Hi everyone. I do not yet have a specific plot planned out for the story, but I did write the beginning. Actually, this was written several months ago, but I stopped because I had trouble deciding in what direction to take it. I've attached the first 2 chapters.
I do know that I'd like it to be in the drama/romance/humor genre.
One condition: no deaths involved!
If you're interested in taking on a roleplay with me in this story or have any suggestions how to twist it in a interesting way, I'll be glad to hear from you.

Hi, everyone. I've updated ch 2 of the story. Also, here is my idea of what direction I'd like it to go:
Main characters so far:
Kate; 18 years old (young girl planning to become a pianist; very talented; very motivated; full of dreams; somewhat naive),
Jeff; 42 years old (a wealthy middle-aged businessman; owner of a large pharmaceutical company; smart and ambitious, yet caring and with a warm heart),
Richard; 22 years old (Jeff's stepson; rebellious; often spiteful and rude; keeps to himself most of the time; lives off his stepfather's money; doesn't really know what to do with his life, but has good musical abilities and writes songs; plans to start a band with his friends),
Jason; 23 years old (Jeff's young assistant and right hand; an irreplaceable worker; purposeful; goal-driven; hardworking; responsible; honest; charming; always does the right thing for the right reason)
Shannon; 38 (Kate's mother; very talented musician; hard-working; her daughter is everything to her)
Victoria; 41 (Richard's mother; most of all loves herself and a good life; loves her "darling" son; cares for Richard but more so for his wealth)
I was thinking that Jeff would want to help out Kate and, later find out that he is her real father. Also, maybe a possible love triangle of Jason-Kate-Richard. Jason, being well-mannered, charming, honest, and always knowing what he wants, will earn Kate's attention quite quickly. Richard, on the other hand, will initially be very annoyed by the "loveliness" and motivation of Kate (and the aspects of her character the make her similar to Jason, who always does the right thing for the right reason). Also, upon finding out that Kate is Jeff's daughter, his distaste for her grows as he and his mother begin to believe that she can take away his stepfather's inheritance (as well as the love which, even without her, was not there for Richard). For that reason, he often spills out his malice and bitterness on her, making her life miserable. And she, in turn, hates everything about him and avoids him as much as possible. Later, however, as time goes by, and various situations bring Kate and Richard closer together, Kate discovers Richard's other side, as well as his talent, as she falls in love with his songs and, maybe, not only the songs
