelligence with a number, there are categories that divide up the points and create an average (see intelligence quotient).

I'm not sure. I found the GIF somewhere, tried reverse google imaging it, found like, 3 places where it had been posted ever... And decided "Lol this will surely get people asking about my signature~!"

    And thats my story.

Yeah, I'm gonna just go ahead and call bullshit on that list.

It's who you are, baby girl.

I prefer the term common sense. "Street smarts" implies that most people could be gangbangers. But yeah, it's definitely possible. I scored 99th percentile on the SAT's, and am failing two classes. :/
