Yeah. Strange denominations for time eras, I think. But, I didn't make them. Current post-modern time is too rich with reality, I'd much rather prefer fiction.

Yeah, I'd much rather have a sci-fi nation builder than a post-modern. Although, it could be an alternate reality set in the post-modern age of an alternate Earth, where things are a bit different. Like how in Fallout, technology accelerated much faster, but culture remained at a near standstill.
Duct Tape and Bullets Anthro zombie apocalypse RP. Always open!
Grand Journey: Tales of Adventure A reboot of another RP, done in memory of the GM, who was shot and killed on April 13th, 2013.
Starship Troopers: The Bug War An RP focusing on a Mobile Infantry outfit during the Bug War, set in the version of the Starship Troopers setting presented by Heinlein himself in the novel.
Transformers: The Red Storm's Rage Not mine, but it really needs people.

Nice Cthulhu image, btw. Freaky guy.

Never played Fallout. I've heard good things, but I just haven't gotten into it. Nonetheless, depending on the era we're looking at, I might have a nice chunk of my nation already planned. And depending on what sort of things are allowed, I can get very creative...

Thanks. The Cthulhu Mythos is one of my favorite fantasy settings.

And it's pretty good, but I've played better. As far as RPG's go, it's one of the best, right up there with Zelda and Elder Scrolls.

And if it's sci-fi, I've already got a nation I can use. I can just port it over to this one from another nation building RP I'm in that seems a bit dead now.

Initial setting will be Fantasy, with low tech level, but nations will increase in tech level as time and research progresses. It will be run much like a game, in that I have prepared stats and a system for it. That isn't to say that roleplaying won't play a part: You decide what your people look like, what they act like, and roleplay how they react to their environment. Each nation has certain traits that give it advantages, and each nation has one entirely customizable Leader, who is in charge of everything (this can be roleplayed as a single leader, a council representing one 'leader' or anything else you think seems interesting, but the mechanics are the same). The purpose of the system is to create some form of game balance, to avoid people starting as powerhouse nations bullying everyone (though you are entirely free to work towards doing so in-game).

    In answer to specific questions:

[1. What genre is this RP? Fantasy, futuristic, alternate history (like steampunk or biopunk), etc? Are these nations set on a human world, or are there different species available for play?]
Fantasy, initially, but will evolve. Setting is a (admittedly awful looking) map I drew, which I'll explain in the OOC once it's ready. What creatures exist in the world will depend on how the players want to flavor it. It can be populated by 'normal world' animals, monsters, or a mix of the two. Agricultural nations can flavor their livestock and such however they want, for example, and I'll add that kind of animal around places with similar climate to where that nation lives.

[2. Will this RP be mission or quest drive? Will it focus on a linear storyline, or one that evolves as the players decide? Will there be multiple stories occurring at once, or only one that all characters are required to participate in?]
It is entirely up to you what your nation does. The story, whatever it may be, is driven by player interaction and the whim of the dice. To note however, it is likely nations will start off far from the others if they choose wild starting locations.

[3. What rating (PG, PG-13, or R) would this RP be? Personally, I vote for R or "Mature," if you want to put it in video game lingo.]
Not so much important to me. You guys are the ones who will actually be interacting via your people and leaders, so it's up to all of you.

Since we have at least four people interested, I'll finish working out and finalizing some system stuff and put up the OOC.

Will you be willing to accept a newbie who has never played a Nation RP before? I've heard of it and am curious to see what it's like. I can handle multiple characters, post once a day and am okay with my characters becoming expendable. I'm just eager to see what it feels like to RP in this. I'll be reading through the Natiion RP Guide here, but I guess its not exactly the real thing.

And uh, I suppose if it doesn't work out, I'll write a closure post so you guys can take my nation's commodities and split it amongst yourselves (yay freebies) . Maybe I can play a small/'in the background' nation to start off with?
